The Truman Show (FULL MOVIE REACTION)

Hey guys!

You all asked for The Truman Show, so guess what, you got The Truman Show! This was my first time seeing this movie and HOLY SHIT, was it worth it! I can't believe I have loved Jim Carrey for my entire life and this was the first time I have seen this movie!

Honestly, I feel like there are A LOT of interpretations that could be had with this movie. How do you guys analyze this movie? What messages/meanings did you get from this one? I talk about my thought processes towards the end of the reaction!

I love you all so much, and as always, thank you so much for the love and support over here on Patreon! :)

Love,

Alex

They talked about him being in a "state of the art" massive dome sound stage thing. ... for like 10 minutes, how did you miss that?

It is getting close to Mardi Gras! All the local shops in Louisiana are all decorated. We have a liver spotted Dalmation. He is a jerk but only to other animals (and children) whereas my Pitbull is a huge baby with everything. Also, softest coat of fur ever because he CONSTANTLY sheds. I've told everyone I understand why Cruella wanted a coat of Dalmation fur. 10/10 do not recommend just because of the shedding.

I wonder if it’s actually because he watched the Amazon prime version. I’ve seen that version of the movie before and for some reason the sound editing there is complete shit. You really have to listen to here the dialogue.

This is definitely a movie worth a rewatch, you really pick up on a lot that you missed. That being said the fact you missed the part talking about him being kept in a dome is hilarious hahaha

Truman is an interesting character study. Remember, when this came out, this was right at the beginning of "Reality TV" this took that to the ultimate level. I love the movie, and I guess the original script was even darker, but man, this is pretty twisted. I don't think you caught on to the fact... His "best friend" had been "Acting" on this show for TWENTY PLUS YEARS. His "wife" paid actress... that met him first at least in High school... All these people that were his friends and family... all actors. So that's the other part... What did they think... how screwed up do you have to be to play the part of a friend for most of your life? I really think you need to watch this again... without the cameras on. (irony) There's a lot of little things that add to it, that you missed. Cristof has kind of created a cult around Truman. the PA's in the control room had shirts that said.. Love Him, Protect Him. That was the motto. everyone is doing this out of "love" for Truman. I don't really know how Truman has a normal life after this... but maybe in Fiji. Still loved the reaction though. You are definitely one of a kind.

Such a great movie, and the industry really hasn't done something this in-depth and fourth wall as a part of the movie/show since then

I first watched this movie as a youngster. It's good stuff! I like that you didn't do any research on this, man. :) 10,909 / 365 = 29.9 This was a great damn movie. I'm very happy that you enjoyed this! Awesome reaction, like always. :)

Logan Kerlee

You talked right over him saying "I'll cross my fingers for ya" saying you didn't trust "wendy" which explains what he saw in the wedding photo. She had her fingers crossed at the wedding.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is another great dramatic Carrey role

Mark Messer

Just watched that a few months ago defininty worth the watch! Not only is the story of Andy Kaufman crazy but the story behind that movie and how Jim Carrey went full method acting for the role is crazy! If you haven't I highly recommend watching the documentary on Netflix about the making of that movie and how far Jim took it.

Crandal Barrow

This is when Jim started dabbling into drama. I highly recommend Man on the Moon, where he plays the late great Andy Kaufman and it Co stars Paul Giamatti who is also in Truman Show. Alex.. you crack me up.. Every one of your questions was answered, you just either weren't paying attention or you were making jokes and didn't catch on.. ha..

Ryan Towell

I don't have time tonight to watch this, but first thing tomorrow it's happening! Love this movie!
