😂😂 well I do want to first test how much heat all these devices give off as it'd be a waste to install heating if all the heated beds and silicon chips can do the work!! 😂

Oh I've been going back and forth on this between engineered hardwood or some really decent quality LVT. I 'think' I'm going with the latter (fully waterproof and less temperature susceptible) and tougher surface for it!

You're totally right Fred - they've agreed to upgrade my house to three phase specifically for this, and I was just sketching out all the plug sockets - LOADS is the short plan!

Oh I'm jealous if they've managed in two days!! I can't see how that's even possible for me with all the various dry times for paints/sealers and so on (let alone the snow, ice and rain!!). I'm onto the easy stuff now though - finishing touches!

I love that your answer to "how will you heat the room?" Is "frickin' laserbeams!" 🤣

That's amazing. My next door neighbour got something similar recently - after they'd done the concrete pad it was a two-day installation including mains wiring & roofing... I'm a bit jealous tbh.

I am really impressed with the progress on your shop. I did my shop as two bays of a 5-car garage and I know how much work was involved. Be sure that the electrical for lighting and powering your tools is adequate. Determine what you need and then add about 50% :)

Old Guy Fred

New shop looks amazing! what will you be using for the floor ?

Stanco

And filament driers! 🤣

Isn't your other outbuilding a sauna?

Heating - mainly 3d printers, lasers and soldering irons..... 😂😂

Yes, doing the final floor this week and then it's cabinet/work table time!

Insulation on roof and floor. Walls are 70mm timber, so going to leave for now and see how it goes (can add later if needed, but my other outbuilding annoys me more because it's too hot than too cold!!)

Hands on Katie

Looks great! Is the insulation going on the walls, floor, roof, or "yes"? :)

Bazza McSpleen

Looking good! Obviously some substantial progress has been made. What are you going to use for heating?
