Using the force for mind tricks, like simple ones on weak minded people, (Obi-Wan telling stormtrooper “these aren’t the droids you’re looking for” doesn’t really hurt that individual. Stronger minding people like Cad Bane seen here, it took 3 Jedi (one Grand Master, one Master, and the chosen one), multiple tries to make it work. They said it could scramble his mind if things go wrong. Things started to go wrong bc Cad is strong minded. This is why he made them stop and just told them rather than needed to be mind tricked. He told them “just stay out of my head!”. So to answer your question, a Jedi using the force for mind tricks, a Jedi won’t use this power to intentionally attack/hurt someone. A Sith using mind tricks, they wouldn’t care as long as they get what they needed. But sith would probably use other methods than mind tricks in most cases.

In later episodes there is a symbolic thing that ends up following her around that represents that. As for the moment where we are now in the Clone Wars, Ahsoka gives Anakin family. Ani is born from the Force, with the only true parent being his mother, who is dead. His nearest father figure was Qui Gon and he is also dead. Obi Wan is the next closest thing, being similar to an older brother. Ahsoka fills the little sister role that he most relates to.
