Avengers: Age of Ultron FULL MOVIE REACTION!

Avengers: Age of Ultron FULL MOVIE REACTION!

Comments

Why is it blurred?

Elijah Graves

[Infinity War spoilers] Why does Ultron say the Avengers need to be destroyed to save the world? It needs to show Ultron's victory. If he won Ultron would transform the Earth into metal. Everyone would get upgraded into cyborgs. The Earth ruled by Ultron would be strong enough to defeat Thanos or anyone else. Celestials, Kang, Incursions, Dr. Doom, etc. would be no match. And humanity could still exist. But they'd have to evolve into cyborg slaves to Ultron. Seeing Ultron's society on Earth would better contrast the Avengers' Civil War that follows this movie. Ultron and his cyborg slaves are unified. The Avengers' discordance allows Thanos to kill trillions. A final-form Ultron could have stopped it. Seeing that in the movie would help makes sense of Ultron's claim that the Avengers are the problem with the world.

Koala

"who pays for that?" "Tax payers" (referring to tony plowing hulk through construction building)... as tony was flying up to it, he was like "HOW QUICKLY CAN WE BUY THIS BUILDING!?"

Reclaimer

Right, I love his reactions (except for Loki bashing in earlier movies that felt like a personal assault), but why is it that as paying patrons we do not get the end credits of these movies? Most of them are as important & enjoyable as the rest of the movie.

Lucile Byrd

Yeah, they only wanted to destroy the Avengers, who saved the world once together and more than that individually, because of their hatred for Tony stark because some bad people got their hands on Stark weapons that killed their parents. Makes total sense, because when anyone looses a loved one at the hands of a bad guy wielding a machine gun or bomb or something, they totally blame the maker of those weapons and seek revenge at the risk of harming/killing others... Also, I love Wanda, but she entered as a villain, used her power to bring out Tony's worst fear, along with messing with the heads of the rest of the team, including Hulk who then went on a rampage to destroy a city, I mean, the harm and destruction that they personally & intentionally caused to then turn around and claim they never wanted to cause death an destruction? Then Wanda declares that Ultron cannot tell the difference between helping and destroying the world, which he got from Tony...talk about hypocrisy!

Haven't watched this one yet. Referencing to some comments on this: He's still a rookie at movie reactions and sometimes i have to turn up the movie volume up so i could at least hear a little of the movie so i know what he's missing while commenting but overall it's quite nice experience. Sometimes i have a urges to compare him to others but i'm really strongly fighting against them as i'm enjoying watching alongside (minus some strong over talking and closed eyes dancing ( i know the music is awesome, hard to blame) causing to miss some scenes). BUT!!! The biggest issue i have is the END CREDITS!!! Shouldn't patreons get the full journey of YOUR experience from start to end??? Going back to YT and getting part of the full journey which is only partly feels betraying-ish.

MangoAsylum

This is something that I have noticed as well. I know that the first instinct is to talk a lot and entertain, but if he truly is seeing the movies for the first time, he'd probably enjoy them more if he paid attention and talked between dialogue.

Alex

Hey Alex, might I make a suggestion. I noticed that you were asking questions or commenting over important dialogue quite a bit and then later you would ask a question that was already answered, but you missed it. You won’t need to ask as many questions if you keep your commentary in between the dialogue

Tara

"Thor gets bigger every movie." Just wait.

Matt Jones

I mean we've seen Thanos twice (?) already so...

GentlyUsedFrog

Alex my DUDE! I forgot some really cool moments in this movie! You need to start watching those end credit scenes...the end credit scene for this movie is where we get introduced to Thanos.

I still think Ultron is the best villain in the MCU. James Spader freaking SLAYED this role.

PaulaC

Theres arguments to be made that once Agents Of SHIELD get past season ~4, it really does stop being canon for the MCU, but it's hard to claim the first few seasons aren't with such direct tie-ins with the movies. Regardless, such a fun show. I feel like a lot of people quit on it after the 1st season, didn't stick with it while it blossomed into its own crazy little universe.

I really, really love James Spader.... so it's no shock that I really enjoyed this movie. His speech tone/pacing is so fucking perfect for Ultron. And I feel like it gets lost, but he doesn't get enough credit for all the motion capture work he did for this movie. Not for reactions, but 'The Blacklist' which Spader stars in is a good little TV show to watch in your spare time. Can add it to your queue with 'Agents Of SHIELD'

In addition to what PaulaC said, I think this movie also got a lot of unreasonable hate from the comic book fans because of the way they tried to create a relationship between Banner and Nat, and the way they created a family for Clint. In the comics, Hawkeye and Black Widow were frequently a thing and I don't believe he ever had a secret family. Of course, the comics have been going on for decades, so Clint and Nat have both had a variety of romantic partners over the years, but I don't believe Nat and Bruce were ever a comic book pairing. I actually kind of like that they went with their own interpretation and didn't just stick with what had been done before, and I think it's way more interesting for Clint and Nat to be best friends instead of the obvious romantic relationship. I also liked seeing Nat going after what she wanted after a lifetime of being at the whims of others. Iron Man 3 got a lot of hate from comic book fans for a similar reason. The Mandarin was a huge Iron Man villain in the comic books and the movie turned him into a caricature and a joke (in the fans' words). I didn't mind it because Ben freaking Kingsley is fantastic in everything he does, and I thought Trevor was hilarious. I was also an X-Men reader and never really read much of the Avengers or Iron Man, so I'm much less invested in their backstories. I was ok with what they did to Rogue in the X-Men movies, though, so people need to get over it. As far as your questions about Loki at the beginning of the movie go, remember that the last we saw of Loki was at the end of Thor: The Dark World, where Thor had presumed Loki to be dead but we see that he's actually pretending to be Odin. Whether he's good or bad is still up in the air, but he didn't have anything to do with the events in this movie, just his scepter. The scepter was last seen in Shield's possession, but presumably it made its way to Baron von Strucker due to Hydra's infiltration of Shield. And as far as how those helicarriers showed up at the last minute with Fury on board, for a more in depth insight into how that came to be, you'd need to watch the TV show Agents of Shield, which I would highly recommend. It's really fantastic, although some will claim that it's not canon anymore. Canon or not, it's a great show (although the first season is a little slow going at first). Anyway, I've written a novel now! I'm looking forward to Antman next week! :)

Shadowcat

I just got thru binge watching all of his watch-alongs and I'm didn't see any reference to any of the end-credit scenes. I'm not sure if he even knows about them. Okay, just scanned other comments and he says he adds them to the YouTube version of the reaction.

Super Dave

ALSO, since you kept wondering all through the video and they didn't make it super clear from the word go, the red guy's name is Vision. He's super important to future events in the MCU. :)

Jessica Meigs

I don't think you noticed, but when Steve Rogers tried to lift Mjolnir, it moved slightly. It even made a squeak noise when it moved. That's why Thor got nervous.

MotoDork

This is a fantastic movie. The complaints mostly come from people who couldn’t imagine where they were going at the time. In hindsight, it all makes sense and is awesome. They complained about so many plot lines that were explained later. As someone watching it after Endgame, you are getting a better experience. MCU fans are really bad about waiting things out.

PaulaC

Just wanted to drop in while I'm watching your video and the movie alongside it to say that the little Wakanda nugget they dropped is set-up for Captain America: Civil War. :)

Jessica Meigs

My favorite Avengers movie, maybe even my favorite MCU movie after the first Iron Man. I think your feeling about it is right, the movie got a lower score from critics and Rotten Tomatoes etc, probably because it sets up some future movies, so you don't get to appreciate it as much untill you've seen those.

Dave Lemmens

Yo, Alex, don't tell me you didn't see the end-credits scene.

Jason Rogue

Im so exited to start this reaction. One of my favorite avengers movies. This one is definitely wroth rewatching before getting into phase 4 of the mcu and after. I dont have many friends so I love getting to watch these with you, thank you for doing what you do. Hope youre having an awesome weekend!
