Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts (FULL MOVIE REACTION)

Hey guys!

This one was bitter sweet. It was realyl fun and enjoyable to watch and gave me the sensation of seeing old friends that you haven't seen in awhile, but it was also extremely difficult to watch because it made me miss the series and the movies!

I know that I have missed a lot of details watching the movies, so going back and watching them again will be enjoyable, but it just won't ever be the same.

The thing that made me really happy was the thought that I have not read any of the books! That thought really excited me because I know those things are packed with so much more detail than I could ever imagine!

Anyway, I am really happy with uploading these videos through Patreon! I think this makes it easier on everybody :) I hope you guys have had a good time watching these movies with me!

I have had the best time ever! You really can't imagine :)

Love you all so much,

Alex

Love this, but it would be so much better if they’d actually included JK Rowling instead of old interviews…but aside from that just seeing how close the actors are/were is amazing!

Stef

Hey Alex, just to let you know, that BBC version of David Copperfield that Columbus saw Dan Radcliffe in that caught his notice, it’s well worth the watch! Soooo many Harry Potter alumni in it and it’s an amazing story by Dickens 👌 Just to let you know man.

I'm new to your patreon. I did start my journey with your you tube channel because of Harry Potter. I'm 50 years old and I'm obsessed with it. These films got me thru so much. I was in alot of pain the past 5 years. First I lost my younger brother in 2018. Then in 2020 I found out I had cancer. HP got me thru. It immersed me in a different world where I didn't think about what I was going thru. You are the 1st person for whom I joined patreon. You are so great doing these videos. You have made a difference to me with your channel. Your very funny and engaging. I started because of HP, but stayed because of you. You keep saying you want to be a part of something, but I think you already are. Even my husband likes watching your channel with me. You make him laugh. Keep up the good work my friend. Your amazing!

Hope

We need to start a petition to cast Alex as Lupin in the new Harry Potter series.

Jack Krow

How would that work though? and yes i 100% agree. I NEEED to see his reaction to the books / audiobooks :D

Vegard

With regard to you watching the films for the second time, I'd absolutely love to see it because (and I'm not having a go at you for this, don't worry haha) you do have a bit of a tendency to talk over moments in the film where they're revealing or explaining things which come into play later, and then later you're confused because you missed it lol. And we're all human, none of us pick up on absolutely everything in the first watch through, especially when you're trying to focus on not just sitting there like a vegetable which I know is actually quite detracting from your experience watching the movie. I don't think anyone will complain about it or seriously think it's a "cash grab", it's a huge universe with many subtleties and complexities which can be easily missed, but if you're concerned, I guess you could always just release them here on Patreon :P And yeah, like Christian said above (I just read this so this is an edit, sorry), it might be better if you were to read the books or listen to the audio books so you have a much more fleshed out world of knowledge rather than the sometimes quite narrow view film and television forces you to see things through, and then rewatch the films afterwards. There's no rush :D

Clifton Kent

I would wait a year, and if possible even try to read the books(or listen to the audiobooks, preferably the Stephen Fry edition) THEN re-watch the films. There's definitely an audience for it, if done right.

re: for 51:53 timestamp oh man, you have no idea. the dramione (draco + hermione) fandom is BIG! besides the fantastic beasts series, you might be interested in tom felton's book 'beyond the wand'. lots of insight on what happened on the set of the hp series ;) it's available in audio format, narrated by tom himself. so maybe a reaction is possible?

Yvonne

I would SO rewatch them with you for sure.

Amy Silknitter

Oh, it's to remove JKR.

AdrianF

HBO Max *not* America version is completely different to yours.

AdrianF

Petition for Alex to audition for James Potter in the reboot series

QadenJames

You can listen to the audiobooks and react and I would watch and I would definitely watch you do a rewatch now that you have an idea

Hiei

Or listen to the audio I’d watch the reactions

Nicholas Speer

REAS THE BOOKS AND REACT

Nicholas Speer

YES! Do a rewatch! I'd totally watch it

Myranda

Yes to fantastic beasts!

Samantha

Alex you need to come to London and you can actually go to the set where they filmed it! Walking down the great hall is an incredible experiance!

TeamRocketTom

Alex I have always thought when I see you do your sponsers on youtube and you play two "you's" that you would be a fantastic actor! You should look into it, I really think you would be great. :)

TeamRocketTom

You have a bit of a bias here. It's not that Emma has gone "on and on about" it, it's just that it went pretty viral and news publications picked it up which in turned caused more people to talk or ask her about it. Emma kissed both Rupert and Daniel in Harry Potter, and she said the same thing about both men. "they were like brothers to me, so I did x and x" The thing is that the Emma and Daniel "half naked kiss scene" isn't.. uh, in "reality", but in a "vision" that Ron saw, so maybe that's why it isn't talked about much. Yes, they acted it out topless, silver body paint and all, but since it wasn't "real", it didn't get much attention from news.

Alex

Dunno, but even if you're right surely that was more uncomfortable? I would've been. Anyway, I've just found it curious is all.

AdrianF

Was she really naked thou? As far as I always understood it was that she had a strapless bra on and covered in silver painting.

SaniTheSerbianMuslim

Something that has always bugged me - and I don't know if anyone else has said it, or if you picked up on it as I've not watched your reaction yet - is that Emma has always gone on about how hard it was to kiss Rupert, since he felt like a brother or whatever, but she never mentions being naked with Radcliffe being a problem in the Horcrux scene.

AdrianF

Man, I’m impressed you made it through that without tearing up, goosebumps or no. And here I am a bawling mess after that ending section

Amy Lewis

In case you actually believed Dan Radcliffe when he said he couldn't dance, check this number he did on Broadway in "How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying":https://youtu.be/cNTeeHhpxBE

Tom Ekstrand

I'm gonna take a shot every time you said you weren't a harry potter fan

jace Z

You could react to your reaction 😂

Marquis keel

I would definitely rewatch it with you, so yes, please watch the Fantastic Beasts series! Thanks, Alex!😃🪄

Joyce Williams

if you can ever find a copy of it, you really need to see Robbie Coltraine(Hagrid) in "Nuns on the Run". Absolutely comedy gold.

james fewell

It is still heartbreaking to watch this, especially cause of people like Robbie Coltrane.. he was such a warmth soul and beautiful human being.

Nicole

The fantastic beasts movies🙏

Zaiden

I wasn't and I'm not a Harry Potter fan. I haven't touched the book series but I've seen each of the movies. I definitely can appreciate the movies quite a bit more now as an adult - but I'm just not a Harry Potter guy. My ex wife was a huge Harry Potter fan! lol, her second tattoo was Harry Potter related - I've got no idea what it was exactly as I just don't remember, but yeah, just not my thing. :P Great video though! I watched all of it despite not being a fan. :)

Logan Kerlee

For this video and for She-Hulk yesterday I just watched on the Patreon site on my PC. Previously I've had the Patreon app on my phone or tablet and the movie on my PC or on the TV. For "The Wolverine" on Friday I'll still try that.

Brian Stanaland

The three Fantastic Beasts movies are great.

Brian Stanaland

RIP to Robbie Coltrane who passed months after this came out :'( Hagrid will live forever ❤️

Julia

I watch the movie every fall again ,so if you watch I would love to war h with you the second time

Noelle

I followed along your HP journey with you on YT and decided to pull the trigger and become a diamond supporter last night! And look what shows up the next day!!!!

Andrew Nyberg

You might want to learn to read before replying. I made no comment at all about the choice of content, and have no problem with it at all. I was merely commenting on the new video FORMAT, having just watched yesterday's video. The point on legality is of course valid, but I wasn't going to mention it, that's completely up to Alex to make his own decisions.

Kev Martin

Considering the fact it is ILLEGAL to upload full movies and TV shows per copyright you'd be the biggest smooth brain on the planet to threaten to unsub just because he uploaded a documentary, go cry in the corner some more you big baby

jace Z

If the new video format is permanent, I guess thats me outta here. It's a terrible experience for me. I like watching the show/movie on a big screen, with the reactor as an addon, not vice versa. If I wanted the other way around, I'd just watch the Youtube cut.

Kev Martin

Yesss the books are so much more packed with detail!! Thanks for the content!

Megan Noor

You definitely gotta read the books or listen to the audiobooks they are fantastic
