Think of the force as like a stamina bar, first they passively use it constantly for their foresight and to increase their physical prowess, additionally through this episode anakin and obi had used a lot of stamina chasing dooku, crashing, having a ceiling dropped on them, fighting a gundark, then having the gas in there face would have brought that bar down significantly so they can’t just spam force constantly on big efforts. It also would make for boring stories if everything was just forced it would be 5 min episodes 😂 Also a little note obi wan was actually pretty unnaturally talented in the force he had to work extremely hard to get to where he is
