This trailer made me realize that I have A LOT of catching up to do in the Fantastic Four world. What are the movies we need to check out before watching the movie this year?
I want to be adequately prepared for this one, because this movie looks FUCKING SICKKKKKKK!

They're not the best movies, but better then they get credit for. For any flaws they have, the movies do a pretty good job of nailing the personalities of the FF. The villains the failed at though

The only actual Disney Marvel one is Fantastic Four (2015) but it was straight up cut from the canon because it was so bad. Not only did the critics and audience not like it but the director himself said it was bad. There's a bit with Reed Richards in Multiverse of Madness but I don't think it really adds anything in terms of what to know for First Steps because it was a different reality. I'd say for sure watch 2005 and 2007. Other than that it's just up to you.

The second was a little less, but pretty cool for a few reasons that you'll find out. And the third we're revamping that failed in a couple of aspects, but nailed a few others and only gets attention for the failure. But it's still pretty good. I think they would all give you at least some context.

2025-02-18 22:38:45 +0000 UTCSince this one doesn't seem to touch on the origins of their powers much from the trailer, you only need to watch Fantastic Four (2005), and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007). You can ignore the one from 2015. Keep in mind that this new movie takes place in an alternate timeline set in the 1960. Thats why the retro high tech.
