Avatar: The Last Airbender | Book 2 | Episode 5 - "Avatar Day" (FULL EPISODE REACTION)

Hey guys!

Welcome to ANOTHER week of Avatar: The Last Airbender! This episode was really good, but it was definitely not my favorite. To me, my honest opinion is this: this entire episode was about Aang getting validation from outside perspectives, which doesn't make any sense to me.

Can someone help me understand the overarching point of this episode? Seems like at the end of the day, there is not any possible way that everyone will support the Avatar, and Aang should just accept that.

I still really enjoyed this one, but it just seemed a little weird. What do you guys think?

Love you all,

Alex

Spiders crawling inside the mouth while sleeping is actually verry common. Two times it happened to me xD, Accidentally swallowed one 😆

It is decently good...

Chin the Conquerer actually wasn’t tiny. Avatar Kyoshi was just a beast lol. She was well over 6 ft tall and she lived past the age of 200. She was a total badass tbh.

as someone who’s been through courts, i find it astonishing that you would call our justice system decently good. Plus you even practiced law LMAO

Seeing as you are enjoying this show as much as you are, I definitely recommend Legend Of Korra. It’s a great expansion of the world. It doesn’t tread the same ground as Avatar, but still feels familiar and builds off of this show. It’s definitely worth your time.

I really thought with all the kung fu panda reactions that Alex would recognise the mayor being voiced by the same guy as Po's dad the duck

Other than just his honor another reason why ang cares about what these people think of the Avatar is because they're fighting a war against the fire nation? And if everyone that is rallying around the Avatar is just a small group, they will lose, regardless of the avatar's power, meaning people's opinion. Matters very much, because if you don't have people behind you to fight in a war, you aren't significant at all in a war, meaning you're an ant, and the fire nation is a boot.

Alex did you catch that the voice of the village leader was Po’s Goose Dad? I like this episode, it starts to show the complicated relationship between Aangs past lives and how he chooses to live and be the avatar in this life. Also “Boomarang! You Do always come back!” is just great writing! 😆

This was a set up episode to set up the events that are going to happen in the other episodes. It’s not really a great episode or even really a good episode. It’s more of just prepping you for some of the best episodes ever without it. You couldn’t have the next set of episodes basically

"almost everywhere Sokka goes hes got some girl after him" He aint called "The Backbender" for no reason

John McFarland

The best thing about this episode is that Aang, Katara and Sokka could have just left at any point there are very few cages that can hold Aang, but he stayed because he felt he needed to clear his name.

Breezybaby

This episode is great because you get some backstory on avatar Kyoshi. The rest of the episode is kind of boring.

Be careful lookong ahead. I know you were looking at ratings, but there's an episode or two coming up that you should probably wait on looking at the episode titles

the reason aang doesn’t leave is because of his honor, alex might not care about people thinking bad about you which is fine but aang is not like that especially when it comes to his legacy and honor and the way he was raised. sure they can just leave but this episode highlights a certain behavior that you mentioned that is a real flaw in people, it’s not just about “who gives a fuck who thinks of you” it’s definitely a teaching moment like the great divide episode (filler) and even the zuko and iroh moments are academic, different flaws and emotions going on, maybe as a first time watch it’s not as enthralling to you but as a rewatch to me it’s so funny and i still to this day i take notes from what iroh says to zuko, it’s an important episode to me and not to mention avatar kyoshi’s presence is totally badass

TokyoLopez

You know a lot of people don't like this episode but I generally did because it just shows that not everyone is a fan of the Avatar..And I do like how Aang kinda Redeemed Avatar Kyoshi from a town that hated her. And here is one thing I do love about Avatar The Last Airbender compared to The Clone Wars is that The Clone Wars some episodes I do feel like they made the show dragged on In other words not important episodes. Whereas in ATLA even with some bad episodes they are still watchable and they are important to the show in some way.

Red powers

The best thing about Wednesday 👌🏼
