Sad News..... πŸ˜‰

Oh I'm super looking forward to modding the new David Mowie!
Now you folks get the full widescreen cinematic version of my video!!

Note my mum's academy award winning performance!! (she is super delighted about getting David Mowie as they've been struggling with their lawn a bit!)

You all know how awesome I think the Luba range are - such an amazing innovation! However, I do always say to never buy them full price - just wait for the off season sales!

I think I got one of the last Luba 2s in the UK and they're sold out just about everywhere except US/Canada now - super popular, but just in case you're US/Canada-based and want to get one (which you do!), then link below for the Black Friday Discount!

Oh and do let me know and I can send you any files for modding it yourself - we could have a 'mod off'!

I loved that programme!

Hands on Katie

I missed this video, it has a nice Red Dwarf vibe to it.

Ed

🀣🀣🀣 I'll tell her that!

Hands on Katie

Are you sure that’s your mum? I’m not seeing a family resemblance. Maybe you’re adopted?

john gallagher

It’s an awesome video nevertheless and we can hear the music in our heads anyway!

john gallagher

Oh, you can imagine I'm going to have a literal field day with the lawn printing ability next year!!! My ambition is to have a symbol visible from space permanently if I can work out when Google Maps refreshes their images!

Hands on Katie

I WISH I could use copyrighted music!! I could make the most awesome video!!

If you did get one, and still have issues with stray picnickers, you could mow a pattern saying "Get off my lawn!" into the grass...

The Mower Who Fell to Earth?

Safety of people, I can really vouch for this - even the Luba 1 nailed this totally, it's just got layers and layers of sensors, I actually have no idea how you could injure yourself. Eg proximity sensors mean it avoids obstacles, then bumper sensors too, then if you lift the device in any way or the wheels move up, it locks and stops the motor immediately. Then the blades are just little loose blades that fold back on impact (think of old Flymo blades), so I could strongly vouch on this side (the Luba 2 adds object recognition and more, so I'd say it'd take astonishing effort to even mildly injure yourself!). If you're meaning you might have thieving picnickers, then first point applies I guess. Although one extra point, you can naturally schedule for any time day or night, so you could pick a suitable hour to avoid this. But worst case, I'd recommend what I often do - sit with a glass of bubbly in the sun and watch as your loyal worker mows the whole plot, then take the credit for the beautiful stripes and lawn patterns from all your neighbours and visitors.... 🀭🀣

Thanks for that reply. For safety even though the videos show it avoiding obstacles I think I'd still prefer to at least have a fence around the perimeter just to avoid interaction with people. We've even had people having picnics on our grass. It looks like it might be a public park. I so want one though.

And I'll need to do a video where I demo it by smashing the side window by mistake.... 🀣

Hands on Katie

It's got 4G security tracking and some also just add airtags under the housing. So basically if someone did pinch it, you'd know where it was and it'd be registered to your account. It's also got a camera you can view through your phone, so I haven't set it up yet, but you might even be able to trigger recording too!

Hands on Katie

I've always worried about how easy it would be for someone to kidnap (lawn nap?) one of these. Our 7/8th acre isn't fenced and has roads on two sides (Pi shaped lot (no raspberries anymore)). Someone could just stop and hit the ESTOP button and cart it away?

Love to see a CyberLuba - just make it too big for the garden 🀣

Martyn Jones

I'm thinking of a CyberLuba design already!

E-Lawn Musk is a good one!

Bazza McSpleen

You are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too young to remember the books / movie surely? ;-) Must have been dragged up proper like I was! :-)

Richard Payne

He was a hero, but perhaps just for one day...... E-Lawn Musk is genius!!!! I love that!

Hands on Katie

Shame about David Mowie. He was a Hero(s), especially Under Pressure but it’s time for some Changes. The new one looks very high tech, welcome to E-Lawn Musk! πŸ€“

Martyn Jones

That's a remarkable tough lawn mower

Simon

It's an optional extra, but I don't bother, if you look closely you'll see there's some light charring around the front bumpers, but other than that, he seems fine....

Hands on Katie

The heat shielding must add to the cost

Simon

It's relatively cheap, it's more the fines for atmospheric disturbance, noise and disposal of radioactive ores that really ramp up...

Hands on Katie

Glad you enjoyed, I had a laugh making it too!!

Hands on Katie

Oooh I haven't thought of a HAL-themed device - that's a good one!!

Hands on Katie

Lithobraking FTW! :D Awesome video, the special effects are fantastic! Continuing with the space theme, you could call it "Heuristically Autonomous Lawnmower" (or HAL) 9001? Although I'd start to worry when it denies you entry to the garage...

Bazza McSpleen

Awesome movie! (is there no end to your skills?) Gave me a much needed giggle or two! πŸ™‚πŸ™‚ I'm rubbish at naming things so no suggestions from me.

Richard Payne

How much of the price is the unusual delivery method? Great video all round

Simon
