2024-08-07 19:31:21 +0000 UTCIt was this performance that sparked my McFly obsession - I was vaguely aware of their existence but I'd never listened to them. This prompted me to find out more about them and one of the videos that made me look at more was the RAH version of Not Alone where Tom says he's worried about his voice not holding up and Danny watches him so intently and encouragingly that I was completely sold on them. John on the edge of seat with his mouth slightly open in this reaction reminded me of me when I first saw it.

2024-08-06 23:15:33 +0000 UTCIt is such a special song to me - as well as my husband being in the RAF I am named after a Battle of Britain pilot who was killed in action and I have left the lyrics to this song on his grave. I listened to it so many times to get the lyrics down. I just need to figure out a more permanent way as my first effort fade to blank.

2024-08-05 21:39:18 +0000 UTCThey actually performed it twice - the first time was at the concert for the RAFs 100th birthday and then this a few months later at the remembrance concert. There is audio of the first performance but I've not been able to find video of it. This is where my McFly obsession began. My husband is in the RAF and I was playing my usual game of spot his colleagues when this literally took my breath away.

2024-08-05 21:38:20 +0000 UTCtom wrote this song specifically for this occasion.. it was a celebration of 100 years of the RAF (royal air force) and when he wrote it he asked danny to sing it with him. this is the one and only time it's been performed, and there isn't a recorded version of this either .. it's such a good song though!
