Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones

Hey everyone!

I hope you guys had a fantastic holiday season and Christmas with your loved ones! I appreciate your patience with this week's content! Traveling to Texas and spending time with family has been extremely time-consuming and difficult to upload content during that!

I love you guys so much! I plan on putting a schedule out a little later today!

Love,

Alex

ps: enjoy this reaction! :)

Comments

My preference is watching it all in chronological order. Throw in the tv shows too if you want

flynn mathis

@Kev Martin If he is going to watch the live action shows, then yes, he should watch the animated shows. So much context would be missed. If he watches the movies (solo would be weird for him at the end) then he is fine, but he already said he was watching everything.

Culper (Lukas)

Watch episode 3 first and then watch the clone wars on your own time except react to the last four episodes of season 7 of the clone wars

Joshua Johnson

Best way to go is watch episode 3 next and then do clone wars later on

Drew Baucom

... (if not years)!

Kev Martin

Facts. The animated Star Wars shows are not essential viewing in any way shape or form. No doubt great fun for people who love both Star Wars and cartoons, but everyone but the stans seems to agree they aren't essential at all.

Kev Martin

No the movies are just objectively not subjectively OBJECTIVELY poorly written bad movies and they completely ruin the arcs of all the main characters

William Aguilar

And yet, many many millions of people like if not love them - the ONLY people who seem not to are Star Wars 'Fundamentalists', who (as usual with fundamentalists) insist that things should be just to their personal taste, at all times, or they will be deemed as having no value.

Kev Martin

I suggest you skip the animated Star Wars shows completely (read or watch a recap if you really want, but its not at all necessary). I know the animation stans will disagree and tell you they're the greatest shows ever made etc. But in my opinion they are really for the anifans. As others have pointed out, its long and at times really slow. Say you watched a couple of episodes a week, it would take you literally years to get through them before you can move on to Ep 3 and beyond. Also, its NEVER a good idea to try to watch in 'chronological order', just like it isn't with Marvel, especially if its your first viewing. Its designed to be viewed in the order its released. Always, always release order for the first viewing.

Kev Martin

Definetly watch episode 3 next. The clone wars show is great, i suggest you watch it privately as it has 7 seasons.

Vosgor

Can't wait for your Episode 3 reaction

Joovain

Episode 3 next please

Owen Young

Episode 3 next please

Austin Moser

Alex Please watch the next movie before the clone wars.. I cant wait months for you to watch my most favorite Star Wars movie! haha

Tom Brain

I would say, watch the 3rd Movie next. I just googled and Google says that The Clone Wars series has 7 season with 133 Episodes. So that will take a loooong time. And you say "I think they don't use the Force properly" but you forget, not every Jedi has the same potential/talent with the force, so not everyone can use the Force to its full potential. I am no expert, but I would guess no one can use the Force to its full potential. I think Anakin is the Human with the highest Midi-chlorian count with over 20,000, which pretty much determins your potential with the force, and while he is very strong as Darth Vader he is not all powerful. So yeah, the Force is not a easy thing to use especially not in any crazy capacity. Same reasony why Yoda needs a Cane. Yoda is very old, so he needs a cane. He was only able to jump around like crazy because he used the Force to augment himself physically with it. But that is not something he can keep up 24/7, it would be to exhausting. And that is also the reason why Jedi can jump so high and are physically able to do many not normal things, because they use the Force for it.

NinoDonDino

I'm totally up for however you want t do things, I'm loving the ride. I would recommend, now that you have seen the first two to watch Weird Al Yankovic's video for The Saga Begins. It's got a Star Wars theme and the melody is from the song American Pie.

Carrie Schwent

I'll be honest, I don't think you should upload clone wars on your channel, not because I don't think it's worth watching, it's one of the best shows i've ever watched in my life. But I don't think it fits your style of reactions, plus clonewars is 7 seasons long which the first 3 are kinda slow. I'd say just watch episode 3 right away, and then if you want to, watch the clone wars privately. Although I guess it could work if you do them like you do the boys, you watch a couple of episodes a vid. After you've checked out the movies, feel free to react to the live action shows. You don't need to watch the animated shows to follow the story, it's not required at all, but you should be warned that a lot of characters will be from the clone wars and you will miss out on a ton of history and character-development. But like I said, watch the next movie, and then decide on what to do.

MrPeran

The Clone Wars Animated shows are great, they take place between this movie and Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith. There is also Tales of the Jedi, which tells a lot of Qui-Gon's, Dooku's, and Anakin's training lineage, and is quite short with only 6 episodes. They aren't necessary before you watch Revenge of the Sith, but they enrich the experience in addition no matter the order. After all of that, I cannot recommend Andor the series, followed by Rogue One enough. They are some of the best of Star Wars. The Mandalorian and it's related series take place after Return of the Jedi but before the next movie trilogy, and are pretty good too. They are also improved by having watched the clone wars series, so it kind of all comes around to that. I just now remembered that there was a Han Solo Movie, and it was all right. I think it runs concurrent to the Andor series, but it's kind of like sprinkles on a cupcake at this point, arguably improves the whole, but has die-hard fans. Sadly, the worst new star wars is the 7,8,and 9 movies. They feel like the directors were getting divorced and the plot had to spend alternating weeks with each jaded guardian. I'm not ending this monster comment on a bad note, so check out the Bad Lip Reading of star wars. You will have a great time, don't bust a gut laughing too hard. Much love, take care y'all!

Caseman

Can't wait to see your reaction to 3 :D

Devin Bidwell

It is not a spoiler to say that yes Palpatine and Sidious are the same person. It was slapping you right in the face in episode 1.

Rahleo

DO NOT watch the sequel trilogy they are DOGSHIT they ruin all the characters the best order is to either watch the clone wars in arc flow chronological order then episode 3 revenge of the sith then Rebels then Rogue One OR Episode 3 then Rogue One tehn clone wars then badbatch then rebels but do not watch "7 8 9" there is no 7 8 and 9 they are terrible

William Aguilar

I can't wait for alex to get to Rogue one, I really want to see his reaction to the Darth Vader since towards the end.

Joshua Snellbaker

"Anakin, tuck your darkness back in"! I love it!

Andrew Freeman

I'd say Episode III. If you want to start a new show on the channel, The Clone Wars is a great watch, either before or after Episode III, but not necessary if you want to keep it just the movies.

Dean Tarrin

If you REALLY want to get all the info in the right order, watch the Clone Wars TV show S1-S7E8, and then RotS. But that's about 80 episodes I think so quite a lot to keep up with.

FistMeDaddy

Honestly, Alex…you really can’t go wrong with release order. Easiest way to make sure nothing is spoiled is and it’s the way many of us watched it as well. Love watching your take on things, bud!

StonerThoosie

The fact that he was busy looking up their ages and missed the infamous “sand” line 😅

StonerThoosie

Dunno if this was already mentioned but the Royal Palace of Naboo where anakin and padme kiss and eventually have the wedding is actually the Royal Palace of Caserta just outside of Naples, Italy. It's truly gorgeous and worth a trip if you ever travel to Italy.

Purple Cowboy

My order will always be 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, Then you can jump into the series. You can check out this page here for a full breakdown on the different ways to watch the movies, though. :) https://www.popsci.com/diy/how-to-watch-star-wars-in-order/

Logan Kerlee

Episode 3 next then the clone wars series

PKKite

Definitely Episode 3 next.

Princessmedion

All i want is episode 3 next, thats all i care about

Daniel Casimir

Best Option: Ep3, Ep7, Ep8, Ep9, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Clone Wars chronological watch order, Mandalorian S1-S2, Book Of Boba, Mandalorian S3, Ashoka, Andor, Rouge One, Solo (this is just my opinion, clone wars will take awhile so putting it in the middle is ideal and this order goes well with the timeline, scenes in mando reference the sequel trilogy, Andor and Rouge One take place before Ep4 and can be watched anytime during this order)

Zachariah John

Fuck the fandom. I enjoyed most of 7, 8, and 9.

LoganPool

Do part 3, Rogue One, then 7,8,9. Then the Mandalorian

Ryan Towell

rogue one takes place between 3 and 4 though.

Ryan Towell

you asked about force users and being a good military strategist....remember to all the movies you've watched so far, you hear a common phrase from the jedi, which is "search your feelings," "clear your mind," when a force user stretches their mind out in the force and their mind's aren't clouded, they can have see the situation better...almost like a 6th sense. so, it would help a military general for sure if they had that. probably doesn't mean they will see everything...guess that would depend on level of force control and whether they cleared their mind of clouded thoughts.

Nate Terry

Yoda is almost 900 years old, I assure you, he needs a cane. When he fought Dooku, he channeled the force totally through him which allowed him to be "superhuman." once he let go of the force, he needed a cane again. Since it isn't the jedi way to abuse the force, he's not gonna channel the force constantly, plus it's probably draining as well. Remember, that the jedi is a religion of sorts. they don't view using the force for personal gain or excessively...so your not gonna see them displaying grand force powers like you see a dark side user. they will use just the necessary amount of force to get the job done. Think of them like catholic monks and nuns. they believe in individual restraint....even if some fail and fall..

Nate Terry

Mandalorian next 🤘🏻

Joe Peterson

3, 7, 8, 9, rogue one, solo

Joshua

🤫

StonerThoosie

Just continue to do everything in release order. This is the way. It's how everyone watched it originally, and the references put in we're based on the assumption that the audience had seen everything released prior.

Brad Beach

Definitely Revenge of the Sith followed by Rogue One. Solo is fun, but doesn't really have any affect on the story. If you decide to do shows I'd do Obi Wan, then Andor. Honestly, if you decide to watch the sequels at some point, it might be better to watch the Mandalorian first. I definitely recommend watching the clone wars animated show, but rather you want to do that on YouTube or not is up to you. It really adds a ton to the overall story.

Chandler McCoy

Revenge of the Sith next for sure

Brayden Frazier

I would watch only important episodes whole show take so long to watch entirely

kebekcz

I have never seen someone more wrong in my life. Watch the damn CW show.

Culper (Lukas)

As he has mentioned many times on his patreon site, ”Please note: all videos are edited in a watch along style format, so you will need your own copy of the film/show to sync up with me!” To clarify, you need your own copy of the movie/episode that he’s watching. Which you then sync to his timecode showed in the lower right corner. Thats why he does a countdown in the beginning, so that you can get close, I usually just pause/play to get them completely lined up.

Purple Cowboy

It's probably just my opinion but the Obi Wan show brings nothing new to the character of Kenobi. It's a waste of time. The last episode is really cool, but in my opinion it's not worth it. It's one of the two shows that Alex really doesn't have to watch to understand Star Wars.

IGOR PODEMSKI

Absolutely disagree. If you hate the Clone Wars... just say it. The entire clone troopers arc, the Mortis arc, it all enhances the experience. He doesn't have to watch all of the episodes. But these arcs are arguably just as important as the main movies.

IGOR PODEMSKI

My suggestion for the next order is, definitely, Revenge of the Sith. Then, you can decide if you want to go with Rogue One... which is awesome, btw... or go straight to the sequel trilogy. Then, I'd go with the back stories, like Solo. Save the Clone Wars series for after the movie series is complete. I don't feel one needs to go through the entire Clone Wars to appreciate the stories in the films. The other series are, literally, just fillers for context of what one already knows.

Tymm Gwayn

i agree also

Manuel Escobar

Yeah completely agree here

zimy__

Please dont watch the animated shows. Nothing important happens until like season 6 and the rest of the show is just introducing new planets and characters. It has no effect on your watching experience for part 3 and it will take forever to put out all those reactions. I would suggest watch part 3 then go for 7, 8 and 9. and then do the shows.

Mehdi R.

I saw the movies in the theater when they came out. And I didn't watch the Clone Wars (2008) until last year, and I thoroughly enjoyed the CW series, even the early episodes. So I would just say watch episode three and then when you feel like it start the Clone Wars. I really appreciated how the clones were fleshed out in the series, and weren't like unemotional robots.

Chryss Guiler

And 10 years younger than Ewan McGregor.

Chryss Guiler

I'm with you, Greyjoy, but Alex can decide to watch 7,8,9 for himself. I don't think that I can watch them for a second time, but I would be interested in what his opinion of them is.

Chryss Guiler

I agree, Aidan. Watch Episode 3 and then the Clone Wars (2008).

Chryss Guiler

I'd say watch Revenge of The Sith first then the Clone Wars TV show because episode 3 is a great end to the prequel trilogy and you can always go back to the Clone Wars show. Episode 3 is my favorite of the prequels so I'm a bit biased, however, The Clone Wars show is arguably the best of Star Wars.

Kathryn

If you want to watch the best new Star Wars, watch Episode III, then go on to Rogue One and Andor. Clone Wars is good, but it's 130 episodes. Even if you do them multiple episodes at a time, it'll take the better part of a year to finish.

Jeff M

Watch episode 3 then go to the CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER OF Clone wars

Marquis keel

Episode 3 next for sure. Clone wars is a LOT to watch, just finish episode 3 first if you do wanna do clone wars.

Nick Luce

Chin recognition game weak

Nick Luce

Definitely finish the movies, then dig in to the offshoots. Movies like Rogue One are so much more satisfying knowing the back story(and future story honestly) , same with Solo, mándalorian, etc.... I can't wait for you to see Rogue one!!! But I'm willing to wait to make the experience that much more impactful

Allen Werner

The next on you need to watch after Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith is Obi-Wan. It continues after where Star Wars: Episode III leaves off. The events of The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian happens 5 years after Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

Kelby Farley

Woah Alex a huge question for your Star Wars Fandom. I think your ok going on too Episode III. I’ve been a viewer of Star Wars since I was your age and was totally cool with Clone Wars didn’t watch it till a hundred after the rest but don’t want to impress upon your opinion 😊

Billy Heigaard-McGurran

You know how at the end you kept saying, “I’m a dumbass”? So is the Jedi Council. I think you might as well keep going in release order. Seasons 1-6 of The Clone Wars (2008) take place between the Episode 2 and 3 movies and gives more context, sure. But so does watching interviews with Dave Filoni. You should definitely check out the show when the time comes. It really is great.

Brian Stanaland

Definetly just watch the last remaining movie, finish what you started so to speak. Then the series imo :)

Cyka Blyat

the first few seasons of clone wars are really bad. i couldnt sit through them myself. i just watched reactions to it figuring it would be easier to stomach a trimmed down version. i will admit it does get good later on but the fact that it isnt even in its own timeline order and toward the end it will spoil episode 3 if you dont stop at the right time. so there is a whole watch order if you wanna bother trying to keep track of that..... or just watch it in the order we had to.

Magus

they toned down Jar Jar so much in this movie after all the hate and death threats from the first movie and even then people simply seeing his face on screen made them rage.... people need to relax.

Magus

As always, another great reaction!! Looking forward to the next one, whichever that may be! Thank you and I hope you had a great Christmas!

The Splawn

he should skip 7,8,9 most of the fandom don't even consider it canon

Greyjoy

I never liked the awkward love scenes in this movie, they seemed too "forced" (😅). But besides that I actually enjoyed watching it again. BTW did you notice that the music during the landing of all the clones at the end was the dark side theme and not the usual Star Wars theme?

SwissNightOwl

i would so watch clone wars but after at least episode 3

Ryan

Some of yall are on some crack. Watch Revenge of the Sith first, since you're going in release order already, then watch the Clone Wars show after that. Followed by Rogue One. I still stand by you NOT watching the last 3 movies or anything after the Mandalorian (except apparently Andor?), but I guess that's you're decision. But definitely watch The Clone Wars show before you watch anything after Episode 3.

DarnedStingray8

You should definitely watch the clone wars at some point but the earlier seasons drag a little bit and it's probably better to just watch episode 3 first while everything is still fresh in your mind.

Mellow

I think the best order to watch Star Wars is to complete the main movies before moving on to the TV shows like Clone Wars and Rebels.

Future

I would finish the movies and then go back to the shows if it interests you

Amanda Jurvis

I would recommend you watching Clone Wars next before you watch Revenge of the Sith. However I realize that’s a significant commitment so I’m happy with either! Just super excited to watch this through someone else’s eyes for the first time!!!

Bmac

I’ll also add that you should watch the behind the scenes for these movies on twitch. They are all on YouTube and will answer all your questions you have about how they filmed a lot of these scenes.

Quinn Sliter

Finish this trilogy, then watch the sequel trilogy, then the two spin off movies, and then The Clone Wars movie followed by the seven series, then Tales of the Jedi, then Rebels. Then as for live action, Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Mandolorian, The Book of Bobba Fett and then Ahsoka... Also feel free to watch Bad Batch too, and then next year we have Skeleton Crew and The Acolyte coming too!

Jake Beer

I understand people saying you should watch the clone wars before the next movie, but you should just watch it as we all did by continuing with the next movie. Episode 3 adds a lot of depth to the clone wars that you wouldn’t really understand unless you’ve seen revenge of the sith, as the show was made with the intention the viewer has seen episode 3.

Quinn Sliter

I would suggest just continuing with the movies and coming back to the series afterwards, as this will give you more context and take less time to actually get to the end of the movie, and I mean ALOT less time. You need the movies done first.

bombraider333

Yoo Alex, for Clone Wars, it’s definitely worth it and would make Revenge of the Sith a 10x better experience for you. Then again, if you want to finish the movies first that’s cool. If you do decide to go for Clone Wars though, which would be sick, watch it in Chronological order! Just look it up, it’s definitely the best way to watch it. Anyway, you the man, have fun with the rest of the holidays.

Roko 1.0

I had to look it up. Hayden Christensen is two months older than Natalie Portman.

Brian Stanaland

Clone Wars is AMAZING but time consuming, I'd recommend watching that and all the other shows after the saga. Watching them afterwards makes them even more fun to watch imo

Josh

I'd definitely watch episode 3 next. Then after if you want more context do the Clone Wars animated series. You'll see other reasons as to why Anakin turns to the dark side. Episode 3 is just the absolute final straw to make his decision final! Enjoy Alex can't wait to see your reaction!!!

Anthony Peru

you 100% need to watch the clone wars tv show after the movies

Josh

Please save any shows until after the Skywalker Saga of movies, including 7, 8, and 9. The shows will take MONTHS to get through.

LoganPool

Do clone wars after Episode 3, and then go straight into Rebels then into Mandolorian > Book of Boba Fett > Ahsoka

CHAOS PARTICLE

YOU MUST WATCH CLONE WARS NEXT! IT'S GONNA BE A LONG JOURNEY BUT IT'S WORTH IT!

IGOR PODEMSKI

Definitely watch the clone wars. You would love it. That being says d, it’s probably ok to save it till after the movies

Ryan

Clone Wars is a great show and you should definitely watch it, but it would take a very long time to get through, so I think you should just go on to episode 3 for now and then maybe watch that and the Obi Wan show after.

Aidan

either watch the clone wars show before or after episode 3. It will take some time but it is absolutely worth it. You must watch the show in chronological order and not release order, its a little messy at the beginning but the experience of watching it in chronological order is some of the best star wars you will watch.

Joseph Caldwell

Just continue straight to the episode 3

Elias Varhi

So excited for this reaction! Hope you're having a great time in Texas. Love from Switzerland

Vosgor

i couldnt hear anything nor see

benjamin warvelin

Hi, yes the clone wars show takes place between episode 2 and 3. I don't know what you have planned but I would recommend to watch it, especially if you are also doing other Star Wars shows. I would watch it before episode 3, but it is a time commitment, it's also fine if you skip it for now, it just adds alot of lore and fleshes stuff out that the movies didn't have time for. There are a lot of episodes and if you watch in chronological order the quality of each episode can be bad to very good.

Dzenis

Let’s goooooo

Ryan “Rineran” Fox

Thanks Alex!! You the man!!

Billy Heigaard-McGurran

Hope the holidays are treating you well! Also, I'm not sure what your viewing plans are but you should absolutely watch the animated show Clone Wars before you watch Episode III. It's a bit time consuming and messy trying to watch in order but it's absolutely worth it imo.

Jadon Martinez

Can’t wait to watch along later!

Garrett Bishop

To hide their marriage they swapped droids with each other instead of rings
