Dissociative Identity Disorder (formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder) is what's going on. It's a trauma response created mental illness; I think that would be the easiest way to understand in the short term what's going on here. This show and Split are beautiful things to watch in my opinion to get a better understanding of it all.
