Hereditary (FULL MOVIE REACTION)

Hey guys,

I know this one wasn't on the list, but something was telling me to watch a scary movie. I don't think I should have listened to that voice, because this was one of the scariest movies I've ever seen in my entire life.

If you like horror movies you will LOVE this reaction. That being said, I think if you don't like horror movies, you will also LOVE this reaction, because you will get to see my pain and misery... lol.

I hope you guys enjoy the extra movie we watch this week! I am so glad to be back in the swing of things after all the craziness! Let me know how you like the full movie being played with the reaction!

Much love, everyone!

-Alex

Hereditary (FULL MOVIE REACTION)

Comments

Omg

Jay Burton

I love how, when he is fully possessed by Paimon, Paimon seems traumatized by their ritual for him. Like Paimon himself was looking at it thinking, "wtf is wrong with these humans?"

Imnot Acop

Toni Collette's acting in this movie is some of the best I've ever seen.

Orchie

Dude this movie is so scary but your reaction and commentary has me over here dying man keep it up😂😂🫡

brayloom

He’s acting like that. Because he’s in pure shock

BlizzardKhaos

Womp womp, you are literally one person lol you don’t matter!

Jay Burton

I think this movie isn't scary as much as it disturbing to be honest.

MasterElodin

Cope more it's obvious by your own statements about the quality of the bottom corner video not being high enough quality but then say people would watch it over the original which is contradictory. Then I compared you getting bitchy about the legality to Karens getting onto skateboarders which is pretty much the equivalent of what you are doing.

Doctordirt

Yeah, because you decide whats objectively best? That's not subjective at all? Also cute namecalling :-) You really show your argumentative skills by using those, you know!

Geod123

This is objectively a better format so just unsubscribe. You're risking ruining the experience for the rest of us who aren't karens

Doctordirt

@Heida As I said above, peoples choices for subscribing are subjective. I stated my reasons and I`m not gonna bother explaining them again. And no, comparing it to YouTube`s rules is not "ridiculous", because Copyright LAWS are the same on EVERY site on the internet. Do you think that if I tomorrow decided to set up my own website, where I set the rules, that people would be allowed to stream any movie they wanted from it, just because my rules stated so? The reason YouTube enforce it as hard as they do, is because its the most popular video-site and they get more attention. And if you actually think Patreon doesn`t mention this, I can add a paragraph from Patreons own guidelines: "Intellectual Property Rights You need to either wholly own the content you submit to Patreon, or have the rights to use, display, and resell it. Any content you submit must comply with trademark and copyright laws. Content submitted for merchandise creation containing unauthorized copyright-protected or trademarked content is absolutely prohibited" Alex does not own the rights to use or display the movies/TV-shows, unless he has spent a ridiculous amount on distribution rights, therefore it is illegal for him to stream them without blurring movie and sound. Both according to copyright laws and Patreons own guidelines. As you say, it`s entirely up to Alex what he does, but I am not going to encourage him to do something that, in worse case, could get him kicked out from Patreon and lose part of his livelihood. Why other people would want that and actually encourages it, just so their experience with syncing etc. gets easier, I really don`t understand. That`s actively encouraging someone to break the law, where only Alex would suffer all of the consequences.

Geod123

@Good123 But the point is, you're watching HIS REACTION. That's the entire point. Otherwise you'd just watch the movie. And again, there are so many that do it like this and it's fine. I'm not advocating for downloading shit illegally but I'm just saying, if it was that serious then so many people wouldn't get away with it. Also, YouTube's rules are VERY different from Patreon's so comparing that is ridiculous. It's up to Alex what he does going forward but personally this is more convenient for me (and a lot of other people). I'm in a situation where I don't have a DVD player anymore and not all movies are available on all streaming sites, ESPECIALLY outside of the US. Also, I only have access to one computer and one phone that have streaming sites, and not necessarily both at the same time.

Heida

You should watch contagion. It's a great film.

Gregory_Mitchem

@Heida The reason why people subscribe to someone is entirely subjective. Does your reason for subscribing have to be the same as mine? I subscribe because I want to watch movies in a "watchalong" style with Alex, where I watch the movie on a big screen TV, while I have him on another screen getting his comments/reactions along the way. Because I find it funny/entertaining. The new format makes it more inconvenient to do that, and I explain why in my post. If you are pleased by watching Alex on a large screen reacting to a movie shown in a small corner, then that is entirely your choice, but that`s not what I want. Copyright with this format is an issue whether you like it or not. Just because someone hasn`t got caught, it doesn`t mean it isn`t illegal. If Alex doesn`t own the rights to the movies, he can`t legally stream it on a site to other people. It`s that simple. The reason why people haven`t got caught is most likely because the videos are behind a paywall and they aren`t big enough to get attention. Why do you think all reactors on Youtube always cut the movies into bits when they upload it to YT? Because if they show too much they know it will get taken down with copyright issues. Alex mentions in his Transformers 2 post that he contacted lawyers regarding this format and that Transformers 2 will probably be the last shown in this full movie style. I`m *guessing* that the lawyers told him that it`s illegal and if he is caught the channel could get taken down and he would get a hefty fine, but in reality there are small chances of him getting caught. If YOU choose to illegally download a movie due to not owning a DVD/Blu-ray/subscribe to a site which has the movie Alex watches, then that`s entirely up to you. There are astronomically small chances that you get caught and it won`t have any ramification. But if Alex gets caught, it might have large ramifications as they might take down part of his livelihood.

Geod123

@Peter Amet Really? Can you name some of them? Cuz I watch a lot of people who have done it this way for months/years and they've never gotten in trouble. Examples: Tea Time with Travis, Sean Thompson, Mr. Flicks, See Jane Go TV, JV's Galactic Adventures, Petty Pumpkins, Songs from a Suitcase, 7 Deadly Bananas etc.

Heida

1 and 2. You are on this site to watch HIS REACTION to the movie, not the movie itself. If you want to watch the MOVIE on a bigger screen then you're more than welcome to do that. 3. I am a member of a few people on Patreon and a lot of them do it this way and have done for years. So copyright doesn't seem to be an issue (unless they're just selective) and that's why I don't understand why others like him haven't been doing it like this. Again, since the whole point is watching HIS REACTION, you don't need anything to sync up. If anything, doing it the other way makes it more likely for people to pirate/download illegally because not everyone has the DVD/Blu-Ray or the streaming service the particular show/movie is on and not everyone has two different devices they can use or can split the screen in half.

Heida

If you're still here on Alex's channel, I am a member of a few people on Patreon and a lot of them do it this way and have done for years. So copyright doesn't seem to be an issue (unless they're just selective) and that's why I don't understand why others like him haven't been doing it like this. Also, we ARE paying to watch his reactions, which is what this is btw. If you want to watch the movie on a bigger screen then do that but this is HIS REACTION. And no one is piracing anything. Alex watches the shows/movies on streaming services he pays for (like this one on HBO Max) and again, since the whole point is watching HIS REACTION, you don't need anything to sync up. If anything, doing it the other way makes it more likely for people to pirate/download illegally because not everyone has the DVD/Blu-Ray or the streaming service the particular show/movie is on and not everyone has two different devices they can use or can split the screen in half.

Heida

Great reaction! You should watch The Ring.

Henry Carhart

I`m not really sure you know how copyright infringement works? Honest question. Shorter version: If he watches a movie and the video and sound is blurred out to make it unwatchable and I have him on one screen (Ipad/Mobile/PC), while I stream the movie from a site I subscribe to (Netflix, Max, Disney+ etc.) on my TV, no one breaks any copyright laws. Which is what he always has done, and what is "all" reactors do to avoid copyright infringement. We both watch the movie from a site we have paid for and we only stream it to ourselves. Longer version: If I subscribe to Netflix and watch a movie on their site, I`m not in violation of any copyright issues. However, if I subscribe to Netflix and decide to stream one of their movies on a streaming platform to other people, while charging $2 a month for it, I am in violation of the copyrights for the movie/site. That`s basically what IPTV is, only in a lesser version , and is basically what happens with these videos now. However, if Alex puts out a video where he lets us know when he starts the movie and the video and sound is blurred for the duration of it while he comments on it, and I watch the same movie on a site which I subscribe to, then there is NO copyright infringment. This is basically what all reactors do and what Alex always has done. We both pay for the movie, he doesn`t violate any copyright laws by streaming the movie to 3000 people, and I get to watch the movie with full screen and the sound level I want, while I get Alex`comments next to me on another screen. So there is absolutely no contradiction here. He streams it and comments on it while it is blurred out and I watch it simultaneously on a platform which I subscribe to. I get to watch it on a full TV screen with high resolution and sound, while I hear his comments during the movie. No copyright issues.

Geod123

Bruh, I will start off by saying I am not trying to convince you to stay subscribed that's entirely up to you of course, but i must point out the fact that your entire comment contradicts itself. You complain about the small movie preview, missing out on dialogue, resolution or not being able to hear the movie... Then you say you don't like copyright infringement... So which is it? If you want to watch the full resolution movie with the best audio experience then go watch the movie properly? If you want to watch Alex react to content(full length and UNEDITED) then stay here. There is no two ways about it and I'm sorry if i sound like I'm being cruel but seriously, how are you supposed to experience Alex's full reaction WITHOUT copyright infringement while clearly seeing and hearing the entire movie like as if you own the rights to watch it???

Kobain Hine(Kyber)

I am honestly worried Patreon is gonna step in, have seen many reactors be taken down/have to delete many videos when they do it this way, BUT Alex did it better before not sure why it's changed but I am with you.

Peter Amet

I completely share your opinion

David

This is exactly what I needed today 👍❤️🙌

Shelley Palevo

Hope you read this Alex, even though it`s a bit long. I`m sorry, but this new format is, unfortunately, possibly a deal breaker on my subscription. I`ll respectfully try to explain why: 1. I do not want to watch the movie/TV-show on a small screen in the corner of the reaction. It destroys the experience. Imagine having to watch Star Wars, Pirates of the Carribbean or Lord of the Rings (when you decide to watch those movies) on a small screen without the proper resolution and sound. Of course I can still use two screens (as I`ve always done), but with this format you will now get movie sounds from both TV and Ipad/PC simultaneously, which is really annoying. If the volume isn`t loud enough on the reaction-screen I can`t hear you and if it`s too loud the movie-sounds interfere with the sound from the TV. It`s a lose-lose situation. 2. It screws up part of the reaction and comments by you. There were part of the reactions where one couldn`t hear you due to loud sounds in the movie (like the shocking car scene). Also one will miss several parts of the movie dialogue when you`re talking. With two screens one is able to control this much better with different volume levels. I love your reaction, but I want to watch and hear the movie as well. 3. The obvious copyright infringment. By paying a few bucks a month everyone subscribed gets to watch the same movies and TV shows that you do without the proper subscriptions to the creators and legal owners. It`s not legal and it`s basically the same as IPTV. There`s a reason youtube don`t allow it. I see many comments like it, and maybe I`m in the few, but if you continue with this format, either please consider adding one version with the video and movie-sounds blurred out as before, or I`m afraid this is it for me. This format really screws over those who like to watch on two screens. I really don`t want to unsubscribe, as it`s really fun watching movies "alongside" you, but this format might do that. Hope you are doing well after all your troubles! TL;DR: Don`t like the new format, trying to explain why :)

Geod123

Sorry you went through that. It IS a very good movie but one where the bad guys win and a whole lot of family trauma is suffered in the name of something evil. Actually the ghosts of the grandma in the dark are there from the very beginning scenes, I'm sure you'll want to rewatch. :)

Monk Without a Cause

I love the new format! Not having to keep syncing the reaction with the movie is a relief. Thanks Alex!

Demtix

Personally I prefer the new format because I always have to re-sync after ads and it’s so annoying

KayJayO

hahahaha, this had me laughing a bit, too! Not knocking on religion or religious people, I just feel that it's a bit odd. Beginning a movie like this, knowing that you'll be uncomfortable/scared then having your bible right there for comfort.. xD Feels foolish to me.

Logan Kerlee

As far as the audio playing in the reaction - I wasn't a fan of it. I prefer the reactions to have the video playing onscreen silently with a timestamp playing alongside it so people can sync it up. It's what I'm used to.

Logan Kerlee

Alex, babe. You are not ready for this shit lol

john laflamme

Just so we're clear, I did NOT vote for this movie. I creeped me the fuck out, just like you, man. Never ever watching that bullshit again. No thank you. xD lol, I'm feeling all types of strange as a result of watching this. I had a splitting headache all throughout which didn't help anything.. I'm not a horror fan, plain and simple. Glad that it's over and not happy that I watched, xD Wow!

Logan Kerlee

I personally love this new format. Now I don’t have to sync up my phone and TV at the same time to watch along with the reaction.

Ryan “Rineran” Fox

Dude you’re just a toxic person. Stop using your energy to shit all over everything and everyone on the internet and put your focus towards something useful.

Ryan “Rineran” Fox

This movie got me traumatated

Anders.hellevang

Best watchalong I've ever watched along lol. I've never laughed so much watching a horror movie.

Collin Olson

OMG this is the first time I’ve ever synced up and watched along with a reaction and probably the last time I’ll be able to sit through this entire movie and still enjoy it. An absolute fucking masterpiece and I thoroughly enjoyed watching along with you. All around epic. Love you so much dude!

Rich Gee

It was way better than this trash

Ryan Rothenbach

The devo at the end was HILARIOUS. Same bro 🤣

Edward McEnderfer

Dunno who put a stick up your butt. If you don't put up a good case as to why and how, your comment is useless junk. Why is this format bad? What law? Literally anything more than you said would be more useful.

Edward McEnderfer

This movie wasn’t my thing.

Tara M. Wilcoxon

Dude has a full on Bible right on his shelf! 🤣 I didn't know anyone that just has one at the ready like Alex does.

Mike1-19

not sure how you don't prefer this since it's a reaction video. if I was watching my own movie then I could see where you're coming from but I'm here to see Alex's reaction.

Chad Higgins

Oh my god bro, you missed so much Lol she's literally chilling in the corner of her sons bedroom when he wakes up

Daniel Allen

As a person who watched a lot of YT content about this movie including a 4-hr deep dive by Novum (TWICE!!), I laughed every time you said smth like “something’s gonna pop out of that window” or “you can’t smile at a child like that!” or “what are you clicking about” because I just know too much about Hereditary 😅😅 There are so many hidden details in this movie I can’t

Lena M.

One of my favorite more “recent” horror movies !!! Please watch another great “new” horror flick called “Barbarian”!! You fucking hate it but love it!!!

Asheenah

Dude, internet is already a negative place, and Alex is here to bring some positivity to those who kindly decided to pay him every month. And yet you are here bringing all the negative energy to a closed subscription-only Patreon. Want to write your negative comments somewhere - go to Twitter and do it there (and unsubscribe from Alex).

Lena M.

This us definitely a.movie that gets clearer upon a second watch. BUT that's not happening lol. U actually sat thru this is enough for me! Thank u for the devotional at the end. It actually touched personally as i am in a conflict with myself and fixing everything on my own. Anywho..love the channel. Glad u are back. Keep up the good works.

Joi Rene

Pretty much said everything I was thinking.

Connor Hirsch

Bro your being a cock just drop it and it’s not piracy if I went to the library and checked out a dvd that would not be illegal and also he pays for it on max and tells others to do the same plus he is making money off the reaction not the movie it’s ok if you don’t want to watch it like this but most others want to if you want to unsubscribe that’s your choice although I doubt it will change much for Alex because he has so many subscribers but just unsubscribe and don’t trash his work just because it’s not for you just unsubscribe

Matthew

you chose to watch this? omg lol. This movie was so good I can never watch it again. I'll watch your reaction by itself and just commiserate though lol. Oh wait the whole movie is in the reaction? thats new

Dale Diaz

I actually prefer this method, showing the film along with his reaction. But I get if you have two screens, and want to watch both, one on each screen, adjusting volume as you like. I could see potential for uploading both. But I prefer him showing the film along with his reaction. I do see the potential for copyright issues. I respect the medium, but dude, you subbed to a react channel, and you're complaining that you are seeing what he is reacting to... That's crazy.

Jw Smith

I think this is the best format you’ve done I think you should do it like this it’s easier to follow along

Matthew

I was replying to you. So no.

AdrianF

Never said I was. But you keep commenting? Do you want my number or something? ....

Nathan Wood

Also, you're not the subscriber police; I'll sub or unsub when and why I like.

AdrianF

Yeah still here. 1500+ movies on disc and digital (I buy both if digital is available, 1500+ is the physical number). Let's see what Alex says.

AdrianF

You still here? Plus most people including myself have most movies digital now. Look, like I've stated. If your not happy, move on. Plenty of other reactors.

Nathan Wood

If you have a disc playing and his reac playing you can pause both. Shitty justification.

AdrianF

If you have bought a real version of the movie, why in the world would you want to watch the reaction in this way? Constipated.

AdrianF

Cheers babe, will do 😘

Nathan Wood

If you want to watch movies in a shit format I can't help you. As I said, crack on.

AdrianF

I don't support your comment, but here we are 🤷‍♂️

Nathan Wood

I don't support piracy and this is that. I prefer to own my movies and expect reactors making multiple thousands of dollars a month to do the same. On top of that, I want to watch the movie in the best format possible, and this doesn't allow you to do that. Crack on doing what you do.

AdrianF

I do. But easier this way. Plus I pay for these reactions, so kinda balances it out 😉

Nathan Wood

Untrue. Lots of reactors do this. For instance Sean Thompson, Don Townsend & they've been doing it for years. He won't be uploading full versions to YouTube, so there is no issue. Stop complaining, and just enjoy the content. Or leave.

Nathan Wood

Buy your shit. Simple.

AdrianF

Alex, if your future reactions are gonna be in this format, you're gonna get done for copyright and you're gonna lose my sub. I don't want to watch movies like this, and I suspect anyone that respects the medium will feel the same. If most of your subs want shit for free, I guess you'll be golden.

AdrianF

That's fine. Don't watch it, simple (:

Nathan Wood

Nah, it's shit

AdrianF

I don't love this, thanks for letting me know not to watch.

AdrianF

Yesssss!!! Full movie being played at the same time is clutch

Nic Carbone

Love the full movie being played. Saves me time trying to find/sync it up. Plus if I need to pee can pause it 😅 Glad your back! ♡

Nathan Wood

I can’t believe you’ve watched this movie. Favorite reaction so far 😂😂
