One thing in comparison with the comics is that it involved EVERYONE. ALL THE HEROES AND MANY VILLAINS. On such a scale this definitely fails to match the comic equivalent. But I think there is also potential for a sequel down the road which could be much bigger. Also consider in the comics there was a Skrull Queen and she had infiltrated The Avengers, SHIELD and Hydra as a triple agent posing as Jessica Drew aka Spider-Woman. And the person that gets the kill shot on this Queen at the end of the comic story is Norman Osborn aka Green Goblin aka Iron Patriot. During the story Norman was leading the Thunderbolts team which also had Mac Gargan The Scorpion who was bonded with the Venom Symbiote at the time. On top of that Spider-Man was involved in the main story as well. That said a LOT of Spider-Man characters which unfortunately the film rights belonging to Sony would not allow for a proper comic to live action conversion. So naturally they have to go a different route and tell the story without using Spider-man characters they don't have the rights to. I think the show was good and entertaining and potentially sets up more for the future. I think the "McDonald's" comparison to "steaks" is if they add a certain amount of "wokeness" into the show which I don't really think they did. But the comics went "woke" around the time the MCU actually started. So a little bit is to be expected. You have to consider that with such a library of characters, there is a huge range of diversity that Marvel has already achieved in its history of storytelling through comics. The difference there is a $3 (now $5, showing my age) comics versus a multi million dollar films/shows. You can get away with making garbage material that nobody's going to read when it's in the less expensive format of a comic book. That's because comics only ever appealed to a select group but movies and films appeal to just about everyone. I guess, if you were a fan of the comics and a fan of the entirety of the world Marvel built then you'll show up regardless (as I do) and give it a chance. There's probably a bias of insight there that I and many like me have that gives us the ability to enjoy the material without too much harsh criticism. When i first started collecting it was mostly Spider-Man and Ghost Rider comics. Then I got into the big event series like Infinity War and Secret War because Spider-man was in it. Then because of that I got into learning more about the other characters from the big events. And I developed an appreciation for the whole of Marvel and not just certain characters. That doesn't mean I like EVERY character... but I'll still give the live action conversions a chance to see how they adapt from the source material. I find it interesting. But it's no different than someone who reads the books first and then goes and sees the film and then critiques what they adapted well and what they failed to adapt well.

Even Iron Fist is better than Secret Invasion

The show runner confirmed that they were still editing the series and trying to figure out what direction they should take when episode 1 was already released..and the finale was all Kevin feige a producer tryna be creative and he made that hilarious finale..and it’s probably the worst written MCU thing and all the allegories πŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ..not gonna quote anything cause Alex might read these but some of the conversations were ridiculous like they were written by a 15 yr old that just binged a bunch of spy movies

This show honestly gets too much hate. People just expect a big spectacle from Marvel these days, and when they don't get Avengers End Game 2.0 they're dissatisfied. The dialogue scenes throughout this show are wonderful, and very well acted. Even as someone who enjoyed the ride though, my only wish is that they would have given it 8-10 episodes instead of 6. That way, it had some more time to breath, answer any unanswered questions people had while watching, and overall just allow more time for some scenes to develop more than they can when they're confined to only six episodes. Or, at the very least all six episodes of the series should have been an hour long.

My man went on a tear about how bad the MCU shows were and then recommended the Defenders? πŸ€”πŸ˜‚

There is some excellent writing in this series. Some of my favorite recent MCU moments. Saber is the Shield's space ship Fury is on at the end of Far From Home, and coming down from at the beginning of this show. Talos is the skrull that we thought was Fury in Far From Home, along with his wife (Soren) who we thought was Hill. The greenish intro to the show was developed by AI. The director was told not to read the comics before doing the show.

That is what it is called in multiple countries...

He's enjoyed all the D+ shows to varying degrees, as did many others.

I'm not impress with MCU tv shows , we had a really good one in WandaVision, Loki is the only one with a season 2 coming up... Falcon and winter soldier was OK... What if = Meh... hawkeye and moon knight was good... Ms Marvel was a teenager show... she hulk was very bad and I'm not impress with the story line of secret invasion... Maybe Alex should finish the Defender series

Man called it "soccer", yikes. XD

Age didnt seem like a problem in far from home and it’s only been 2 yrs in the MCU between that and this.. I don’t want to spoil Alex incase he reads these but..nick fury never accomplished anything on his own he’s essentially a fraud.. the guy that showed up in iron man 1 and we thought he was so cool the guy Robert Redford hyped up as the greatest soldier turned spy ..never did any of that and Tony’s death scene is also partially ruined by this show

KINGxRED248

Well, he is old.

I’m probably gonna be the odd man out in this comment section but this show is the biggest character assassination in modern history ..iron man 1,2 avengers 1,2 winter soldier, agents of shield Fury was a strong leader who was respected by all and everyone relied on..now he’s just dumb and race driven and needs to be saved all the time…feel free to tell me how wrong I am and how I don’t understand the nuances of this series
