Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (FULL MOVIE REACTION)
Added 2024-01-16 20:13:51 +0000 UTCHey guys!
I can't believe we are finally here! I must say, this is now my FAVORITE Star Wars movie by a HUGE margin!
Right when I was finished with the movie, I texted Aaron and told him I was finished. He asked how I felt. My response verbatim was:
"Defeated, annoyed, irritated, heartbroken, satisfied, entertained, impressed, and wowed."
Aaron responded with:
"LOL. Yeah thas pretty much how you're supposed to feel after that movie"
Thank you all so much for taking this incredible journey with me!
Love, you all so much!
Love,
Alex

Now that you have seen episode 1-6, I hope you watch 7-9. I’m curious about your thoughts. Also, I know you watched The first season of The Mandalorian before any of the movies, but I suggest you watch again. There’s a scene in the season two finale that people reference a lot to Vader’s last scene in Rogue One. Plus, we get Gus Fring. I forgot the actor’s name, but he’s so good!! Pedro Pascal is pretty awesome too. Loved him as Prince Oberyn in GOT and The Last of Us

2024-08-19 03:16:52 +0000 UTCWait until you realize that Natalie Portman’s Character didn’t die because she lost the will to live, The Emperor took her life force and gave it to Anakin so he could be healed and become Darth Vader. I can go on and on with these little snitbits

2024-01-31 13:17:38 +0000 UTCI know that today is the 26th of January and this has been available for a while. Why I put it off I'm not really sure. Yes please watch 7/8 and 9:00. It ties up all the Loose Ends and answers all the questions that you've had through the first six movies that have yet been answered. Episode 8 most people find it the weakest. There are two major story lines going on. One that I really like and the other one not so much. As far as Rogue one you definitely need to react to it. As to watch it now or after the one through nine once again you get to say oh so that's how it happened. Which is what one two and three cover that's how Anakin became Darth Vader. As for as the Obi-Wan I have mixed feelings about I think it was just I wanted to see more. To make the episodes beefier. I much prefer the series Andor which is the backstory to one of of the main characters in Rogue one. I've also really been enjoying The Mandalorian. I pretty sure it takes place after the 6th episode. And you'll met old friends and some new friends. When you watch all the movies and the two series you'll see that they do a really good job of weaving the characters into the movie from the first six. I hope that made sense. I like that they don't have music during the fight scenes. I always find that the music distracts me from what is going on in the movie and often times the music plays over the dialogue so I can't hear what is being said. I like that in this episode rather than music they have voices being they start adding in the voices during the fight scenes. It just feels more organic to me because it's people doing the soundtrack not music and by using voices it's as if they are also characters in the movie. That sense to me and others are probably saying what in Heaven's name is she talking about. Did you ever react to the Danish national Symphony Orchestra doing the main song from The Good the Bad the Ugly? If you haven't you should really watch it because they also do the Star Wars movies. Character in Star Wars has their own theme song. I do like solo because it's the backstory of how Chewbacca and Han Solo become the "dynamic duo" that they become. One thing that I really really appreciate is that in the whole Star Wars universe women are portrayed as strong and entirely capable of taking care of themselves. They are not pussies, pun intended. I had three different reactors to choose from to become a patreon for when they do movies. I picked you because the other two their reactions are more like saltine crackers and your's is like avocado and toast points. I'm also going to go back and watch the whole Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean series that I only saw on YouTube. If you haven't seen train to Busan I would really love to see your reaction to it. Also the series squid games. Season 2 of the squid games is planned to return in 2024. I really am enjoying your reactions and from seeing these movies from your perspective.

2024-01-21 22:27:21 +0000 UTCMy boy Alex cracking me up again. He's almost 6 movies in and still doesn't remember or know that Padm'e dies during childbirth as it was mentioned in the original series, he knows Anikan turns into Vader yet he still holds onto hope that Anikan will change his mind and not turn to the dark side. ha. And "charcoal weasel man" called Chancelor Palpatine, is Emperor. Lotta clues. ha. I mean in the original trilogy we know the Emperor dissolved the republics senate and that he turned Anikan into Vader and in this film he's trying to kill Sam Jackson the same way he tried to kill Luke in Jedi w/ the "force lightning" etc. And good call on saying he's like a Hitler.. Hitler was actually one of the dictators that inspired Lucas when developing the emperor. It was explained why the babies were separated in the original trilogy.. I love watching along with Alex, sometimes a bit slow but when he catches up, he's hilarious about it. By the way my parents used to tell me to eat my broccoli and cauliflower cause there are starving kids in Africa that would love those.. I would say the same thing, Well then send what I don't eat to them.. ha.... The thrid film, this one we just watched was the darkest, but it was my favorite of the original 3 by far..

2024-01-20 18:15:29 +0000 UTCThey sequels are awful for many reasons! They destroyed the original trilogy by reverting the growth beloved characters. They have a shitty, confusing and highly convenient plot. The fight choreography some how got worse 15 years latter. Wasting what potentially could've been good characters. Finally the most obvious and egregious thing to me is the complete lack of limb loss of one of the characters, good or evil! In both the prequal and original trilogies in every single movie at least one character losses a limb! I'm not saying don't eventually watch them, but there is far better Star Wars content to consume first!

2024-01-20 13:34:19 +0000 UTCThe point is to hear Alex's commentary and watch along with your own copy (or rental). To see and hear clips from the movie, that's what the youtube version is for.

2024-01-19 20:09:50 +0000 UTCCool! Had to check it out for myself. They don't even hide it, it's just that you're following the other ship and probably won't notice the Falcon :)

2024-01-19 20:07:18 +0000 UTCNah, 7-9 are some of my favorite Star Wars movies! Truly fun and exciting to watch, with a bunch of new characters that Alex will absolutely love!

2024-01-19 20:02:46 +0000 UTCI recommend continuing to watch the episodic movies (7, 8, 9) then doing the movies that fill in the blanks (Rogue One, Solo), then doing the shows. Otherwise it would take quite a while to get to the sequel trilogy, and I've been really excited for you to get to them, as I think you'll love them!

2024-01-19 04:45:59 +0000 UTCAnd, another joke. At 23:54, you can see the Millennium Falcon fly in to land a level below where Obi-Wan, Anakin and Palpatine arrive after the battle.
Chryss Guiler
2024-01-18 21:09:42 +0000 UTCAt 03:00 into the movie as Obi-Wan and Anakin are flying their fighters between ships and they're passing a Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser, you'll see something smash into the bottom of the cruiser. I read once that someone told George Lucas that he had everything in this battle but the kitchen sink, so he added that to the scene. :)

2024-01-18 10:24:17 +0000 UTCDumb point to bring up, but I remember you asking mid movie about it, so here goes: Yes there is currency called Credits (yes dumb simple scifi name, role with it), and yes there is a full class system, but it's diverse and complicated both on the capital planet and throughout the Galaxy. Short term, Luke from the OG 3 is pour but fairly middle working class, there's supposedly a whole Upper Middle Class that mostly operates about throughout the galaxy (sort of), and then of course your planetary royalty like Padme of Naboo and Leia of Alderaan after being adopted by the Organo's are at the top next to the galaxy wide corporations and the senate/empire. The capital planet, Coruscant, is a "city planet" where many pour live under the city surface crust in the old planet city structure that was build on top of it.

2024-01-18 04:31:48 +0000 UTCI hope this comment doesn't get lost in the shuffle of all the other comments, but there is a nice bit of detail that I've always loved about the Jedi Starfighter ships that Anakin and Obi-Wan are flying in at the beginning of the movie. They are technically a precursor to the Tie-Fighter/Tie-Interceptor ships that the Imperials use in the OG trilogy. You can tell by the wing shape when they are deployed as well as the hexagonal shape of the cockpit windows. Even the sounds they make when flying sound the same plus the green lasers that they use. It's almost as if Anakin co-opted them for continued use as Darth Vader but obviously gave them a little bit of a "face lift" so to speak. It's just something I never really noticed upon my original watch through of this film but picked up on it over the years after I had seen the movie a few more times. I will always appreciate the attention to detail in the nuggets of evolution that the Star Wars universe goes through. The other more obvious detail you've probably already noticed is that the Clone Troopers are the precursor to the Storm Troopers. Just a little bit of fun fact type of information. Another great reaction and another trilogy down! Can't wait for your next reaction brother! Hope you have a great one! PEACE!

2024-01-17 19:15:04 +0000 UTCI may disagree with Ramon Kloppenburg's stance on the amount of fans The Clone Wars has, but I do agree that doing one video per episode for 133 episodes would take really long. My suggestion: Do it in Arcs. The show tells stories in 1-4 episode Arcs that you can find a list for online. Those make a lot of sense to split the show into.

2024-01-17 18:34:12 +0000 UTCInteresting story: I had the privilege of meeting Hayden Christianson (Anakin) back in 2016. The company I work for was involved with a movie he was filming in my hometown. He's a super chill dude. Very kind, and loves talking about his time playing Anakin. Side note: that particular movie also starred Bruce Willis... so I got to meet him too.

2024-01-17 17:50:38 +0000 UTCJust a suggestion: If you really plan to watch the entire Clone Wars series, I think it's better to watch 2 to 3 episodes per video (around 30 mins per episode / 90 mins per video) just to get through it quicker.. Since it's a seven-season series and it doesn't have many fans. I would assume that's a good compromise for people who (don't) like the show.
Ramon Kloppenburg

2024-01-17 10:12:32 +0000 UTCAs an old guy that actually watched 5 of the 6 star wars movies when they came out for the first time in theaters, try to imagine this perspective.... You grow up with 3 movies that are basically everywhere... toys, video games, the 80's were all about Star Wars... and you accepted that those three movies are it. Then... fast forward about 20 years... and BOOM! new movies! we had such high hopes for the prequels... looking back, there was no way they could live up to the hype... and sadly, Episode 1 soured us for the prequels. What we failed to realize is... our beloved movies were just as campy as the prequels. We had just grown up, and we expected the prequels to grow up as well, and they didn't. And then imagine leaving the saga with Episode 3... the way it ended, Anakin ruined, trapped in a metal shell, believing he killed his one true love... Jedis destroyed, the babies in hiding. Yeah, you know how it ends up... but such a dark end. And then having to accept that was the end of it. Only to have new movies a decade or so later. I don't know if you're gonna go right into episode VII... I think you said you were gonna do the movies, then the shows... but you have the benefit of being able to watch them right away, and not have to wait all that time. It's been really cool to see your take on it... and watching all of these movies again, with older eyes... I love all of them. They are all flawed in their own way, but... they are pretty amazing, and I'd rather have the 6 we have than none at all. Just wait for the final trilogy... I think you'll enjoy the experience.

2024-01-17 07:27:57 +0000 UTCLove the reactions and was here for the whole ride but my guy we need to talk about your mic sensitivity. It's picking up everything from cars going by, the movie audio out of your headphones and for a while there I thought that Roomba was a garbage disposal being run non-stop in the other room. I know your always striving to put out the best that you can and sorting this out with either a new mic or adjusting your current one will be a big step in that direction. Plus your editor will thank you because they won't have to work around or toss away so much footage because of the background noise bleed over. Keep up the good work and can't wait to see what's next.

2024-01-17 06:17:18 +0000 UTCThe thing is Anakin being the chosen one is still a completed prophecy. How was the forced balanced when you had 1000s of light side jedi in the galaxy and a handful of Dark side users / sith in the galaxy like 10 or less? Anakin as a sith culled the Jedi numbers to far far less and if you count only the original 6 movies by movie 6 only Vader, palp and Luke exist as major force users. And Luke in movie 6 is shown to have more of a mix of dark and light in him similar to his father here with his aggression in movie 6. Anakin/Vader finally fulfills the prophecy by killing Palpatine who imbalanced the force to the dark side then dying leaving thr force balanced with Luke alone. In the end the prophecy is fulfilled with the force basically getting a reset after 1000s of years of the light or dark being in power

2024-01-17 06:12:25 +0000 UTCNo no no, Yoda was wrong. In that same movie he says fear is of the Dark Side, and now you're saying it was right to fear Anakin? Fearing Anakin was the problem. Their fear of him was a big big factor in his negative feelings and mistrust for them. If they just loved him and let him love, guided him properly, he wouldn't have turned. The solution was definitely not to fear Anakin more and leave him on Tattooine.

2024-01-17 05:09:21 +0000 UTCI was just browsing Star Wars soundtracks on Amazon and came across an album that was released (and we bought it) in 1977. It's a disco interpretation of the score that John Williams wrote for 'Star Wars' (1977). "Music Inspired by Star Wars and Other Galactic Funk" by Meco. Check it out, it's pretty cool.

2024-01-17 04:15:38 +0000 UTCThis reaction was so sick 🤙 loved hearing your thoughts afterwards! I feel like your best port of call after this would be the Obi-Wan series as it bridges the first two trilogies perfectly and is only six episodes. Then you could move on to the rest of the movies and then all the other series in the world. It’s up to you though! You’re a Star Wars fan now, no one gets to tell you what to enjoy or how to enjoy it! 🙌❤️

2024-01-17 01:53:13 +0000 UTCA self fulfilling prohecy indeed. Yoda warned QuiGon back in episode 1 the danger of training Anakin at his age..he was already old enough to be emotionally attached to his mother who he missed. fastforward to episode 2 she dies and he feels responsible, coupled with his romantic feelings for Padme....Now here in episode 3, Yoda explains seeing the future is danger because fearing loss will lead to jealousy...(dictionary definition of Jealously: to fear losing something) which will make you angry, when youre angry, you will suffer...Anakin literally fell in each step of yoda's warning without listening to him

2024-01-17 01:44:52 +0000 UTCIf you don’t feel some sympathy for Anakin by the end of the trilogy then maybe you need to re-watch with a different perspective. I mean, everything was kind of against him from the start. His only hope of escaping a life of slavery that he was born into meant leaving his mother behind and joining an order of space monks who tell him that missing his mother and having human feelings is a bad thing. Qui-Gon, who was against the dogmatic nature of the Jedi and understood what kind of guidance Anakin needed, is killed, and he loses the only person resembling a father figure he ever had. Obi-Wan is more of a brother to him, and so Palpatine fills that father role that he’s been searching for. His mother dies in his arms, and he blames himself for not being able to prevent it since he’s been told his whole life that he’s some mythical, all-powerful, chosen one. He then finds himself in the middle of a war in which all sides are tugging at him, and he’s forced to live a double life at home, all while being twisted and molded by Palpatine who’s pulling all the strings. When the only person who seems to understand him reveals that he can also help him prevent another loved one from dying, it’s kind of a no brainer to go along with it, considering the Jedi don’t really care for him anyway. Regarding the younglings, once Anakin kills Mace Windu there really is no turning back for him. He has to commit himself to Palpatine at that point and that means helping him hunt down the remaining Jedi…all of the Jedi. It makes no sense to leave the Padawans as they’re essentially potential enemies down the line, and any surviving high-ranking Jedi Knight could use them to revive the Jedi Order. Training them in the dark side isn’t an option either because of the already established “Rule of Two”, which means there is only one Sith Master and one Sith apprentice. It’s screwed up but what choice does he have once he crosses that threshold? The scene where he ignites his lightsaber and stares down the youngling who resembles little Ani was also meant to symbolize Vader killing his former self.

2024-01-17 01:10:29 +0000 UTCAnother thing, I remember watching RotS in theaters with my dad when I was 7 and hearing Darth Vader breathe for the first time was something I will never forget. The entire theater was SILENT and gave me chills.

2024-01-17 00:58:16 +0000 UTCHonestly, some might disagree with me- But i feel like its almost a MUST that you watch the Kenobi series following revenge of the sith. Its set in the gap between ROTS and A New Hope

2024-01-17 00:29:14 +0000 UTCI would recommend watching the Obi-Wan series before the Clone Wars. While you’re fresh on the OT and Prequels.

2024-01-16 23:50:14 +0000 UTC"she lost the will to live, but not before naming her kids and admitting hope that anakin still had good in him.....then dies" such bad sloppy writing. they should have kept that crap out and just had her die from anakin choking her out. like she was barely alive and obi managed to get her to a med ship to save the kids before her body fully died. also felt anakins turn was way too rushed here.... which i guess is why the clone wars exists though it doesnt make sense how much content they fit in there in between episode 2 and 3. I also dont like Leia being Lukes sister since that was a total afterthought and Lucas just wanting to 1 up the "im your father" moment basically "I gotta have a twist.... well these 2 have been making out and wanting to bone for 2 movies... lets make them siblings like some GoT shit"

2024-01-16 23:19:44 +0000 UTCThere is so much info I can finally dump here, that I don't even know where to start! Count Dooku aka Darth Tyranus, was in on the plan to turn Anakin to the Dark Side, but he did not know that Sidious planned on letting him be killed. He never expected Anakin to defeat him, let alone kill him. He thought that he was going to be the one training Anakin, and that Sidious would be both of their masters. He was genuinely terrified of Anakin by the end of the duel. He was also supposed to kill Obi Wan, rather than simply knock him out, but his lingering affections for Qui Gon Jinn stayed his hand, because Obi Wan reminded him of Qui Gon. General Grievous is coughing because Master Mace Windu (Sam L. Jackson) crushed his ribcage while he was kidnapping the Chancellor in the original Clone Wars cartoon, before which Grievous was monstrous and capable of fighting several Jedi Masters at once. The purple weapon that Grievous throws at the window was an Electrostaff used by his Magna Guards. The Magna Guards were made to be Grievous' body guards and capable of facing off against Jedi. They were very effective when not fighting Master's (or Anakin). By this time in the story, The Jedi were hot on the trail of the Sith Lord. They had successfully tracked the Sith Lord to Palpatine's apartments, and they believed it was one of his immediate advisors, but they had completely dismissed the idea of Palpatine himself being the Sith. The three Jedi that Master Windu brought with him to fight Palpatine were three of the strongest and most powerful Jedi Masters and duelists, along with Windu himself. Master Kitt Fisto, Master Agen Kolar, and Master Saesee Tiin. The fact that only Master Kitt Fisto was able to survive more than a few seconds is a testament to his skill in deuling. Windu was winning due to his lightsaber form, Vaapaad, which uses the darkness of their opponent to fuel their own power. Windu invented the form based on a Sith lightsaber form, Juyo, which uses the Dark Side to fuel their strength. Against an opponent like Sidious, the most powerful Sith in history, Windu would have been virtually unbeatable in that One-v-One situation. There is some speculation that Sidious threw the fight in order to turn Anakin to the Dark Side, which is possible, even likely, as well. When Palpatine's apperance changes during his duel with Windu, that is what he always looked like. He was using Sith Alchemy to hide his true appearance, which was dissipated by his use of Sith Lightning. Anakin sided with Sidious primarily out of hopelessness. He betrayed Master Windu, resulting in his death, and now sees no other path. His desire to save Padme overcame every qualm he may have had. Order 66 was one of several hundred orders that the clones were progammed with when they were created. It labeled the Jedi as traitors and marked them for extermination. The clones had no choice but to obey their programming, burnt nutsack Chancellor or not. For context, Sidious, through Count Dooku and Master Sifo Dyas (unknowingly), was the one who organized the creation of the Clone Army for the Republic, after which they killed Sifo Dyas. As a matter of interest, Order 65 would have had the clones attack the Chancellor as a traitor, instead of the Jedi. Darth Vader killed the Jedi Younglings because of the Rule of Two: Only two sith are permitted, no more and no less. Darth Sidious and Darth Vader were to be the only Sith in the galaxy. Anakin was younger and stronger than Obi Wan, and he was being fueled by rage and the Dark Side. That is why Obi Wan needed to use two hands to Anakin's one during their duel. Palpatine would likely have lost the duel against Yoda. He, with all his power and posturing, was terrified of him before the duel ended. Yoda only retreated because clone reinforcements were coming to protect the Emperor. He had a time limit to defeat him, and he could not. That is why he failed. Palpatine drained the midichlorians out of Padme using the force to keep Darth Vader alive. That's why she dies. Anakin felt nothing but hopelessness after he loses Padme and his children. With nothing left to live for he was consumed by the Dark Side and continues to side with Sidious. Darth Vader's suit keeps him alive, but in terrible pain to fuel his rage and strengthen the Dark Side within him. Sidious created it that way as punishment for losing to Obi Wan and ruining his plans. Anakin could have upgraded it, but believed he deserved it as punishment for all the evil things he'd done for nothing. Vader needed an onboard computer to interpret everything he said, because his vocal chords were ruined. This is why Hayden Christensen suddenly sounds like James Earl Jones. The cheesy "NOOO" from Vader at the end was his computer's best interpretation of his screams of agony and loss. The children were separated to make it harder for Vader and the Emperor to ever find them and train them as Sith. With Vader's ruined body, his potential was stunted, and the Emperor would have wanted to replace him with a newer, stronger Apprentice. One that he could train from scratch, in Luke and Leia. I think I covered most of every question you asked, and gave adequate background information. If not, someone else will have to cover the things I missed, because I haven't typed this much in ages...

2024-01-16 23:16:50 +0000 UTCAnakin couldnt train the younglings there is something called the rule of 2. 1 sith lord 1 apprentice.
Shadowtrader1929
2024-01-16 23:15:31 +0000 UTCSo, The Sith have a rule, It's called, The Rule of Two, A Master and an Apprentice, no more and no less. And usually the Apprentice learns the Dark Side and eventually becomes the Master, often by killing their master to assume the position, they then find an apprentice of their own. Although this rule hasn't always been. And yes, being stronger in the force can help you wield the lightsaber because it makes your senses and physical strength and speed better when used correctly.

2024-01-16 23:05:38 +0000 UTCthe reason why they split them up is because there a kin of anakin. anakin is the “chosen one” and has the highest midichlorian count. with him having the highest midichlorian count it means luke and leia also have the joint second highest midichlorian which means luke and leia couldve followed in footsteps of anakin (just not evil and burnt like a nugget) hense why the split them up

2024-01-16 23:04:03 +0000 UTCI love this film and especially the soundtrack! I hope you appreciate the music in this film, because you don't really address it in your reactions. Episode III has by far the best OST (original soundtrack) of all the Star Wars films! Thank you John Williams and George Lucas for these masterpieces!

2024-01-16 23:02:44 +0000 UTCComing with an update after watching the reaction to answer some of your questions Alex and also to tell some facts: - Darth Plagueis the wise was the master of Darth Sidious (the one Sidious talks to Anakin about) - Yes, Grievous has a lung and a heart. He is a Kaleesh and became a Kaleesh-Cybord after a terrible accident. - Anaking bringing balance to the force doesn't mean Anakin being nice. It means to bring balance, so good and evil together. - Maybe you didn't catch that, but Sidious announced the Galactic Republic turning into the Galactic Empire. Meaning that's the empire they fight in 4, 5 and 6. The clone troopers they use there are the same ones. - If you watch closely, you can see Anakin and Sidious have yellow eyes sometimes. That's the dark side corruption and a trait of the Sith. It's just Anakin was swiping between good and evil and Sidious could hide his dark side. - Yes, Yoda was the strongest Jedi at the time of the movies. You pick up a thing or two over a life of 900 years. Peace, a star wars nerd.

2024-01-16 23:02:41 +0000 UTCThere is still the sequels you should watch. They are heavily controversial, but you should make up your own mind and watch them. From my experience a lot of new star wars fans enjoy them.

2024-01-16 22:54:17 +0000 UTCthis is my fave movie of all time im so hyped!! Star wars really is the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker... its heartbreaking. Seduced by the devil ,pushed away and let down by the jedi order, let down by himself. The jedi were too dogmatic in their treatment of Anakin, he started old for a jedi and already had a messed up childhood as a slave plus a deep attatchment to his mother....he was always a deeply emotional and passionate human being and basically just telling him to "let go" of his feelings was never going to work.. If only Qui-Gon had lived to be his master. Glad you are watching the clone wars it adds so much more context. He felt pushed and pulled by every side. Absolutely gut wrenching tale of how a once loving and caring little boy can become Evil. It's important to remember that Anakin IS the chosen one, he did bring balance to the force and defeat the sith when he is redeemed by Luke in ROTJ, after seeing and knowing the good side of Anakin in the prequels and clone wars, it makes seeing him again in his redemption with Luke so much more emotional. episodes 1-6 IMO is the greatest story ever told
