All those finishing touches.....

Just a quick update on what's keeping me busy!

You know when you think you've just about finished a project like this.... you're about halfway there! So many little finishing touches, peeling off the insulating foam, fitting the window handles and testing they all work correctly (all perfectly aligned thank goodness!)

But I've also managed to get the 'contemplation zone' set up (a sofa!), so I can ponder my bonkers ideas in a bit more comfort!

All those finishing touches..... All those finishing touches..... All those finishing touches..... All those finishing touches..... All those finishing touches..... All those finishing touches..... Oh I know John!!! I'm pondering things like walnut/oak worktops, so this would definitely clash with pine. But I definitely want that relaxed feel, so that's exactly my conundrum at the moment!! πŸ€”πŸ˜Š

Oh I know - I'm trying to work out the balance of 'naturals' - there's lovely greenery all around (argument for darker colours as it'll bring the outside into the room), the floor has a wood grain with a greyish hue, I'm also going to be putting around 400 tonnes of extra wood into the room (πŸ˜‰) with cabinets, worktops, drawers and units. So I'm trying to work out how to balance it all!!! Still this is the fun part!! πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

I think I'd stick with the natural wood - there is something being in that sort of environment that is a nice contrast to the modern world and makes for a good thinking space.

Katie, quick question: What’s it like to be flawless? I’ll take my answer off the air. Also, my two cents, don’t paint the wood. The warm glow is amazing and a nice counterpoint to all the modern tech you’ll have in there. Just one Yank’s opinion to influence your contemplation.

Those large windows really make a awesome light. Good choice. πŸŒ„

Excited to see the final product. Also you have the best diy outfits. Thank you for sharing!

Look great, I always hate cleaning up after expanding foam. It’s a great product but horrible cleanup. Again looking great.

Ken

Looks cracking good!

I’m a fan of natural wood over paint. Sometimes looking at the grain movement can be inspiring!

I wouldn't paint it - rejoice in the beauty of the grain! Looks marvellous by the way, excellent work. πŸ‘πŸ»

Yes, it's something I've been adamant about making sure I retain a bit of 'thinking' space, before I fill with rest with gadgets!! Oh, you're making me doubt the colour now - I keep flip-flopping on this, whether to have natural wood, stain the wood or paint it!!

Love the natural look! Something so soothing about being surrounded by natural wood! And I love the contemplative couch. Definitely going to have to have one in my next crafting room!
