I have been eagerly waiting to release this reaction for you guys! My honest opinion: I'm FUCKING STOKED!!! I was extremely unsure before watching this trailer because I love Steve as Captain America.
Although I love Anthony Mackie, watching Falcon and the Winter Soldier (which I liked) just didn't do ALL THAT MUCH for me, albeit, I enjoyed it a lot!
However, this trailer restored my faith in this movie and I am fucking pumped! I'll shut the fuck up so you guys can watch the trailer with me!

Good thing it’s just a movie we’re watching and not the comics. Marvel has deviated a lot from the comics in their movies. To say “But the comics said” is irrelevant to reasons why someone may or may not like a plot point in a movie. I didn’t agree then and I don’t agree now. Welcome to America.

2024-08-11 07:15:03 +0000 UTCCaptain America isn’t a single person it’s a symbol of hope and freedom. Fighting for what’s right. There have been numerous Captain Americas in the comics. Steve is Captain America just as much as Sam is Captain America. If that bothers you then don’t watch the movie.

2024-07-16 01:16:59 +0000 UTCRegarding Harrison Ford - it's worth noting that if you recall that in Captain America: Civil War, there was that politician with a big moustache who wanted the Avengers to sign the Sokovia Accords. That was the secretary of state, Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross played by William Hurt. William Hurt died in 2022 and Harrison Ford agreed to take over the part of Thaddeus Ross, who is now no longer secretary of state and instead has been elected president, and so that's why there is that little joke about "getting used to the new appearance" and why Harrison Ford mentions losing his moustache. And in the comics, "Red Hulk" is the alter ego of Thaddeus Ross, so we'll see how that plays out in the movie. But it's worth explaining that Harrison Ford's character isn't a NEW character, but a recasting of a character you're already familiar with.

Sure he’s not Steve rogers but he is captain America, his own version of the symbol, and he shows he can do things Steve wasn’t able to, like fly lol that you have to respect.

I really like that they're going back to the tone of Captain America 2 and 3, which was a lot more grounded and closer to a political thriller rather than an "out-of-this-world" superhero story about saving the entire universe.

I think Zemo said it best in Falcon & The Winter Soldier when they were talking about the gal taking the serum. Zemo said people who take the serum are on a path to supremacist ideals and will only escalate until killed. Bucky said the serum never corrupted Steve and Zemo said “But there has never been another Steve Rogers, has there?” Steve Rogers IS Captain America. Falcon is Falcon. Bucky is the Winter Soldier. Established characters can and should go and evolve but don’t call them something they aren’t. Also, if he doesn’t take the serum then what’s the point? Captain America IS a super soldier. His story doesn’t change.
