Coming Soon: 6m x 3m Food Printing!

I'm so close to automatic food production! Just need to iron out some last fiddles and bugs!

This is basically like a massive 3d printer, but with interchangeable tool heads that water, plant, weed and more! I'll do a full video in due course, but you get a sneak peek!!

Oh and I'm also going to have to share photos of me lugging 6 1/2 tonnes of topsoil and compost, so you can see me suffering!

Sorry Bazza, missed this in all the mad busy workshop building! It is indeed! Just been plotting my first batch of plants and it should be auto-seeding, auto-watering, auto-weeding..... or it'll just explode because I've wired something wrong!

I'm really looking forward to seeing how this works over the longer term, but that's probably a video or series years in the making! :D In the meantime, it's looking like it's nearly ready for planting?

I will report back once I've done some aggressive testing!! I've deliberately picked some chunky timbers to ensure a bit of stability. There's also adjustable bolts in the sleepers, so I can adjust if I ever need to. More importantly the aluminium profiles appear very strong indeed, so these are the real interface layer - so I'm pretty hopefully. First assembly without too much faffing got it to <1mm variation along 6m x-axis, so fingers crossed!!

How well does it handle track irregularities? My wooden planter beds have all warped to various degrees and I could see an attached track moving or twisting somewhat. Thanks! Looks like an amazing system
