It inspired a whole lot of parodies, because of how bad it was. And a bunch of really horrible should've been straight to DVD sequels. The only horror element was gore... that's why I said slasher, sitcom, because it was kind of funny like a typical high school coming of age movie, then just happen to have a little gore. And the only reason that i'm responding to these at all is simply because someone said never comment again, so i'm commenting a bunch out of spite. Don't get me wrong, scream has its place just not with the other options available. And it revitalize the genre, because no one was doing them at all at the time. Horror is supposed to inspire fear, making you look around corners and turn the lights on, and it didn't do that. It's more of a murder mystery set inside of a high school coming of age story. Now something like sinister. That's a horror movie. It inspires fear, it makes you wanna turn the lights on, it makes you pay attention to those subtle movements out of the corner of your eye. I simply was showing through description, From someone who felt this way when it was first released (and I was 8, maybe not the best parenting choice but then again I watched child's play at 4 and kind of kept liking horror from then on), that the other options fit the polls' genre description better and then someone decided to attempt to silence and opinion that wasn't theirs, so I decided to not be silent and type out excessively long responses out of spite while still maintaining my original point. Also they are boboxer briefs lol and stay fairly loose lol

Sinister is a classic horror movie, a pioneer really in its genre. All of the others (with the exception of Get Out) have been done before, one’s a slasher, and the other is a remake. Sinister is one of those movies you saw when it came out and no other movie has given you the same feeling.
