Star Wars-Related Question!

Hey guys!

I've been going back and forth in my head a lot about Star Wars. We have watched: 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, and now we have started the Clone Wars.

My question to you is :

Should we watch the rest of the Star Wars movies (7, 8, 9) before continuing Clone Wars?

Comments

Would this be the same George Lucas that made the prequels lol

Matthew

no you people are just mad that the movies weren’t what your wet dreams were so yall turned on good storytelling and started pretending the prequels were good

Diego Guevara

stop the cap cmon now...

Josh Baker

“7, 8,9 aren’t worth watching” oh my god stfu 2 of those movies are literally better than than 2 of the prequels you people are on dick fr

Diego Guevara

tales of the Jedi has major spoilers for the last season of clone wars

Shay-Thelogicaldreamer

7,8,9 are a disgrace to the George Lucas Star Wars

Nick Howser

Also remember with Star Wars pacing is your friend! It’s a big universe and I regret not taking more time initially to sit back and just appreciate the work George and filoni particularly have put out

Jennifer

This is the best order (IMO) Clone wars, rebels, andor, rogue one, obi wan, solo, mando, Ahsoka, then 7,8,9….you may like the last 3 who knows (kinda like the dumbledore debate you either love him or hate him) personally I pretend they don’t exist because I just don’t like the characters at all but that’s my opinion (no hate to the sequel lovers whatsoever). Also bad batch too, it’s defs a lot shorter than the clones wars but maybe watch before rebels? I wish I did at least but it’s still coming out (last season is streaming an ep every week atm) so wasn’t an option for me at the time! And tales of the Jedi is something you can probably complete in between but perhaps before rebels would work best (don’t come for me if I’ve got that part wrong I haven’t watched tales of the Jedi since its release so I don’t remember if there’s any big spoilers in them but I don’t recall any)

Jennifer

He needs to watch rebels before Ashoka tho

Jennifer

I did 1000 + episodes that basically go for the same time when I watched one piece, I think you will live lol

Jennifer

You could totally forget about 7, 8, 9 for all I care. I’ll still watch if you do tho.

Ryan Grady

It really doesn't matter. I enjoy watching the content put out. I'm not voting either way.

Andrew Freeman

Do whatever you want to do, the great thing about Star Wars is if you watch Episode 7 tomorrow or in 2 years, people will still be fans and care. No deadline for you. So if you enjoy Clone Wars watch that, if you want a break for films, there's 4 left!

Peter Amet

despite what many of these people say, I wouldn't skip the sequels.

Bmaster532

Nah, been too much Star Wars. He hits those after CW then yall gonna wanna have him do the live action shows. I like Star Wars but it’s too much especially when there is significantly better movies and shows to watch

Charles Walker

Please be quiet 🤫

Silas

100 agree. they almost put me off of sw till mando came out

Josh Carter

So 133 isn’t that much?

Ghostmaker

They don’t cause clone wars gonna take forever then we have to endure 3 more Star Wars movies?🤮💀 it’s too much

Charles Walker

Wish I could dislike like ur comment Aaron. Star Wars some ass

Charles Walker

Don’t watch 7,8,9

Charles Walker

After Clone Wars you should watch the small series Tales of the Jedi, than bad batch and then Rebels, or Andor/Rogue One, after that you can watch the Sequels or go on with the Mandelorian, Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka Series. These Series are much more worth watching then the Sequel movies in my opinion.

Kevin Menden

The Last Jedi is in my top three favorites and the Rise of Skywalker is my least favorite movie out of the franchise. The sequels have pros and cons

Shay-Thelogicaldreamer

I feel like since you recently watched the prequels it would help you remember references and call backs to them where as the sequels take place 30 years after the OG series and it may get confusing. Also, in other newer media there are a lot of callbacks and nods to clone wars and having that knowledge moving forward makes the experience that much more enjoyable.

Shay-Thelogicaldreamer

Hmmm. Am I detecting a correlation between Clone Wars stans, and Sequel Trilogy haters? I could be imagining things again lol.

Kev Martin

Most definitely not, you can watch the series get wrecked later

MarinersNation

it is too long, doesnt fit the reaction movie format at all

hello

We never speak of those

Dallas Darnell

7,8,9 are just garbage compared to the rest of Star Wars you could save that till the end I would suggest Rogue One or Solo before 7,8,9

Desi Cr

Easily. The culmination of all the moving parts and the emotion of the Order 66 call. Ahsoka and Rex. Ahsoka and Anakins final reunion. The siege of Mandalore and the Maul/Ahsoka fight. You weirdos need to lighten up💀💀

Lee Smith

😂

Ruarí Kelsey

It’s not a lie, a lot of people have favourites in the sequels. Just because they don’t share your opinion, doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

Ruarí Kelsey

“The sequels are terrible, also I only watched one of them” This is what we’re dealing with here…

Ruarí Kelsey

We’ve already interrupted a 9-movie saga for a 7-season animated series. That series can easily wait while the saga is concluded. You’ve got it backwards, the clone wars is interrupting the films.

Ruarí Kelsey

Toxic fandom: shut your brain off Also toxic fandom: already done 🤪

Ruarí Kelsey

Season 7 is some of the best television you’ve ever seen?! Wow, you really haven’t seen any great television 😂 or you’re just resorting to ridiculous hyperbole.

Ruarí Kelsey

That line isn’t bad, you just expect a character to know things they couldn’t possibly know. No spoilers, if you know, you know.

Ruarí Kelsey

Your English is fantastic, your taste is mediocre 😊

Ruarí Kelsey

After Clone Wars, watch Rebels

LJ

I never saw one episode of animated star wars until 3 years ago where I was 27 and cried and cheered loved most of it. It’s some of the best Star Wars ever

Aaron Boone

Yea shut your brain off and just pretend it’s not Star Wars and maybe you can enjoy it lol

Aaron Boone

This is the best comment I’ve seen. I don’t like 7-8-9 like most people but I can imagine Alex’s reactions being hilarious and fun to them.

Aaron Boone

I think he should watch them just off camera. If he gets into the future stuff like Mandalorian and bad batch those series are actually trying to fix the stuff that they messed up in the sequels so you kind of have to know what happens even tho it’s bad.

Aaron Boone

Definitely do 7-8-9 last…

Manny Lafarga

I get defending your opinion but don’t lie. You said “a lot of people it’s their favorite Star Wars” that’s just a lie. The people in the movies didn’t even like them lol

Aaron Boone

Wish there was a dislike button on your comment lol

Aaron Boone

Watch all of clone wars and then you can skip 7-8-9. They do nothing but tear down Star Wars and try to ruin it.

Aaron Boone

Definitely watch the Clone Wars before you watch the movies. Doing it in that order gave me a deeper appreciation for Star Wars as a universe.

NovelDefender

Clone wars is too long

Ghostmaker

Strangely enough the answer to the "what order should I watch" question is the same as always: Release Order! And please just ignore the DontWatch Brigade who think their personal preferences and tastes are the same thing as quality.

Kev Martin

They're not idiots for disagreeing with me. They're idiots for wanting Alex to miss out on 3 HUGE movies in the Saga, bc of their own opinions.

LoganPool

7 8 9 are good from an entertainment perspective they just had some bad writing

Cody

7,8,9 and Solo are absolute time-wasting movies.

Metal Machine

“All the people who disagree with me are WRONG, don’t listen to the idiots, which is anyone who disagrees with me!” They literally came up with the story for the last movie 6 months before release, there is not a thing in that entire trilogy worth interrupting Clone Wars for as far as I’m concerned.

Carn

Honestly doesn’t matter….but Clone Wars is so good, it might make the movies worse

Jacob Montoya

There are more people who would rather he watch clone wars than the sequels. I didn’t grow up with clone wars. I watched it 2 years ago when I first got into Star Wars. Season 7 is some of the best television I’ve ever seen. If you say it’s not you’re* lying.

Lee Smith

Despite peoples views on 7-9 movies, they still deserve to be watched. Now, whether that's before or after Clone Wars who knows. I've never been a Star Wars fan, sure I liked the 4-6 ones but not the 1-3 movies so the new ones being bad never really bothered me. It was still enjoyable cinema imo

PuNKD Steven

Don’t listen to people telling you to skip movies. They all have value. People hate the sequels. But a lot of people it’s their favorite Star Wars. Everyone has their divide and preferences, and you should make up your own. You enjoy most things, I think you would really love the sequels. Especially the characters and action. I think instead of doing one, and then the other. You should mix in the sequel movies with clone wars. So then neither groups have to wait!

Ryan

The sequels are absolutely terrible, truthfully I only watched 7 and part of 8, I was soo miserable watching them and they almost wrecked the original trilogy for me… but it’s obviously a personal preference lol

Stef

You really thing that the average person that knows/is a fan of Star Wars has touched a DisneyXD animated kids show? Y’all are so disconnected. especially if u didn’t grow up watching clone wars, it’s not gonna hit the same at all. It’s very corny bad writing and most of the show is filler.

hello

Interested to see what Alex thinks of the sequels. Like many others, I didn't like them too much, I didn't absolutely hate them, but I was disappointed. I will say that they work better as general science fiction movies than they do as Star Wars movies, and I think that was because the tone of them didn't really fit with the rest of Star Wars, and there were some character inconsistencies that didn't make sense, especially for those of us who grew up on 4, 5, and 6. Although to be fair, the buildup for the sequels was so long and the expectations so high, that there really isn't anything they could have done to exceed expectations, but still, there were some obvious things they could have done better. And I don't fault the acting, the actors did the best they could with what they were given to work with and many of the new characters could have been much cooler than they ended up being, I fault the writing for that, not the actors.

ColonelB

65% of the people here are WRONG! Waiting until the end of Clone Wars to finish the Skywalker Movie Saga is a travesty. And for the love of god don't listen to the idiots that want you to skip them entirely.

LoganPool

I may be wrong but I don't think it matters for sequels but it does for Ashoka

Peter Pobor

Yeah if those 3 sentences are the advice required for enjoying a film yk it’s a bad film 😂

Roko 1.0

PLEASE JUST WATCH THEM WHILE UR DOING MOVIES AND LATER DO THE CLONE WARS. the clone wars is really long so that should be put after the movies since they are quicker and done with. want to see you react to them so bad and then just get back to the clone wars. I just miss watching a Star Wars movie from you.

bombraider333

if u ask me. u should skip 7, 8 and 9 and u wouldnt miss anything but it's your choice

Jetro Rosnell

Also, I don’t want other people opinions on the movies to influence you in any way. It’s your commentary/reaction channel. We’re just along for the ride. :)

Garrett Bishop

I think you should continue the clone wars stuff, especially if you’re enjoying it. However, I don’t see anything wrong with throwing in one of the sequel movies in between. It is clear that 7,8, and 9 are set far after episode 6, so I don’t think there would be any confusion there. Besides, Alex, I think whether you love them, think they’re just ok, or if you hate them, I think your reactions would be great. And I think that if you do end up hating the sequels, it will just allow you to appreciate some of the better stuff even more. 🤷🏻‍♂️ just my two cents.

Garrett Bishop

Where do you get that statistic from?

Culper (Lukas)

YES THIS MAN UNDERSTANDS!!

hello

Biggest bullshit i've ever heard. @hello

IGOR PODEMSKI

I don’t believe 7,8,9 has any real bearing clone wars I don’t recall I could be wrong, but I don’t think anything really gets spoiled in 7,8,9 in clone wars. I think that you can continue clone wars and sprinkle the next three movies on your other movie days in randomly and it be fine🤷🏾‍♀️

Nikki Van loan

I just wish we could do both at the same time

hello

90% of the Star Wars fan base hasn’t touched clone wars. It’s not required viewing

hello

Yes but u gotta think there’s a limited amount of people that want to rewatch an entire 7 seasons of a obscure animated show. If u didn’t grow up with clone wars it is corny. If you say it’s not your lying

hello

If you are going in now, you will probably have a good fun ride. The key is, what you do after you watched the movies. - Shut your brain off and don't think about the movies. - Don't read anything about how the movies came to be. - Don't read any commentary about the movies.

Tom Gerhardt

While I don’t like this, Disneys newer stuff attempts to or leads to tying up loose ends in the sequel. You should lowkey watch in timeline order and finish shows like Mando and Ahsohka before starting the sequels so that you have full context as possible at this very moment.

John Stites

I just like Clone Wars so much and it provides so much context to the overall universe. The sequels have their merits but are set AFTER all the other shows and movies

Lee Smith

i mean it kind of is true, the issue with the sequel trilogy was there where way to many people in the writers room and Kathleen Kennedy made sure the trilogy was approached with a "there cant be too many cooks in the kitchen" mind set so it lead to a ton of promising ideas that either lead to nowhere or just randomly happen. everyone was really excited to work on star wars and the higher ups didn't want to say no to anyone leading to lots of plot holes, build up to nothing, and deus ex machina moments. cherry on top is after it was all over the producers whined about how trilogies don't work in the modern age and they are far to difficult to produce.

Jacob

Ok while everyone is going off against the Sequels, and I absolutely hate 9. I will say I thought 7 was ok, and 8 is my favorite Star Wars movie of all time. People can have different opinions and tastes, so I am interested in seeing Alex’s reaction. Just don’t let all the people saying all the sequels are awful influence your reaction.

Regan OHern

Looking at the comments from people like Mark Hamill, and the scores on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb, yes, its essentially true.

Darth Nihilus

Alex trust me do both simultaneously if clone wars wins, make us all happy😀

hello

Bear in mind that some people voting ‘no’ simply don’t want you to watch them at all. They’re scared you’ll like the sequels the same way you had the nerve to like the prequels 😂 some Star Wars fans just don’t want you to enjoy things.

Ruarí Kelsey

That’d be fine, I just want him to keep doing cone wars

Drew Baucom

What about both simultaneously

hello

I swear most these people aren’t even watching the clone wars reactions. If anything do both side by side. We’re gonna have clone wars for months on end

hello

You only want him to skip the movies because you’re insecure. You’re afraid others will actually like the films. The same way he loved the prequels which were disliked by the “vast majority of the fanbase” at one point. Speaking of which, you do not speak for the fanbase. Also, it’s three movies, he’s not putting the show on hold that long 😂 he can also do both at the same time. Have some imagination.

Ruarí Kelsey

I was gonna say rip the band aid off and get it over with.

Michael T

Go away. There are plenty of us that would like to see his reactions to the sequels. He may actually enjoy them, despite your shitty comments.

Simon

You need to know what Star Wars is before you watch the Sequels. Just my two cents.

Culper (Lukas)

There's so much content in shows that I kinda wish you did finish up the movies. But I can't wait for you to get to Obi-Wan and Mandolorian and Andor and Rebels... ack, so much goodness, so little time!!

PepperJelly

Ep 9 is unique in that it has, IMO, the single worst line of dialog in cinema history. You know which one... ...and which the newer SW content has been desperately trying to backfill a square peg into a round hole to make sense.

Steve J

Don’t get this at all, it’s the reacting to seeing where they take the characters I wanna see. He obviously doesn’t like clone wars so much.

hello

People only say not to watch something because they’re afraid others will enjoy the thing they dislike. You’re not asking him to skip the movies out of kindness, you’re asking out of insecurity.

Ruarí Kelsey

You feel that way, doesn’t make it true

Ruarí Kelsey

You always hear about "this movie is bad don't watch it" and then you watch the movie and it's alright, nothing crazy good but a perfectly fine movie. Ep 9 is genuinely that bad, it feel like they took the writer room out behind the studio and shot them mid way through ep 8 only to replace them by new hires who had never seen Star Wars but think they are very deep and intellectual.

Jacob

I would rather watch you cry of happiness and sadness because something is so good that it makes you emotional, and not because someone destroyed one of the best fantasy universes there is. So Clone Wars first. [ sorry if my english is mediocre ]

IGOR PODEMSKI

Watching Obi-Wan, Mando and Ahsoka would be a better use of time than 7,8,9 imo lol

Carter Fleege

I haven't watched any of it so I voted for what everyone else voted for.

R Gee

Get the sequel trilogy out of the way first so you don’t end on…. That…

Alec Zrike

I agree!

Brooke Sawyer

When the vast majority of the fanbase dislikes the movies it says a lot for the movies. I’m not trying to “manipulate” him like you said. Me and a lot of other people are just saying that the sequels aren’t a must watch since they are objectively bad movies and he should not put a show that he so far loves on hold just to watch movies that most of us aren’t interested in.

Alexis Georgiadis

Not gonna lie… I’m not a fan of Clone Wars so I’m anxiously waiting for the new movies so I can see your reaction and off-the-wall comments 🤣

Brooke Sawyer

Don’t watch 7-9. Avoid the pain

Caleb Griffith

I'd say whatever works best for the YouTube edits. As far as the story goes, Clone Wars and 7, 8, 9 are generally pretty far apart. Though Bad Batch seems to be fleshing out a story line. But still, I don't think it really matters which order you watch as far as following the story goes.

Brian Stanaland

It's pretty much min-n-match viewing order for Star Wars after the main 6 movies. There are little plot points between things here and there but nothing that's going to ruin anything if you don't watch in some particular order. I'd say if you're in the mood for one of the movies, do a movie, otherwise watch a show.

Steve J

Don't listen to this person, Alex. Wait til you watch them and decide if you like them. Don't let anyone else manipulate you into hating them before you watch them

Austin Markham-Pearson

Dude what are y’all on bro, it would be entertaining for sequal reactions

hello

I think you should do Clone Wars and then 7,8,9 OR Do clone Wars alongside do Mandolorian/Andor/Ashoka

Ben Drummond

The sequel trilogy is very loosely tied to the prequels. So there would be very little references to The Clone Wars. Watch the sequels later

Sharnia Buford

Clone wars 100%

Roxas-V13

7, 8, and 9 are absolutely awful. Trust me, they aren't worth watching.

Bryan Forquer

Bro save 7, 8, 9 for last please. Clone Wars is way better than 7, 8, 9 I swear. Stay the course and finish clone wars

Drew Baucom

Clone wars first, much better content and sets a lot of things up for later shows/movies

Nitroxc

Please don’t make me watch the sequels again😂 just clone wars

Taylor Williamson

Whatever the outcome, thank you SO MUCH for bothering to ask this!! Absolute legend 🤙❤️

Ruarí Kelsey

Personally, I would like to see the movies finished first and then Clone Wars....only because I feel like I would be waiting forever to get to the movies if Clone Wars as first.

Meredith

For you Clone wars is clear of 7,8,9 but your reaction videos to 7,8,9 will be a better watch for us lol😂

MORE LIFE MORLEY

I mean, I don’t believe the newest movies have anything to do with the clone wars, honestly I’d say smash out those last 3 then start on the one offs/ tv series

OrAnG3

Clone Wars is such a journey, I'd watch 7-9 first

Gravity Fallout Pines

I’m all for mixing it up, baby!

Brandon Maheu

The pay off for watching Bad Batch and Mando first will be high for episode 9, but 7 & 8 are okay to do early

Sarah Nicole

You can do both. Continue Clone Wars and do those movies as you have time. Whatever is easiest for u though. The sequels won't habe any effect on your clone wars journey.

Andrew Clifton

Don’t even watch 7,8 and 9. Not worth it and you’ll probably be disappointed like most of the fanbase.

Alexis Georgiadis

Or just don’t watch them. You would be better off.
