Harry Potter & The Philosopher's Stone (FULL MOVIE REACTION)

Hey everyone!

We are now embarking upon our Harry Potter MARATHON REWATCH! I am so fucking excited for this! A lot of people said that when I initially watched this series, I missed A TON from 1) talking and making jokes (sorry, not too sorry) and 2) because there are so many jam-packed details in this movie that nobody could possibly catch with 1 watch-through.

I caught A SHIT TON of stuff that I didn't notice before, and I think this marathon reaction is going to be one of, if not the best, videos I've made!

I hope you guys enjoy the hell out of this reaction! :) You all are the best. Love you guys so much,

Alex

Harry Potter & The Philosopher's Stone (FULL MOVIE REACTION)

Btw James and McGonagall where not in the team at the same time. McGonagall was significantly older than James. R.I.P. Maggie Smith

caleb geater

For tips on how to do book reactions check out lynmoore on YouTube, I really enjoy how he does it and he has kind of the same vibe as you. I would LOVE to see you react to the books. I mean, the Harry Potter movies are great, but in my opinion they've got nothing on the books! šŸ˜„ Also, I'm pretty sure a quidditch game doesn't end until the snitch is caught, so a game can take weeks šŸ˜‚

Julie Bank

There’s a YouTube channel that basically recaps the books if Harry was placed into Slytherin. Makes for a great ā€œWhat Ifā€ story. I’d recommend reading the books first tho!! Ps: The Quidditch game doesn’t end UNTIL the snitch is caught! The only exception is if both team captains come to an agreement. The longest quidditch game lasted 3 months according to quidditch through the ages which I got as apart of a little box set of books from the books šŸ˜„

Rae Hagins

I cant be the only one thinking......"Fuckin' blow your nose cunt" ahahaha

Shaun Valladares

came here to write that ahaha

Shaun Valladares

Anyone else notice the fire alarm going off at about the 1hr 25min mark?

Cody M

Maybe give the audiobooks a try? Some how make a video on them (I also got Hufflepuff when I wasnt huge into Harry Potter, after playing Hogwarts Legacy and getting more into the series, I love that I got Hufflepuff)

Cody M

The Philosopher's Stone is a real legend believed to exist by alchemist. It's a stone that can turn all metals to gold and give the user eternal life. Alchemist have been trying for centuries to create it. Rowling based the plot of the first book around this legend. The book is actually called Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The producers at Warner Brothers thought this name was too boring and wouldn't appeal to kids so they changed it to Sorceror's stone. I personally think this is ridiculous. The Philosopher's Stone was the perfect name.

Raj Hudek

I was just getting ready to give the long-winded book version of why he had to stay with the Dursley's every Summer, but TwoWheelTorque covered it! His aunt was a blood relative so the protection spell his mom cast to protect Harry right before her death is extended/enhanced through the blood of all blood relatives including his "loving" aunt!

Raj Hudek

Nah, it’s funny as hell

David IvaŔkovič

I think he changed the name of the gaming channel and basically hid it cause he was going to remake it or something to that effect. He said at his last QaA.

MƄrten

Knowing Alex got Hufflepuff is awesome. FOR HUFFLEPUFF!!

Lewis Ramos

What channel was it on?

Lewis Ramos

Are You Doing The Entire Series?

Lauren Marie Hutton

Not a fan of the idea of a new live action series. With all the amazing cast members from the movies that passed away its going to upset people no matter who they cast or how well they manage to bring the story to life. I really wish they would do an animated series instead. OR a live action based on the story in Hogwarts legacy the video game.

Heretic

kys, nasty pos. No excuse for that hate its almost 2025 not 1825.

Heretic

I need to see him react to the Harry Potter vs luke Skywalker epic rap battle of history

Watch Kierra Lewis on TikTok. She does reactions for the Harry Potter books. You could do something similar!

Funny thing is when she is boiling that big ass pot at the first there was no point in even adding that without explanation but in the books she is dying Dudley’s old clothes grey for Harry to wear like an over large elephant ear to his new school before wizard school came up

SuperSaiyanN9ne

Am I the only one who misses his constant joking

Colin Elgin

The reason he has to return to the Dursley’s is because of his motherā€˜s love protection she sacrificed herself to save Harry and that magic only continues to work (preventing Voldemort from finding him and killing him) at a relative with his motherā€˜s blood so her sister is the only reason Voldemort can’t hurt him while he’s at theDursleyā€˜s. He needs to return at least once a year to extend the protection until he’s 18. They don’t really explain it in the movies, but Dumbledore goes in depth in the book.

TwoWheelTorque

For the book reaction what about the audio books!?

Max Kreeft

Is that actually the reason though? Just lying a couple times here and there? And just some books? I never read the book so I don't know the real reason, but that is not convincing.

Coleman

I am 41% Gryffindor, 25% Slytherin, 22% Ravenclaw, and 12% Hufflepuff!

Roland Elving

Alex, I love you SO much but seriously? Harry has to go BACK to his aunt and uncle every summer and THAT'S why they didn't want him to go to Hogwarts. That means that, to the family that hates magic, they have to lie year after year about where Harry goes to school (because people know that they take "care" of him), and deal with all the magic spellbooks and such that Harry brings home. The Dursleys didn't want him to know so that they never had to deal with the real issues of what was going on lol ignorance at its' best

Geneva Cervantez

harry is from the bloodline of the third brother and tom riddle the second brother in the deathly hallows

Ally Riot

If you think about doing a book reaction check out the Podcast Potterless by Mike Schubert. It’s not video form but maybe you can get some ideas there.

Mathias Trzil

This is a disgusting comment. It’s 2024. Do better

Myranda

That troll is not a pervert. It’s just an average trans woman.

Ryan Rothenbach

I thought I was going crazy, I knew I heard the fire alarm. His apartment is burning down and he’s just there watching Harry PotteršŸ˜‚

Tyler Evans

As a book reader, I'm actually THRILLED they are making a TV series. The movies were good for movies, but there's not nearly enough time to cover all of the details from the book and they strayed away from the books quite a bit. The show is supposed to be a more faithful adaptation, so I'm very hopeful!

Matt McNeill

I had never seen these movies, but realized that I can’t watch Alex’s rewatch reaction until I watch the movie myself. Alex gives major spoilers!

Fun facts/answers to some of your questions: Hogwarts is in Scotland. It is filmed in Alnwick Castle, Oxford University and Christ Church College. In the books/films it has numerous charms and spells on and around it that make it impossible for a Muggle to see it or locate it. They only see ruins and several warnings of danger. This book/film is called the Philosopher's Stone in English everywhere but in the US - not including translations. For instance, in Icelandic it's "Viskusteinninn" which literally translates to "The Wisdom Stone". Similarly, the Chamber of Secrets is "Leyniklefinn" and translates to "The Secret Chamber". But the original title in English is the same, even in Canada. It was changed by the US publisher and J.K. Rowling because they thought kids in the USĀ wouldn't want to readĀ a book with "philosopher" in the title, since it commonly refers to a scholar of philosophy rather than an alchemist or a wizard. RowlingĀ has since said that she regrets having granted permission for the title change, but as a new author she wasn't in a strong enough position to fight it at the time (they even asked her to use the initials J.K. instead of her first name Joanne because apparently teenage boys wouldn't want to read a book written by a woman). The philosopher's stone is anĀ actual real-life legend; an alchemical substance of legend capable ofĀ turning base metals such as mercury into gold or silver. It is also called the elixir of life, used forĀ achieving immortality. Additionally, Nicolas Flamel was a real person, anĀ (alleged) alchemist believed to have created the stone. Fun fact: Each scene where the stone is mentioned in the films had to be shot twice, with "philosopher's" or "sorcerer's". The houses and what they represent: Gryffindor - Bravery, chivalry, honor, helping others, determination, recklessness, self-righteousness, short tempered and a desire to always be the hero. Someone who stands up for the little guy, challenges authority and has a tendency to act first & think later. Hufflepuff - Hard work, patience, loyalty, modesty, dedication, kindness and fairness. Someone who has a strong moral compass, is usually accepting of everyone and rarely starts arguments. (I am a proud Hufflepuff!) Ravenclaw - Intelligence, wisdom, knowledge, creativity, originality and wit. Someone who is academically motivated, logical, curious, eccentric, and accepting of people & things that others would consider 'weird'. Slytherin - Ambition, cleverness, cunningness, resourcefulness, pride and self-preservation. Someone who is always one step ahead, has a dark sense of humour, thinks reputation is important, doesn’t let anyone (or almost anyone) see their soft side and is possibly destined for greatness. While a lot of dark witches and wizards have been in Slytherin, not all of them are bad. I am a proud Hufflepuff! The house colours represent the four elements: Gryffindor is red and gold (fire), Slytherin is green and silver (water), Hufflepuff is yellow and black (earth - wheat and soil) and Ravenclaw is blue and bronze (air - sky and eagle feathers). Prof. McGonagall (Transfiguration) is head of Gryffindor. An M.G. McGonagall won best seeker in 1971 but it cannot have been Minerva as she was already a teacher at Hogwarts byĀ 1910. Prof. Snape (Potions) is head of Slytherin, Prof. Sprout (Herbology) is head of Hufflepuff and Prof. Flitwick (Charms - the one teaching Wingardium Leviosa) is head of Ravenclaw. When they first started filming Daniel Radcliffe was 11, Rupert Grint was 12 and Emma Watson was 10. Chris Columbus wanted Daniel for the role of Harry since he saw him inĀ BBC's production ofĀ David Copperfield, which he starred in with some of his future co-stars in Harry Potter, likeĀ Maggie Smith (McGonagall) and ZoĆ« Wanamaker (Madame Hooch). J.K. Rowling approved and said they couldn't have found a better Harry. William Moseley, who was later cast asĀ Peter PevensieĀ inĀ The Chronicles of NarniaĀ series, also auditioned for the role. Having seen an ad for open casting, Rupert sent in a video of himself rapping about how much he wanted the part of Ron, and was successful. Emma's Oxford theatre teacher passed her name on to the casting agents and she had to do over 5 interviews before she got the part of Hermione. Richard HarrisĀ only agreed to the part of Dumbledore after his 11 year old granddaughter threatened never to speak to him again. Tom FeltonĀ originally auditioned for Harry and Ron before getting the part of Draco. Robin Williams and Rosie O'Donnell asked to play the roles of Molly Weasley and Rubeus Hagrid respectively, without pay, but were turned down because J.K. Rowling wanted only British and Irish actors in the films. RowlingĀ hand pickedĀ Robbie Coltrane (RIP) Maggie Smith andĀ Alan Rickman (R.I.P.)Ā for their roles. Uncle Vernon is played by Richard Griffiths and Ollivander is played by John Hurt (R.I.P. to both of them). Furthermore, Nearly Headless Nick is played by John Cleese. Interesting fact: Daniel Radcliffe, who's eyes are blue, was initially meant to wear green contact lenses to match Harry's eye colour as well as his mother's, but the lenses gave him an allergic reaction so after consultation with Rowling, it was agreed that Harry could have blue eyes. However, he does have them in the last scene which was actually the first one that was filmed, and his green eyes are clearly visible in close-ups. In contrast, Ron has blue eyes in the book but Rupert Grint has green eyes. Emma Watson also wore fake buck teeth but she couldn't talk clearly with them. The floating candles in the Great Hall were practical. The were suspended from wires that moved up and down on a special effects rig to create the impression that they were floating. Eventualy one of the wires snapped due to the heat of the flame, causing the candle to fall on the floor. Fortunately no one was injured but the decision was made to re-create the candles using CGI for the following films. If underage magic outside of Hogwarts is illegal why did Ron not get in trouble for attempting to turn Scabbers yellow or Hermione for fixing Harry's glasses? 1. The main reason why underage magic is illegal is to prevent it from being exposed to Muggles. 2. Magic is allowed while traveling on the Hogwarts Express. 3. It is only illegal once students actually start attending Hogwarts. 4. The Ministry can detect WHERE magic is performed but not specifically WHO has performed it. The amount of magic on Hogwarts Express and Diagon Alley is going to be off the charts, so there would be no way for them to know who cast what spell. 5. Some people don't think the Scabbers one is a real spell (sidenote: After Prisoner of Azkaban it makes sense as to why Ron couldn't make Scabbers yellow — because the spell only works on rats). I always wondered about why Ron couldn't just move during the chess game. In the book he learns from one of the chess pieces that each of them have to stand in for a piece and then the replaced piecesĀ walk off the board.Ā Ron isn’t riding the knight, heĀ ISĀ the knight, just like Harry and Hermione are different pieces. I assume they changed it for the film to make it look more dramatic. Also, the scene in the book doesn’t reflect especially well on Harry as he doesn't seem that concerned for Ron. But the general rules still apply and Ron can't simply walk across the chess board because it’s against the rules of the game. The game isn't valid unless every piece is in place and since no one is riding the horse then the Knight isn't playing. I do agree it doesn't make much sense for the Dursleys to take Harry in when they clearly don't like him/hate him, but there is something that is never explained in the films. Harry HAS to stay with the Dursleys because when Lily sacrificed herself she invoked an ancient and powerful spell in which her blood serves as protection for Harry against Voldemort. As her sister, Petunia, is her closest living blood relative, Harry is protected as long as he stays where she stays until the age of 17. Also, there was a scene in the book and a deleted scene in Deathly Hallows Part 1 which suggested that Dudley and even Petunia did care for Harry, even just a little bit. They don't really explain Quidditch properly in the films. The way it works is that the seeker who catches the Golden Snitch earns the team 150 points and ends the game. But the team with the most points overall wins, so catching the snitch alone doesn't guarantee a win. Muggles can't see certain types of magic, like them running into the platform, due to an Illusion Charm and a Muggle-Repelling Charm. They just see a regular wall. "Great" in this case means "big". WWI was referred to as "The Great War" as it was big and important. Voldemort was great in that he was powerful, intelligent and gifted, butĀ he used all of that for evil. He was "great" due to the enormity of his power and his crimes. Fun little details is when Neville is holding the remembrall which tells him he's forgotten something, he is not wearing his robes... because he forgot to put them on. When Harry's scar hurts first when he sees Snape, the back of Quirrell's head (Voldemort) is facing him. Mirror of Erised = Desire backwards. Dumbledore gave Harry the invisibility cloak. Name meanings: In French, Voldemort means "Flight of Death". Malfoy comes from "mal foi", meaning "bad faith" or "unfaithful". Gryffindor comes from "Griffon d'or", meaning "Golden griffin". When Hermione meets Harry for the first time she says ā€œHoly cricket, you’re Harry Potter!ā€ That was improvised byĀ Emma Watson. Dudley saying "I'm not Harry" to Hagrid is funnier if you know that Dudley's actor's name is Harry.

Heida

Yeah there are a lot of plot holes in Harry Potter. Biggest one in my opinion is what Alex described in the start of the first one. Harry's foster family would never fight that hard to keep Harry with them. They despised him.. so yeah they absolutely would send him away first chance they get.

Mike1-19

Audiobook reaction to Harry Potter would be great haha

Cohen Phillips

I second this, half blood Prince cut so much content

Jordan Dempster

They did release a standalone quidditch game fairly recently. Haven't played it myself but it has gotten decent reviews so might be fun to try.

MƄrten

Oh I just found it was on a channel I didn't know existed. Don't usually watch game streaming so hadn't looked for a channel for it.

MƄrten

Which part of it?

MƄrten

Obscurous also dumbledores sister was one

Jordan Dempster

I think he has

Jordan Dempster

Prisoner of Azkaban as it was the closest adaptation

Angela Lopez

Ik i was dying 🤣🤣

Chad Higgins

Yeah I've seen some creators will have a live chat event and have a book club thing for one or two chapters. Totally would be a part of that

Leah Boerigter

Yeah I know, just sad… :(

Abram Holterman

On his lives on twitch, there’s also a channel for music video suggestions on his discord

Purple Cowboy

Natalie Gold and Media Knights often watch movies they’ve already seen before. Not such an uncommon thing actually (that is unless you count all the insanely bad quality reaction channels as well, where they basically comment on 2 things and the rest is just ā€œoh wowā€ or ā€œthat was interestingā€).

Purple Cowboy

The last two, because my brother worked on the VFX in those

Natalie Gold and Media Knights often watch movies they’ve already seen before. Not such an uncommon thing actually (that is unless you count all the insanely bad quality reaction channels as well, where they basically comment on 2 things and the rest is just ā€œoh wowā€ or ā€œthat was interestingā€). I only watch 4 reaction channels because they’re all unique, two have ppl working in the film industry but in different fields, but both give different perspectives of the whole production, one is entertaining (that’d be Alex) and one goes more into detail about the technical aspects. All the rest don’t have the quality in sound, picture, commentary or entertainment, which then just makes them pointless to watch.

Purple Cowboy

Yes, because as he has said LOTR won’t happen before 2025

Purple Cowboy

I bet Santa Clause is more plausible to these kids who have magic than to muggle kids šŸ˜„

Andrew Pudwill

that's because Alex has openback headphones, so the sound leaks out of them and gets picked up by his mic.

NinoDonDino

Seeing as you have become quite the fan of Harry Potter, you might want to try the Hogwarts Legacy videogame. It is a pretty damn good game. Would be cool to maybe stream or film a video of you playing it. If there is ever time for it.

MƄrten

The text on the Mirror of Erised says "I show not your face but your heart's desire" backward. Erised is Desire backward.

jonoghue

You should look up the deleted scenes for this movie, I feel they really shouldn't have been deleted because they help give context to a few situations, like the giant-ass bucket on the stove at the dursleys' and Dudley's fancy clothes

jonoghue

The building is burning down while he’s distracted with Harry Potter šŸ˜‚

BeePrimeGaming

Not just you

Alex Georgiadis

When should we be expecting the chamber of secrets to drop?

Alex Georgiadis

Is there an echo or is it just me?

Madeline J. Beezie

Bro are you ok?

Lee Smith

Where did you get that shit Alex?!

Lee Smith

The dursleys didn't want Harry to leave because they even if he left for Hogwarts during the school year he would still come back during the summer and no more magic and they didn't want magic anywhere near them. As Harry grew up they attempted to make him suppress that magic by beatings and punishments and stuff like that which is very dangerous for Wizard children because he could have become I forgot what it's called but credence is one in Fantastic Beasts. I think him being a horcrux stop that from happening though

Carmen

Before replying please read the whole! I said I have nothing against gay people. The thing is you see it every where that they change gender and race to get woke points. In the Netflix show Fate this is literally what they did. They had a straight female character who wasn't popular enough so they made her gay to please the audience. So this isn't something I made up it's happening. I just hope they don't do stuff like this to the Harry Potter world.

Thomas

Why would they make Harry and Ron gay, this just seems like a random thing to bring up to hate on gay people

Slaya806

I get what you mean, but once he saw the other movies, it seems he’s been doing other Harry Potter stuff on his own so he’s obviously gonna learn a couple of these details

Slaya806

I just find it hilarious throughout the ENTIRE movie, fire alarms and sirens are going off but everytime he took his headphones off they'd stop 😭😭

One can wish for Christmas šŸ™šŸ„¹

Elvis Posimistic

Heyyyy brother!

Nathaniel Nichols

For a book reaction you could post one for each book and you could give a review for each chapter

Yuhhh

Didn't realize he'd been having issues.

Nick Sillett

Yes, I know that, I've seen the other reactions about 10 times each. Maybe I can't explain what I mean through text... I'll just go to sleep

crackdobby

This is a rewatch marathon hes doing, so hes already watched these movies some time ago.

MrPeran

Well I’m worried patreon isn’t working for him the second week in a row

Michael

Where’s the clone wars today? Is patreon refusing to work again?

Michael

I love my dude Alex but does anyone else feel like he looked things up beforehand and he's faking having revelations during the movie?

crackdobby

YES! You’re not the only one who wants to see a Marauders storyline!!

Kensi Barlow

YESSS I NEEDED THIS!

Emmalp_xo

Never been an issue before. Just making sure everything is ok.

Nick Sillett

Alex, you should check out some Super Carlin Brothers videos. They have an entire What-If series on if "What if Harry was in Slytherin?" and it's phenomenal work, and story and theory crafting!

DarnedStingray8

Bruh he lives in Hawaii its like 10am there

AdermGaming

Also never noticed before that there's also a Quidditch medal for McGonnagal. And they even included the medal "for special services to Hogwarts" in the scene which Tom Riddle got (I think)

SwissNightOwl

We need a "Should Alex start listening/reading the books" poll, because there's so much important and interesting information that got left out of the movies.

DarnedStingray8

Since you like watching these so much you should watch the fantastic beasts movies

Draven Scott

As commented by Miss Molly I'd say listen to the audio books, they are reaaaally good and it might be easier to react to that vs reading the books.

SwissNightOwl

No clone wars today?

Nick Sillett

I am fearful for the series. I think it will become woke. But we will see if they make Harry and Ron gay that would be a red flag for me. Nothing against being gay but only when it fits the story. And here woke stuff doesn't fit.

Thomas

all the questions you ask about the plot and reasoning about the way characters act in this story, are answered in the books but the movies just left out

Aapeli MƤki

I love John Williams. I am watching this while I work and I keep thinking I am watching Star Wars because of the music, lol.

Culper (Lukas)

Fully agree, it's not something I've really thought about before but now that I've been around long enough to see it manifest, it's making me want more. There are some reactions to movies I've watched multiple times just because I love the movie and the reactor so much, so it would just keep things fresh to be able to watch it again with a different, maybe slightly more relaxed commentary. Like sitting down with a friend to watch a movie you both know and love.

Turnt SNACO

Still love it though :)

Abram Holterman

We got a Harry Potter rewatch before LOTR :(

Abram Holterman

i love that youre willing to go back and rewatch things. theres so much value in a rewatch and most channels bank on a "first time reaction" this angle is so much more interesting and unique to me!

Banana Hammocks

Goblet of fire has always been my favorite and deathly hallows pt1 was always my least favorite that being said i love them all even the fantastic beasts trilogy (which i was not including when i said deathly hallows pt1 was my least favorite lol)

Matthew

That fire alarm was tormenting him the whole moviešŸ˜‚

Devin Brown

All of them as a marathon is my favorite HP movie šŸ˜…

Elizabeth D

Also I don't know where you're watching these, but last I checked, Peacock has the Extended versions, if you want to watch them with deleted scenes. A lot of it is fluff or stuff worth cutting, but there's a few gems worth seeing, especially assuming you didn't the first time.

Turnt SNACO

The only thing the Dursleys hate more than Harry being under the same roof, is the thought of him experiencing a shred of joy or happiness. They would rather endure his presence in their home than know he was somewhere out there enjoying his life. That's why they didn't even want him to go to Hogwarts in the first place, and only succumbed when they realized it was a battle they ultimately wouldn't win.

Turnt SNACO

What’s your favorite Harry Potter movie everyone

Anders.hellevang

As someone who watches TONS of first time reactions to this series, yours probably being one of the first I saw, this is an exciting premise to me. Like I said, I watch a lot of first time viewers, but they rarely catch everything - and a few times I've watched with people VERY familiar with the series. But a second watch with the specific intent to see what you didn't the first time is a very refreshing idea. I mean, it's something most people would do with a series they liked at some point anyway, I'm just glad you're recording and documenting it so we can come along for the ride. 😊

Turnt SNACO

The TV series is something I look forward to as someone who’s read the books. The movies left out a lot, understandably. There were heaps of scenes and characters that didn’t make it to screen, not even deleted scenes, that made me go ā€œOHH! That’s why!ā€ while I read each book. The movies made Ron look a bit dumb but in the books, he’s just as smart as hermione. The movies had Hermione discover and say some parts Ron does in the books. They also butchered Ginny’s character and relationship with Harry. There’s heaps more. I love the films and grew up watching them and still watch them now. The actors did a phenomenal job and will always be remembered, but after reading the books twice through now since the start of last year, I totally support and understand why there is a TV series on its way. JK is going to be more involved which is a good thing since she knows what the characters and scenes are meant to portray and the series will be true to the books. Each season will be for each book. Goblet of Fire was the one that was changed the most movie wise. They will also cast a young Snape, James, Lily etc for Season 5 which is the largest book, Order of the Phoenix. It gives a full backstory into the Marauders.

Angela Lopez

Sooo Each level (devils share, flying keys, wizards chess, mirror of erised) were levels set up by teachers to protect the stone. Devils snare by Prof Sprout of Herbology, flying keys by Prof Flitwick of Charms, Wizard Chess by Prof McGonnogal and The Mirror by Dumbledore. In the books, there is a level between the chess and mirror which was set up by Snape and Quirrel. Quirrel had a troll and Snape’s consisted of potions and he had to figure out a riddle to drink the right one to get through to the mirror of Erised. Also, Erised spelt backwards is Desire, fitting for what the mirror reflects. The reason Quirrel burns and crumbles at Harry’s touch is because of the power of love his mother provided in her sacrifice, in his blood. Which is why in the fourth film Voldemort uses Harry’s blood to be resurrected and says ā€œshe provided the ultimate protection, I could not touch him, it was old magic… but no matter.. I can touch you now.. amazing what a few drops of your blood can do Harryā€

Angela Lopez

I think it would be so cool for you to do reactions to the books. Whether it’s just on Patreon, or if you do a special series on YT. I think it would be cool if you did it in somewhat of a bookclub/report format where you read like several/a few chapters at a time and afterwards you could summarize or talk about the chapters you read, compare to the films, etc. and cut it all into one video where by the end, you can give your final reaction to the book and compare to the movie and whatnot. I think it would be really dope, not sure about everyone else. If you like this idea, you could always do a Patreon poll to see if that’s something people would be interested! :))

Garrett Bishop

To answer ur question Philosopher stones has basis in reality but in this world its same thing UK used philosophers stone Us used sorcerer stone American publishers apparently thought sorcerer felt more magical and whimsical then philosophers stone

I'm not a big fan of the movies, but I'm a HUGE fan of the books. If you read the book (or the absolute best way, is to listen to the audiobooks voiced by Jim Dale. Theyre perfect) and made notes of things you want to talk about, then recorded that... I'd love to see that. Just so you could understand how amazing the books are. All the differences, and information that you miss out on with the just the movies. In any case, it's always my happy place to watch your reactions! Thanks for doing what you do!! ā¤ļø

There is a YouTube channel called SuperCarlinBrothers that do super rad theories on Harry Potter including one where they delve into the psychological and personal perspective of how the story would unfold if Harry were a Slytherin. Might be worth a peek if your up for it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEUJNxhCm-U&pp=ygUqc3VwZXJjYXJsaW5icm90aGVycyBoYXJyeSBwb3R0ZXIgc2x5dGhlcmlu

Also in most of the adventures... Hermione is using the alohamora spell to unlock a door that they need to get through at some point in the film( the first time she used it, Ron, genuinely asked her what the spell was to make sure he was saying it right hinting that he wanted to be able to open the door in the future.... and then in the final movie... Ron finally opens a door for Hermione when he speaks parcel tongue to open the chamber of secrets so that they could get the basilisk fang.

Look at the YouTube channel ā€œSuper Carlin Brothersā€ they are experts in everything Harry Potter and did a few fan fiction series on their channel, including ā€œWhat if Harry was in Slytherinā€

Also I don't know if this is a real thing. But you noticed the remember all showed that he forgot something and he wasn't wearing his robe... With there, try to fly on the brooms Neville has his robe meaning he did remember thanks to the remember-all... and then his broom goes haywire, most likely a spell cast to try to kill harry... and then the two places Neville should have died the statue holding the spear should have killed him, but by chance his robe got snagged, and then if that had it got him the Torch cage was like a second possible death that was also stopped by his robe getting caught... Essentially, if he hadn't received the remember-all he would have died. Another life saved by an action taken from future knowledge.

Yes if Harry didn't have the prior knowledge of Slytherin and the will to not be in it he wouldve been in Slytherin I recommend you watch the Super Carlin Brothers theory videos about it it's a great rendition of what would've happened if he did end up as Slytherin

With Snape's questions, when he first speaks to harry... He not only tells him how he felt about his mother, but also the very next question, he asks him where he could find a bezoar..... and later in the half blood prince, with rod is poisoned, Harry uses something to save. His life goes directly to it like he knew where it was, and knew what to do with it... And weather in the infirmary double door says. Good thinking using the bezoar... he told harry how to save ron's life in the future🤯

Michael Shelton

Also I know a lot of writers come up with names of the sound of things and what the character just tells them, but I love that in this, she went deep for at least one character... Draco malfoy means snake of bad faith

Michael Shelton

I know we're watching Harry Potter and I'm so down for it. Absolutely awesome choice to revisit these, but... you telling me you've never seen Joe Dirt!!!! That has to be a movie we watch together. And oh my god, it will be a glorious day for us all!!! Is the words of the character John Hammond from Jurassic Park "It's right up your alley"

Michael Shelton

So glad you're watching this movie during this time of year. I'd always see ABC Family teeing up the Halloween season with the HP series. Love to see it!!

Dumbledore takes the lights in the opening scene so that the neighbors don’t see Harry being dropped off by a giant on a flying motorcycle. Something else about the delluminator is when someone says the name of the weirder, the weirder can her what they say and can even evaporate to their location. This is most likely why dumbldor knows so much about what is going on. Also, it’s likely the reason why Dumbledore was able to get to Harry with details of what happened by the end of the film.

Honestly man, even if it would be a hell of a undertaking, would’ve been sweet if you read the books then rewatched the films. Their seriously 2 separate experiences entirely. The films do pretty good up until the 3rd film that’s when they start having issues with fitting everything in the book into the films and don’t even get me started of the goblet of fire that book alone could be 3 feature length films. But seriously man I would be down to watch so vids of you reviewing the books

Nightmareman99

Hey Alex, just got to the part where you asked about a good way to do a book review video… There are a couple reactors on YouTube that I follow who are doing just that! I enjoy BOTH of them for their own unique styles! 2 totally different types so you can see some ideas: (Both creators saw the movies first, and are 1st time HP readers) @VeggieGamer - VERY LONG (3-5 hrs) detailed notes on each chapter (2-3 chapters per video, 1 video/month) including a ā€œbook clubā€ where patrons can comment and Veggie reads them out and discusses different views on events from the book. Currently 3/4 or so through Goblet of Fire. @JakeReactsYT - SHORT (15-20 mins) camera on him while reading (only shows highlights), but reacts in real time to passages. Short discussion and thoughts after. 2-3 chapters per video, 1 video/week. I believe his are only up on Patreon currently, but he is planing to do a compilation once he finishes Sorcerer’s Stone and put it on YT. There are also a lot of ā€œfirst time reading HPā€ vlogs on YouTube I’ve come across, usually one book per video. Some are okay, some are meh. I personally like seeing real emotions while reacting to certain book scenes, and the discussions of book/movie differences in plot and character traits. These 2 do a really good job!

Did you notice that the first time Quirrell met Harry, he didn't want to shake his hand since ya know, that would hurt?

Bmaster532

They do hate Harry, they hate him being happy, but they hate magic more. To them, letting him go to Hogwarts is mixing two things they absolutely despise having any contact with, Harry, and magic. Or, another way to put it, they hate Harry for being "abnormal/magical" inherently, so letting him become more of that by going to Hogwarts is worth putting up with him. So essentially they are the worst kinds of Muggles.

Nathaniel Nichols

Me too but holy imagine the amount of work it would be to go back and re-edit every one of them. I don't blame him for it lol

Nathaniel Nichols

so hyped
