Got around to watching Dune and HOLY SHIT!!!!! it was incredible! I hope you guys enjoy this reaction as much as I did! I really can't wait to watch the next chapter of this moive.
FUCK it's so good. I also want to title the YouTube video *DUNE* is better than *STAR WARS* but we'll see if I actually have the balls to do that come publish time!

2024-04-10 03:04:06 +0000 UTCI can recommend the Trilogy "Frank Herbert's Dune". Still my favorite of the so far 3 versions. Prefer it over the original and even though the new one of course is visually on another level I still prefer the 2000.

2024-03-23 07:40:02 +0000 UTCI'm excited about you seeing Dune Part 2! I hope streaming and the DVD comes soon, so we can see reaction to that. If you like to read and you get the chance, I recommend you read the book by Frank Herbert. It's fantastic! It's been a while since I read it, but I'm pretty sure the two parts of the movie comprise what is in the first book. It'll be interesting to see if a part three comes along, and I suspect it will be the second book. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Paul only sees POSSIBLE views of the future for now ,thats why his visions are confusing, they are not the clear future but possibilities they can change. in a possible futur him and Jamies became friends and showed him the ways and he has vision of it but its not the real path of the future.

The only thing is that Star Wars and Dune are two quite different stories in completley different worlds. But without Dune there wouldn't be a Star Wars how we know it and probably not most other Sci-Fi how we know it. And when it comes to the movie, It's just a masterpiece.

Fast objects don’t work, that’s why there are no personal firearms. You saw how the darts and the bombs hit the shields, slowed, and looked like drills. I always felt that Jamis WAS Paul’s mentor. To Paul, the vision felt like actual time passing. Not only did Paul have his mother’s Bene Gesserit abilities and the training learned from Gurney and Duncan, he also knew how Jamis fights.

In the dune universe long ago humans had computers and ai and there was a AI robot uprising and it devastated humanity. So now there’s no computers and humans rely on humans for those machines functions.

2024-03-03 00:39:58 +0000 UTCgods, i LOVE this movie and this franchise. i get the same excitement discovering this universe as an adult as i did when i was a kid watching star wars. it was a bit hard remembering the specific vocabulary since it's inspired by middle eastern/north african culture, but i was fascinated by the fantastical retelling of the colonisation and oil extraction issues we face in real life. fun fact: oscar isaac plays characters in both franchises lol

Frank Herberts Dune is what set up the majority of sci fi films to come & seeing it well adapted to screen is such an honor to sci fi fans, I saw the second one & Alex is not ready for what happens in movie 2. 2024-03-02 08:14:32 +0000 UTCI cannot wait to see Dune Part 2. I'm waiting until this coming Wednesday. This movie has to be my all-time favorite sci fi movie. it's a visual and sonic work of art. I love that Denis Villanuve took the time and the other movies to do this right. He said he needed his other movies to get this one right... to do Frank Herbert's epic world justice, and I feel he did. David Lynch tried, and had a totally different take on it... it's weird, but good, in a Lynchian sort of way... but this... this movie is just amazing. The sense of scale. Alex I know you didn't realize it.. but the size of the spacer guild ships... the giant vessels they used to move the Atreides family to Arrakis were dots on the screen when they undocked. I can't stop gushing about this movie. I'm so glad you watched it, and I'm really glad you loved it. Also, for once.. when a movie captivates you... you actually watch and aren't talking a mile a minute.. lol I love it when you do that too, bro but man, sometimes,, OMG. Anyway... screw the haters... go see Dune 2 in theaters, and then come back, and do a live stream so we can all talk about it.

On top of that, while he can see all possible futures, that doesn't necessarily mean he can see the choices that will lead to a given outcome. That's why his visions are not always accurate.

I like to say how Lord Of The Rings influenced everything Fantasy, Dune inspired everything Sci-Fi haha
