2023-06-15 17:22:23 +0000 UTCI used to find my solace in addiction. Drugs, gambling, sex and drinking but since I stopped all addictions I've found a surprising calm in the grind. I don't hate it or love it, it just is what it is. I don't mean it is what it is in a bad way or a good way really, I think just having an idea in my mind of what I want and how to get there. That kinda hope keeps me way more level than every bad thing I did to cope before ever did. There really is some kind of pride in persevering and being stoic even when I haven't made it yet.

Nothing better than lighting up some cannabis, eating pizza rolls fresh out of the oven, and watching you react to my favorite shows and movies, especially the Marvel content. (That's my fave! Normally I jump right on your videos, but for some reason, I put this one off. I dunno why. But...lemme just say, the timing of me watching it was SO perfect. I've literally been sitting here for a good chunk of today being frustrated because I've been trying to figure out a way to boost my book sales--mainly because, while I love editing other people's books, I love writing more, and I want to cut back on editing and all the stress it can give me sometimes, but I don't make enough money with my books to offset that loss of editing income, so I can't. And I was sitting here being frustrated and upset over it and then I just randomly hit play on your video and now I feel a fair bit better about my situation. So thanks for that! Did you get your computer fixed? I hope all that worked out for you!

Either it pushes you to do something you probably already knew you needed to do. Or it puts you on a new and better path that you didn't see coming. I hope your struggle ends in a positive way and soon.

2023-06-09 22:54:32 +0000 UTCI remember near the end of the whole covid pandemic, I finally managed to get a job (I worked part time while in college but the place shut down due to covid so I was on unemployment for a while) and I remember the day I got my first paycheck, I got home, my PC wouldn't start. My SSD died. It was almost like my computer knew to wait till I had a paycheck before letting it die so I could get a new one. If it happened any earlier, I would have been out a PC for who knows how long. I was still pissed, I had to go out and buy something cheap, which thankfully has lasted over a year now. I know what it's like to just have your PC die on your like that, and it's not fun.

The amount of YouTubers that have their ENTIRE career relying on a single hard drive with no backups gives me hives. Seriously, it's not that hard or expensive to get a good setup that will survive if your computer goes out again or whatever. You can get an 8TB network-attached-storage (NAS) on Amazon for about $350, this is the one I use: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08V5L1X1C And then you can save your important files to it and then have it back up to the cloud for a second level of protection.
