It doesn’t really seem like you noticed this Alex, but I wanted to let you know that Ezra using the Force to save Zeb was not the first time we’ve seen Ezra use the Force. This was just the first time we’ve seen him use it in this way (for an attack). It seems he was already pretty adept at using it actually, even if he didn’t know what it was exactly. He used it in the previous episodes to jump. In fact, I think him using it to jump onto the ship in the first episode is probably how Kanan realized he was Force sensitive.

What you are forgetting is, after order 66 happened they took C-3PO or “Goldman” and wiped his memory. 3PO has no memory before the empire. R2 has all his memories. This is why 3PO always questions R2.

17:40 you’ll learn more later on but r2 and Goldman did a lot of intel gathering for the rebels early on. It worked out fairly well became r2 has never had his memory wiped so he always knew the mission while Goldman has had his wiped multiple times so he is mostly used as cover.
