Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy watching this reaction as much as I enjoyed making the reaction for you all! :)

I watched this on Disney+ for those of you who are wondering! Thank you guys so much for the constant love and support you show me every single day over here on Patreon!

Am I the only one seeing a blurred screen with a timer on the bottom right, why can’t I see the movie?

David Smith

Testicle head lol

I was wondering why you just seemed so nonchalant when Vader said he was Luke's father. I was really expecting more. And then when you figured it out I was very happy. Chewy is actually over 150 years old. Outside outside outside of the franchise there are 2 movies so a star wars story and rogue 1 a star wars story so low is the whole back story and chewy Rogue 1 actually you could call a prequel to episode 4 so I hope that you do both of those. The bounty hunter he's a mandalorian So you had said you watched it but it's terribly confused this where mandalorian's 1st appeared in the series. Since I am seeing this now on the 25th I think you already did return of the Jedi which I'm gonna watch right now. I'm really enjoying your reactions. I'm a new patreon and I was hoping that I would get access to all the harry potters but maybe they're there and I just haven't found them yet. Congratulations on your marriage

Lesa Ahrenstein

Nice! Same here. :)

Logan Kerlee

Yeah, I wanna see it.

Philip Davetas

By fuck, dude. This is a legit classic. Some say this is the best movie of the franchise and yeah, I agreed until I saw ROGUE ONE.

Philip Davetas

Random question: Anybody on here watching or planning to watch Monarch: Legacy of Monsters?

Logan Kerlee

Many people consider this movie to be the best of episodes I-VI. I agree that it is the best, although Star Wars (1977) always holds a special place in my heart. It could stand on its own as exceptional, even without the next two. I do remember, however, when we watched Vader's ship go twirling away from the Death Star, we thought, "Sequel!"

Chryss Guiler

Hell and devil symbolism because of forest creatures living in their environment? He did not say "Luke, I am your father".

Robert Miller

Loved the watch Along! Cant wait for more!

Asheenah

He’s a reactor. He supposed to say things.

Triene (Katie)

Woah that’s amazing

Triene (Katie)

This is similar to my interpretation.

Triene (Katie)

Movies aside, when you are just out and about in the world, or feel the need for some inspiration, listen to the soundtrack. The original score for any of these movies is some of the most epic music ever composed.

Ranger Maverick

Dude the rabbit hole continues, remember the bounty hunter...

As someone who grew up on these films, here is the way I always translated Leia's kisses for Luke (since we all heard her admit to being in love with Han). A New Hope: the chasm on the Death Star: "For Luck." (It was after all on the cheek). A New Hope: After the destruction of the Death Star: "For joy in Victory" (again, on the cheek). Empire: In the Sick by after Luke is rescued on the ice world, Hoth: "This will make Han jealous". Han just got done bragging, and she told Han he didn't know anything about women then kissed Luke. It was cruel, if you will, to toy with Luke to make Han jealous, but she was more interested in Han's feelings than Luke's. Empire: on the Falcon, after saving Luke from Cloud City: "Thank God you didn't die, too." She just watched her lover get frozen and was glad to at least get her friend back. The kiss was, in my opinion, platonic. Return of the the Jedi: since you haven't seen it, I won't worry about pulling apart relationships yet. Just recall that it was three years between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back. And it is about a year (time wise in the movies) between Empire and Jedi. Maybe affections change, maybe they don't. We'll see.

It's worth revisiting Yoda's lesson on the Force. It'll only become more relevant as time goes on.

Koala Banana

I saw this in the theaters when I was a kid and I still remember the audiences reaction when Darth said "I am your father", there were actual kids crying.

Ryan Towell

Really? Did you not read my comment? These movies are really good, and EP 1, 2 and 3 are top tier. EP 7, 8 and 9, although insanely good CGI, are just trash because of terrible story, plot, plot twists etc. The " No, i am you father" line always gives me chills. Good CGI and fightscenes helps, but not at all if the rest is a crap load of bullshit

TK Brennmoen

And if you'd listen, you'd hear the line "No...... I am your father" not "Luke I am your father."

Michael Weiner

Can't wait to watch this reaction, finally joined your Patreon for Star Wars. (love your youtube content)

Triforce of Shadows

You drown out so many important lines with comedy routines. It's so frustrating!

Michael Weiner

I will always think of this one as the best. The shock of “I am your father” seals it for me. Even if another one is objectively better it doesn’t matter.

Brian Stanaland

u should look up how darth was in the comics, or how string he wouldve been. its insane

kev

Here we see the modern Star Wars fan. The only thing they want is epic action scenes with CGI. Lesson? Moral? Story? What's that?

Koala Banana

they're "bad lip readings"

Now that you’ve seen this movie you need to react to the seagulls song by bad lipsync

What I enjoy the most about your reactions is there you somehow managed to stay in the dark about all of this. True new reactions are great.

Andrew Freeman

Loved you wisdom on life when Yoda was talking to Luke about the dark side! For me this movie is REALLY good with very good plot and pasing, but as a 21 year old who just got into Star Wars a few years ago, and is a bit of a sucker for good cgi, i will never be able to look past it. I know it was ahead of its time, but not feeling the fear of the monster in the beginning because it looks bad, not feeling the proper weight and massivness of the walkers and the laser beams, damages and lightsabers looking bad in relevance to modern day cgi, its hard for me to really invest in and fully enjoy these movies. Also the fighting scenes are "a little" anti-climatic. Personally, i cant wait for you to watch ep 1, 2 and 3. Ep 3 is just top tier and i cant wait for you to connect ALOT of dots watching those movies, they are phenomenal. Of course, Star Wars ep 7, 8 and 9 are (in spite of insanly good cgi that just blows my mind and leaves me with chills everytime i watch it, and makes up for alot of absolutely trash plot, storytelling and pasing) just a bounch of horseshit. Star Wars and The Boys should be a priority moving forward. Top tier show and movies. Not saying that just because i want it (although i do), but im sure many others feel the same. Also, to much time in between can, happens to even the best of us, maybe make you forget small things that can be important or vital later, and then again make later stuff a bit unclear.

So there's a fun story about the "No, I am your father" line that's basically infamous in movie-making history. It's generally considered one of the greatest plot twists of all time in film. According to Mark Hamill, originally, when the scene was shot, they had Vader say, "Obi-Wan killed your father." It was only in post-production that James Earl Jones dubbed in "No, I am your father," which was the intended line...and the only people who knew that the line was supposed to be that was George Lucas, Irvin Kershner (the movie's director), and Mark Hamill (I suppose to get the proper reaction). And Hamill was only told about the line by the director right before filming the scene and was basically told he was one of only three people who knew what it was, and if it leaked, they'd know it was him. So he kept his mouth shut, nobody knew, not even the rest of the cast, and it became one of the biggest, most well-kept Hollywood secrets ever, at least until the movie released.

Jessica Meigs

(Not saying you didn’t) but people realize now that’s the prequels aren’t even bad, I feel as if prequels are really good fighting and real mid stories, OG is great story and eh fighting, and the sequels have very good fighting and fight scenes, but the story was very very bleh, but same tho EP3 WFFING SHMACKS

OrAnG3

Mate, loved your reaction 🙌 This isn’t my personal favourite but it definitely is the favourite of a lot of old school fans and plenty of younger fans as well! And it is a wonderful movie regardless. I would personally say that things get WAY better than this though! Just to let you know at point where you were talking and might have missed stuff: Han never killed the Tauntaun, it died from the cold as the rebels predicted when Han left the base. Vader force-choked another officer when you were talking about the Pokémon training montage (which I’m stoked for). Yoda tells Luke that a Jedi uses the Force “for knowledge and defense, never for attack”, probably just an interesting thing to remember. Also, I get things are more sensitive now but I do honestly think some of Han’s “moves” in this film were creep-tastic 😂 like if it weren’t for the fact he was Harrison Ford; good-looking, charismatic and essentially good hearted, he would come off as a complete creep and it would for sure be harassment. I guess that shows how much the character holds up though 🤷‍♂️ I’m so excited for you to get to the Prequels and newer movies man!! You’re gonna have such a great time. All the best as always!

Ruarí Kelsey

as much as i love empire strikes back i dont think another star wars movie will ever hit as much for me as episode 3, especially after watching clone wars. this is definitely my second favorite tho i would have to say

Megan Burland

My favourite Star Wars movie, although Rogue One I shamelessly love. Can't wait to see the rest of this journey!

QadenJames

I'm so glad that you never connected "Luke/No, I am your father." It's so hard now a days to not know that Vader is Luke's father, since Tommy Boy and many other media basically have that line somewhere and everyone knows it's Star Wars related. Glad you enjoyed, next up, Return of the Jedi.

Jason Rogue

lmao, I consider this to be the best in the series of films. If we're including all of the shows and everything else - then it's a maybe.

Logan Kerlee

I'm not with you on this. Episode 3's alright but it doesn't compare to this!

Logan Kerlee

This one ranks top for MANY fans! It blows all of the new ones out of the water in my mind. Return of the Jedi, when we watch that in a couple weeks - be prepared for some jaw dropping moments and realizations! It's going to blow your mind, my guy! :) I'm so happy to be watching this with you, dude. Being able to re experience this for the first time with someone else's first is such a joy. :D

Logan Kerlee

This is in my top 3 films of all time! The best in the original Star Wars trilogy and....I thought they smelled bad *huff *puff* on the outside! :)

Darfoto

This is PEAK SW but you might also like episode 3 as much, if not more than episode 5.

IGOR PODEMSKI

Thats the right mentality

Seán

Exciting! Only my third favourite personally but it no doubt is really great. There's just so many of them :) I just noticed that your patreon tier description states that "Star Wars Ep. 1-6 are not available as I do not have the raw footage for those reactions". Did you watch them before? It didn't seem like it, so now I'm really confused.

BratPfanneTV

"best star wars movie ever" you have no idea :D

John Smith

Work can get lost, watching this is now the priority

QadenJames

YESSSS I can’t wait! You doing Star Wars is my Christmas, thank you so much!
