Jurassic Park (FULL MOVIE REACTION)

Hey guys!

I FINALLY WATCHED IT!!! Jurassic Park has been on my list for such a long time! Super stoked that you guys voted this one in, so thank you for that!

I am honestly really surprised just how well this movie held up throughout the years! It came out before I was born and 30+ years later it STILL hits!

I am a bit ashamed to admit that I am 30 years old the first time I am watching Jurassic Park, but hey! Better late than never, I suppose!

I hope you guys enjoy watching this reaction as much as I enjoyed filming it! You guys are awesome and I love spending time with you all and watching movies with you!

I am watching this movie on Netflix! Hurry!! Netflix is taking it off soon!

I hope you guys have a kickass weekend!

Love,

Alex

Whats the point of this reaction when u cant even see the movie?

Sander

Can someone explain how to sync up the movie with the reaction? I'm watching the movie on Netflix and the reaction on Chrome.

Ashod Miah

I believe it comes down to copyright.

Ashod Miah

how can i fix it it is the same with how to train your dragon

Petar

Why is the movie blurred out?

Ashod Miah

I saw this movie at the age of 5 in theaters and it made my sister pee herself lol

Breezybaby

target audience is kids because think of zoos its the same thing just different species lol also ian malcolm is the king

chase beloin

This movie terrified the SHIT out of me as a kid. I absolutely had nightmares from the t-Rex. Such a masterpiece. Great reaction.

Patrick

I love so much of this movie but parts of it are INFURIATING. Lex with the stupid industrial strength flashlight at the T-Rex paddock, Tim not just climbing THROUGH the electric fence when they went to climb over, multiple other little things. The part where they're trying to reboot the door locks in the control room is beyond frustrating. Ellie is screaming about how she can't reach the shotgun because she has to hold the door closed with Grant...yet fkn Tim is literally standing next to them hopping up and down with his hands on his head freaking out before going over to just stand there and look over Lex's shoulder while SHE does the actual work. Like hey kid...maybe grab the goddam shotgun on the ground and give it to Grant so he can shoot the raptor in the face? So many small details like that are SUPER frustrating after you've seen the movie a million times and can start to actually question the story beats. Overall its still an AMAZING movie and one of my faves to this day but there's alot of stupid moments throughout both this movie and the series as a whole. If you wind up watching/reacting to all of them (which would be AWESOME btw), just wait until you meet Amanda Kirby in JP3...

Phishinabowl

I saw this in the theater with my family when I was six years old. Still one of my favorite movies to this day.

Matt F

I'm having the same problem Im so confused

Riley Wilkin

Cannot for the life of me get this to stay in sync. I can get it perfectly in sync but then 10 secs later it's already out of sync again and I have no idea how to fix it so it's not. In the end I let it be for like 5 mins and mine is now a full 17 seconds ahead despite originally being perfectly in sync

PuNKD Steven

Super enjoyed sharing this with you. Been a shit week (had to euthanize our beloved dog of 16 years)...your humor and enthusiasm were exactly what I needed to help break the funk. Thanks for all you do.✌️♥️♻️

Kelly Moneymaker

Great info, cheers for that.

Cozz_a_can

All the way from down under!! Haha much love from Aus

Cozz_a_can

If we can get Arcane after the last episode of season 2 Invincible, ill tongue punch your fart box... promise!!

Cozz_a_can

From what I could find, it was in the script. The guy that was talking to Gennaro (the lawyer) technically said "I bet a thousand pesos he falls" in Spanish while they were pulling him across the water. But I'm not sure.

Emilysr97

This was mighty fun. :) Growing up, I was a huge fan of this one, as I saw it at the drive in movie theater and had an amazing time! So much fun. :D

I watched this once when I was about 12. I remembered big moments but as you pointed out, there’s actually such great comedic relief moments I forgot about. Now that it’s 14 years later, I found a new appreciation for this film. I knew John Williams composed the score, but I never realized how much it does feel like “Star Wars with dinosaurs” as you pointed out. I love that. The constant escalation of danger, then with perfect comedic relief, I guess it makes sense because Spielberg and Lucas are such great friends. Thank you for pointing that out!:)

KnightfallNoir

Happy accidents haha. Did guy in beginning trip on purpose? Really looked like that was another happy accident that made the cut

KnightfallNoir

YES on Schindlers... it's not one you watch over and over, but its one that everyone should watch at least once.

Ryan Towell

i saw this opening week at theaters with my then girlfriend. it does still hold up.. to my i don't.. I mean i am 30 years older now.. ha.. but fun reaction.. glad you finally did this one.

Ryan Towell

Can we please binge 2 and 3 now 😆

Josh Bruner

What did you do as a little boy alex?

jamie jones

This movie is so nostalgic for me because it was the first movie I saw in theaters as a kid. Everytime I see it, I get emotional remembering how it felt. I definitely think this movie holds up despite how far we've come technologically since then....it was just the first of it's kind and the hype for it was so real. Everyone should watch this movie at least once. Thanks Alex....great reaction!

Jessica Houser

Agreed 3 is one of my favorites

Ghostmaker

Hooray

Fun dinosaur fact: The real Velociraptor mongoliensis, (a dromeosaurid) was only about 3 and a half to 4 feet tall, but Steven Spielberg wanted the Velociraptors to be extra big and scary, so they decided, instead, to base them off of Deinonychus, (another dromaeosaurid) and sized them up to over 6 feet tall, as you see in the movie. In the time before the film's release, there were some complaints about that scientific inaccuracy. However, in 1993, paleontologists, including a man named James Kirkland, officially classified sets of fossils, found in Utah in 1975 and 1991, that belonged to a roughly 6-foot tall, 9-foot long dromaeosaurid that was shown to greatly resemble the "Velociraptors" portrayed in the Jurassic Park film. The resemblance was such that one of the scientific names considered for the species was "Utahraptor spielbergi", however, the name was rejected and instead the name "Utahraptor ostrommaysi" was chosen, for John Ostrom, who performed ground-breaking research relating Deinonychus to modern day birds. TLDR; before Jurassic Park was released there was no known dinosaur that resembled the size and body shape of the portrayed Velociraptors. However, such fossils WERE discovered AFTER the film was release.

Really hope the others end up getting voted in too i love 3 the most and the Jurassic worlds arent bad

Jacob

Alex, you should check out Clint's Reptiles for info about dinosaurs. He dedicates all of December to them and calls it Dinosaur December.

DarnedStingray8

Netflix has a series called “Movies That Made Us.” They cover this in season 2. SGI engineers made the user interface shown on the computers in this movie. The park’s systems ran on SGI computers but the thief that shut everything down worked on an Apple. Now Apple won’t let studios have bad guys use their products. A hurricane rolled through during filming. Rain soaked the T Rex making it way heavier. It wasn’t supposed to break through the panel on the car.

Brian Stanaland

Really fun time watching you watch this movie. I just rewatched your reaction to Spaceballs, a Mel Brooks movie; you need to check out some of his other movies. Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles are his best in my opinion. Here comes the hate from Mel Brooks fanatics.

james fewell

Yes, it is, but I think everyone should see it once.

Chryss Guiler

It's no coincidence that you think about Star Wars while watching Jurassic Park. The soundtrack is from the same legendary composer John Williams. The post production itself was overseen by George Lucas at the same time Spielberg shot Schindler's List. Lucas and Spielberg really perfected the blockbuster genre with their long year collaborations. As for Schindler's List. It's one of the most impactful movies I've ever seen. Would love to see you react to this a well.

Boris Kopp

Can't ever see that movie again. It's too intense and real. It's a tough watch.

Diana

Also Sphere, but the movie wasn't a very good adaptation

Diana

He missed that line in the reaction (he was talking over it). Hope he goes back and watches it again!

Diana

Steven Spielberg is a classic film-maker. Not many film-makers like him anymore. Him plus John Williams (The composer for the Star Wars soundtracks) with the score, perfect combo.

Demon of Empire

I second this. The book series is fantastic and probably my favorite book of all time even of it is outdated technologically

If the Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists.

I am so excited for this!

If the Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists.

I really hope we get to watch the next ones not too far apart in the polls

bombraider333

If it gives you star wars vibes it’s cuz the legend John Williams wrote both scores.

Ludus Aurea

I wish they would make Pirate LTtitudes into a movie or Micro. But both have been done before. Prey would be a good one too. The Andromeda Strain had a miniseries many years ago too. Sphere and Congo and Eaters of the Dead movies were kind of meh I thought.

Ludus Aurea

I think it would be interesting to see him compare the two and especially when they revisit a certain “location” from the first movie I feel like he would get emotional

Ghostmaker

I agree, Jurassic World 1 is pretty good too

Bmaster532

Schindler's List, yes!

Chryss Guiler

Several of Michael Crichton's books have been made into movies. I particularly remember The Andromeda Strain (good suspense), and Eaters of the Dead, which became The 13th Warrior (Antonio Banderas) in film.

Chryss Guiler

Hope you continue the original trilogy and I loved the reaction so much im going to rewatch the YouTube version I still am amazed this happened. Ngl I was waiting all day for this I was so excited

Ghostmaker

Yes for Schindlers list as well

Samantha

I cannot recommend reading Jurassic Park enough. It may be technologically outdated now but the message and the themes are more relevant now than ever. Crichton wrote the screenplay too for the movie but the novel has so much more to it. Sorry to go ADD nerd mode but it's happening. As to the genre, it's a science fiction thriller. You may have not understood what was happening in the San Jose scene between Nedry and Dodgson. Lewis Dodgson was the head researcher at a company called BioSyn who competed with Ingen - the company that built and runs Jurassic Park and owns the research. He paid Nedry to steal Ingen's research and deliver it to him, for his company to use - the bag he gave Nedry in that scene was $250,000 in cash up front to do the task and then he was going to get $500,000 more when he delivered the embryos. Nedry was the lead systems developer who basically programmed literally every aspect of the parks computer systems, in the movie, and Sam Jack in the movie was the Systems Engineer who was more like an infrastructure guy that supplemented Nedry. It's quite different in the book but they simplified it for the movie (in the book Nedry is more like a Senior engineer who runs a team of Cambridge student nerd programmers). So Nedry had the sole access and knowledge how to take the parks systems down while he stole all their research, and make it look like an accident. A lot of Crichtons work revolved around cautionary writing about the dangers of technology, of science and commercialization and progress for the sake of profit. BioSyn is actually in more than one of his books, as is Dodgson, but those 2 or 3 books are the only ones tied together out of his novels. Pretty much all of the science that he incorporated into this book has been since disproven but you have to remember he wrote this book in the 80s. It was published in 1990 and the book is actually set in 1989, where the movie is set in like 1993 or so when it came out. Studio executives had been begging him since before he even published the book, to adapt it to a screenplay.

Ludus Aurea

I absolutely adore this movie! The scene where the t-rex breaks the roof on the jeep with the kids wasn't supposed to happen. the animatronic went down further than it was supposed to so the screams from the kids were real.

Emilysr97

Though I wanted GWH, I’m happy to see this! Maybe next poll🙂

KnightfallNoir

hey gooch you can calm down now new alex hefner video is out
