A new camera!

You will have seen the first glimpse of this little guy in action in my previous video, but expect to see plenty more!

He's great as I can just film myself super easily by setting it to track me or another object!! He's much easier than setting up tripods and things, so I'm actually going to use him wherever possible outdoors for footage!

And of course I had to customise him a bit - I'm forming my own little film crew of robots! Speaking of which, I had a completely bonkers idea for a camera in my Home Office - Robot arms in the ceiling anyone??

A new camera! A new camera! A new camera! A new camera! A new camera! A new camera! A new camera! A new camera! A new camera! A new camera!

If your kids were a bit older it would make a great family project. I'm off to Mexico for two weeks so if I don't reply it's not that i'm ignoring you.

Ooh this is interesting John - I can't quite tell whether to build it myself or find a solution out there!! Christmas challenge for me!!

Welcome to the tribe LEX! One word of advice, be nice to Katie. She has a dungeon.

Depends how deep you want to go, but ceiling tracking for studio lights I think Manfrotto still do it) with pantographs have standard spigots that you can attach anything to.

I've gone down this rabbit hole. It can be done pretty well completely as a 3D printed unit. In fact I've printed some things just to get a feeling for size. Or you can buy the kit of metal parts and just 3D print the non-structural stuff. Don't buy the clone from AliExpress. They are junk and they pirated the open source hardware. Chris Anin sells the CNC machined metal parts and has an arrangement with the motor supplier to source a complete kit with all the motors, reduction drives, drivers. Like your stuff, the open source should not be abused. https://www.anninrobotics.com/ And no, mine isn't done yet although I have all the parts. Got distracted by someone named Katie and Herbus.

Of course!!

Glad to see you're a Bowie fan! 🙂

Yes strength and weight

Simon

Exactly what I was thinking!!! I need to research various brands/styles - think the key is one strong enough to have a smooth motion with the weight of a camera....!

If you are going robot arms put them on tracks so they can go up the walls and along the ceiling
