We are almost completely finished with the second season, but there are still SO MANY unasnwered questions thus far!
I have been having a fucking blast with this series! Do you guys think jumping right into Daredevil Season 3 would be a good idea, or do you think we should give it a quick break and then come back to it later?

2023-10-13 18:12:35 +0000 UTCAlso I think a lot of people prefer season 1 to 2 because season 2 can be kind of messy the hand storyline isnβt as compelling as the Frank stuff. The Fisk storyline in season 1 is more focused and themeaticqlly relevant to Matt and his journey to becoming daredevil

2023-10-02 13:00:09 +0000 UTCPersonally I think you need watch Iron Fist then Defenders, the Daredevil season 3. Jessica Jones and Luke cage I feel you skip but if you want to watch them I am so down. But you absolutely can not jump into DareDevil season3. Iron Fist has a lot of info on The Hand!!

If I've got that wrong, then I would definitely add that to the list of other shows you should watch before DD3. Not so much for reasons of plot continuation but because Jessica Jones is one of if not the best Marvel character of all (yes, that really means "my favourite" rather than "the best"), and her character will make infinitely more sense if you get to know her properly before seeing The Defenders.

Every time anyone raises the question of which Netflix Marvel shows to watch, or when, or in what order, you get some people jumping in with their personal favourite saying you MUST watch this, but definitely NOT that, and it does (or doesn't) matter what order it is in. As always, I suggest sticking to the original release order, as this makes sure you know what you need to do for things to make sense, while at the same time respecting the filmmaker(s)' vision. As for Netflix Marvel, I suggest watch at least 1 season of each show. Then based on your own experience, decide if you want to continue. If you liked Jessica Jones S1, check out S2. If you liked the character Luke Cage in JJ S1, check out S1 of Luke Cage. Just jumping straight from DD S2 to DD S3 is pretty much the worst option. As others have said, you'd be lost as to what the hell is going on. Think of The Defenders as Daredevil Season 2.5. Since you like Frank so much, I'd suggest checking out S1 of The Punisher next, then Defenders, and maybe JJ S2 as well. THEN go on the Daredevil S3. Personally I think Luke Cage S1 and Iron Fist S1 are worth checking out too. A lot of people hate them, especially IF, but why not make up your own mind rather than inheriting opinions from haters. Skipping shows in the Netflix Marvel saga is like just watching the Iron Man movies in the MCU, and ignoring other in between things like The Avengers. Take your time - soon enough you'll have run out of Marvel content to watch anyway, so you might as well take it all in, in the proper order.

2023-10-02 04:26:36 +0000 UTCJessica Jones S1 - Worth reacting to Luke Cage S1 - Worth reacting to Iron First S1 - Dog shit, unworthy of a reaction, but could argue theres some stuff thats 'important' to The Defenders The Defenders - Worth reacting to, very relevant to DD S3 Could argue you don't need to watch JJ/LC/IF prior to Defenders and you wouldn't be 100% lost based on things you already know from DD. And then as for The Punisher... unless I'm forgetting something, once DD S2 ends you can pretty much jump right into Frank's world. You'll know everything you need to from this season.

2023-10-01 23:10:05 +0000 UTCFor sure you should watch The Defenders before going to DD season 3. Itβs pretty much Daredevil season 2 1/2. You can figure out who the other three supers are during the Defenders. But Iβm telling you, you would absolutely LOVE Luke Cage season 1.

(Theres no need to watch the other Defenders shows yet, Jessica Jones etc, but you can if you so wish to get their backstory).....However, please watch 'Defenders' first, i believe its only 8 episodes? And Daredevil 3 continues directly from Defenders. If you go straight to DD3 right now you'll be missing a big chunk of Matt's story and character development and wont understand why he's the way he is (physically & emotionally) when the season starts. Also, DD3 is THE BEST of the 3π

Some are much better then others but even the βbadβ have some cool moments and could answer questions you have or make it so you arenβt confused most of the time. Jessica Jones first season is also incredible and sheβs a great character.

So if you skip The Defenders, you're going to have a HUGE gap in Matt's story and things are gonna stop making sense lol.

The beginning of season 3 will make ZERO sense to you without having watched The Defenders. Thankfully, it's short--I think there's only eight episodes, so it's a faster watch than most of them--but there are plot lines that resolve themselves at the beginning of season three that won't even make sense without having watched The Defenders, and you're going to be so lost without them. You could probably get away with not watching Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist before watching the Defenders, too; they're important to the story, but there's enough of them in The Defenders to give you an idea of what those characters are like, and there's not a whole lot from their shows that carries over into The Defenders (please note, though, I haven't watched The Defenders in a while, so I'm a little shaky on the accuracy of that part). Either way, DEFINITELY watch The Defenders, THEN Daredevil Season 3 at minimum. Then dive into The Punisher seasons; those stand a bit more apart from the main storyline, though there's some character crossover from one to the other. :)
