Holy shit, this episode is FUCKING incredible. Like, no joke, one of the best in the entire series for me. You’ve got callbacks from earlier shit, like The Library, and that just ties everything together so well.
So the episode’s all about what happened to Appa after he got snatched up in The Library, and MY GOD, the way they lay it all out is just... damn. It’s like they took every little piece of the puzzle and smashed it together in the most satisfying way possible. The flashbacks hit you hard too. Like, you know Aang and Appa’s bond is tight, but when you really see it unfold, you can’t help but feel the weight of thir connection. Made my want to go hug Ozzy lol
This is hands down one of the greatest TV shows, period.... and I don't even think I've gotten to the point where I can adequately make that claim.
Anyway, that's WAY more than I normally write, but I loved this one! Sorry :) lol

That was until they discovered the sky bison. They formed such a strong bond with them that they gave up their ability to fly to connect with them

ONE: Appa is hit with a Shirshu Spit Dart. The lady June from Book One had a Shirshu in the Bato Of The Water Tribe episode. TWO: The kid from the circus clearly has the same eyes, and is voiced by the same actor as Aang. They really went out of their way to invoke Aang. THREE: Speaking of eyes being similar to Aang's, Ty-Lee (The acrobat chick) has similar eyes. A lot of people think she may be a descendant from the Air Nomads (She is rather care free). FOUR: The cut of Sumi and Azula fighting is very similar to Jet vs Zuko. FIVE: Remember when you thought The Swamp episode was filler? After the scene with Appa and Guru Patik, go rewatch that episode. There is A LOT of foreshadowing. SIX: You can actually see the panthers that interacted with Momo in the previous episode see Appa decsend in the city. SEVEN: Pabthees! That's another regular animal for the books (Not two animals combined/This place is weird). EIGHT: The guy that was blowing the whistle is the head of the Dai-Li, which we met in the City Of Walls And Secrets episode.
