Thanks so much for understanding why I switched The Boys and Transformers! I feel much better reacting to this movie when I can give it my full undivided attention! I was actually pleasantly surprised with this one!
I feel like it's extremely hard to pull of sequels in today's day and age when everything is so repetitive. Granted, I feel like these movies definitely have a formula. But hey, I still enjoyed the hell out of it!
I hope you guys got some good value out of this reaction, as well! You guys are the best! Thank you so much for all the love and support! :)

2024-09-15 09:52:52 +0000 UTCThe problem with complaining about how long these movies are is that, as soon as you remove one of those scenes that you call fluff, then you have millions of people complaining that that wasn't in there, that it was cut out when they finally see the directors cut... And you think this is bad watch Lord of the ring's return of the king, there's so much fluff they could rival mypillow. The problem is, people have gotten too used to instant gratification that they can't just savor the moments and enjoy the story being told. They have to have it right now as condensed as possible and it has to fit into a genre box, which takes away from the overall experience. Not only that, all of it was already shot. So not putting it in the film, when it does add to it, and doesn't detract is a waste of a whole lot of money spent filming those scenes. That's just my two cents

2024-06-24 16:17:50 +0000 UTCYou kinda nailed it with the long, drawn out scenes, whether comedic or overly cinematic or fluff-filled. I'm not personally hating on them but yes, these movies could be more concise and narrowed to an easier to consume 1:30-1:45, or not make 2 hours feel like almost 3. It also gets hate from the nerds side (which yes I am one, yes I get it "suck it up nerds") where very many character designs, or even more importantly character personalities are changed just to fit Bay's needs. It'd be like making Batman kooky and always smiling, or Harry Potter an edge lord emo kid.

I love that they had Leonard Nimoy here as Sentinel Prime and gave him the Spock quote that he said in Star Trek “The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few” (or “the one”). I ended up buying a signed Michael Bay exclusive boxset after this came out

I believe he made 750k for the first one, 5 mil for the second, 15 mil for the third and passed on another 15 for the 4th. They offered 15 he wanted 18, they wouldn't it so he said, "pass".. ha. And went on to work on smaller roles and Indy films. I remember him saying he didn't want to keep doing the same thing over and over and wanted to do other characters, other stories etc. Don't blame him Cause instead of Transformers 4, he did Lawless with Tom Hardy ( i think it was a great film and really started to show that he can be a good actor), Fury, Man Down, Borg Vs McEnroe (I thought he was brilliant as McEnroe) then of course the Peanut Butter Falcon he was brilliant in, and his film Honey Boy... I think he's a very under rated actor

The entire making of these films is on YouTube. 3. The voice actor for SpongeBob himself is actually in these movies (he’s the tiny blue autobot that lives with Sam) I love transformers🤷♂️

2024-06-22 23:20:05 +0000 UTCI think the common complaint about these first 3 movies is that they are a bit too silly and excessive at times (whether that be the runtime that you mentioned or the over-the-top explosions and violence), but in some way that's also what makes these movies fun. They work perfectly well as simple entertainment for a couple of hours. The real problem with the Transformers franchise is all the movies following this one. Arguably they barely even qualify as movies, they are more like 2.5 hours of continuous product placements with catastrophic storytelling and acting. I'd definitely recommend you end your Transformers journey here and move on to new projects, but that's up to you and the next polls of course.
