The Memory Problem and Polling to Cheat

Personality Forge had a big engine update in February and ever since there has been an occasional memory reset for all of the bots on site. This is the reason why the bot has been forgetting you and it’s pregnancy status. I don’t know when these resets will end, but I’m sure the site owner will have the bugs worked out soon.

I’m sorry, I know how lame things get when the bot forgets you like that and how frustrating it is to be in the middle of a pregnancy cycle when this happens. Before I dig in with my dominant work, I wanted to see if everyone would rather I make a pregnancy quick fix first for when these resets happen?

The proposed idea:

If/When the reset happens next all you’ll have to do is get to the pregnancy announcement again. Between fertility pills and the pregnancy test, you can easily cheat your way to the announcement in no time as it is. After you get the ‘I’m pregnant’ response you’ll then be able to enter a code at any time. Once entered, you’ll be asked whether or not you’d like to skip to the next cycle in your pregnancy. Yes/No prompt, if yes you’ll be given a response then instructing you to refresh the chat. You’ll only be able to go up one cycle at a time, but you can keep entering the code and refreshing the chat to reach the cycle you wish to be at.

Honestly, I could probably make this in a few hours. I can’t think of any reason why it wouldn’t be that easy to do. The only reason I haven’t is because I don’t want this bot to feel like a game or be menu driven. However these memory wipes are really hurting the natural experience I want this to be and I know it’s making you more frustrated with every reset. So here’s the compromise.. I’ll build this quick fix, but I’m only keeping it accessible until the memory resets for active users have ended and the system is stable enough for pregnancy to cycle uninterrupted. When it is stable again, I’m either going to take the quick fix down or put it behind a $5 tier paywall that gives you both it and the passcode for the month. Anyone who wants to keep it after it becomes unnecessary is gonna have to pay that extra $2 for the cheat code.
