It was a very public relationship and the whole “jet setting Bonny & Clyde” references that they vacationed all over the place and the pictures were everywhere. Ultimately it was short lived and she broke his heart, there was a really sad interview he gave to GQ that touched on it. They are on good terms though.

The reason so many people were and still are upset is that Reputation sold more copies than all the albums nominated for album of the year combined and still wasn't nominated for the category. There was a lot of bad press about Taylor at the time and voters seemed to let that matter more than the actual quality of the music.

She is so very grounded and strong bcus of it, many people cannot come back from that. Her solid family growing up is what grounds her. Her parents are the absolute BEST!!

As much as I love Taylor, she was initially one of the most awkward live performers/dancers I have ever seen and I used to cringe to watch her live. (Her music video for Shake It Off showcases her awkward dancing skills. 🤣) I really admire how hard she worked at it over the years and I never could have imagined how much she would improve from where she started. The Reputation tour is the first time I really considered her to be a good dancer and she has continued to improved from there! Now I absolutely love seeing her dance and perform live. Her vocals have also improved so much over the years. She has worked so hard to get where she is and I really admire her for it!!!

2024-06-04 17:03:13 +0000 UTCNot Ready For It. UM, ARE WE ALL GOING TO IGNORE THE FACT THAT ‘LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO’ WAS MISSING FROM THIS REACTION?!?! I know, John, you watched it on The Eras Tour, but STILL!!! (I did see 1 comment mention this) This compilation of lyric videos was not in the order of the album. Weird. If you truly want the flow of the album, be sure to check any playlists you find against the actual album track listing (and be sure all of the songs are there) This is just a guess, but the Reputation tour is the first one I remember where she danced a lot. Red and 1989 had some choreo, maybe, but I feel like those had more blocking than dancing. I could be wrong. The other artist on End Game is Future. Reputation was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the Grammys but lost to Sweetener by Ariana Grande. It was not nominated for Album of the Year. It broke my heart when she said “I guess I’ll have to make a better album” in the Miss Americana documentary, because this album is one of her best. That being said, she has won Album of the Year 4 times, has won 14 Grammys overall and has been nominated 52 times. Getaway Car was autobiographical. The song is the story of her exit of a relationship using romance with someone else, knowing the new relationship will also end briefly because its purpose was only to "get away" from the first one. The new relationship is the “getaway car”. Call It What You Want To – the backing vocal was Jack Antonoff, not the guy she was singing about. New Year’s Day was not in Long Pond Studio Sessions – That was only the album Folklore. Yes, her B-sides are phenomenal. Her hits are hits for a reason, but her non-singles are *chef’s kiss*. Looking forward to the reactions to the music videos and concert. The music videos from this album are Look What You Made Me Do, End Game & Delicate. You already did ….Ready for It? If you don’t have it lined up, I’d recommend Midnights or 1989 (Taylor’s Version) for your Taylor Swift next album reaction.

Two weeks ago I saw Taylor in Stockholm at her ERAS Tour. I wish you had been there too. I prefer live performance I think it shows the artist's skill so much more. Taylor sang for 3 1/2 hours for us, and clothes changing only took two minutes. It was magical, we cheered and clapped our hands after each song. I will post a video about it when it is finished. 2024-06-04 08:34:12 +0000 UTCSo many people are recommending Rep tour, and I agree (though if possible, please try and obtain a direct download of the film because the YouTube clips of each song are edited in a very choppy way that is meant to circumvent copyright, and just comes across as very disjointed lol. I have a link to one of these if you would like me to message it to you). But I also wanna recommend her Grammy Pro talk from 2014 about the 1989 album! It's a great bit of backstory and insight to the creation of that album and how its conception was born out of self-reflection and a desire to "better" herself in the eyes of the industry, which is something you can really see reflected in future mindsets, like her making Rep as a response to her cancellation, and her approach to Lover being "I need to make a better album" because Rep got little to no Grammy nomination. 2024-06-04 07:11:13 +0000 UTCActually, the tracking of flight routes in real time is something you're supposed to be able to do for any commercial or publicly registered plane, including privately owned planes like Taylor's, or even planes carrying government officials. They're all in a public database of information that is specifically released in order to maintain air traffic safety, because the potential hazards of an unmonitored aircraft traveling in populated airspace--like she often needs to do for work--are immense. Mid-air collisions can happen and have happened, which is the whole reason that data is made public to begin with. In the case of an accident like that, its easier to find and help survivors if you know where the planes went down. And flight route data being made public is not only helpful for those medical professionals, but also for all other pilots and air traffic management around the world to make sure that a situation like that doesn't even happen to begin with. With how often Taylor seems to need to travel, if information about her plane's route is kept secret, it greatly increases the risk of a seriously egregious accident occurring. And nobody wants that. Apart from that, I agree with all of this. It's absolutely the safest and most efficient way for her to travel. Yes, it's not the most "environmentally conscious" thing, but she is far from the only celebrity or even semi-notable/rich person to use private jets. Like, the Las Vegas airport literally ran out of reserved places to park any more private jets for elite Superbowl attendees, so she had to land in LA and drive to Vegas in order to watch the game this year. That in and of itself says a lot about how common that use of travel is. The environmental issues are worth having conversations about, but so often people only bring it up as an attempt to morally justify their hatred of Taylor, rather than as a means of genuine environmental concern.

It caused a cancelation wave on social media that drove Taylor into seclusion for most of a year. She wrote Reputation during that time in response. She was also in a new relationship and the album is really filled with love songs in disguise.

Many people turned on her and she left the states and went to London (I think). There she met Joe and they fell in love. They were together for 6 years. This Is WhyWe Can’t Have Nice Things is aimed at Kayne. She had forgiven him for interrupting her speech at the VMA’s in 2009. Also wrote Look What You Made Me Do and premiered it at the VMA’s.

She literally couldn’t go to her friend’s wedding without a crowd assembling to yell her name! And it’s not like she can go out and say that, people are gonna eat her alive for claiming to be too famous lol… And the tracking her routes in real time is so dangerous for her and all the people around her too - I would never want to be in the same plane as Taylor and it being public knowledge! That’s a disaster waiting to happen - and to think that’s she’s nowhere near the top ten of emissions, yet you don’t hear that hate for the people who are… wonder why… About the recommendations: if you wanna learn a bit more about her character evolution after Miss Americana, you should watch her Artist of the decade speech, and her Doctorate speech at NYU! Both extremely captivating and inspiring!

2024-06-03 19:44:52 +0000 UTCThis album came about after the Kim and Kanye phone call and she’d been “cancelled.” Taylor really believed her career was over and she disappeared from the public eye for a year and began a new relationship that, yes, helped to start her healing process from that event. Reputation essentially goes from dark to light. During the time before she disappeared she’d also gone through a breakup from one public relationship into a rebound relationship (Getaway Car). The album is covering pretty much all of these topics in one way or another. Reputation quickly became an album for the fans that stuck by her, as did the reputation tour - which broke so many records. It was a celebration of still being there and seeing that she was still very much loved. In promoting the album she wiped her social media and posted a snake on instagram (Kim had called her a snake, so the rest of the world did too) without any context. Taylor didn’t do a single interview in keeping with the album tagline: “There will be no further explanation, there will only be reputation.” And the sound was made to feel more trap/hip hop because of Kanye. You should check out the poems she wrote with this album 😁🖤

So their interview after is also really good to watch for perspective (and to rebound from the feels, honestly). This album was so good, definitely her stepping further into the pop domination LOL. REP tour is a must! I was indeed not ready for it 😆

Would love the rep tour. If someone had the link here because it got removed from netflix in december last year. Also new years day is one of my favourites, it is a beautiful album closer. Not ready for it 😉 I think do the other music videos for this album too. Endgame and Look what you made me do. I’d love that!

So anything she does on stage has a ton of time and effort put behind it to get it right. I'd say Red is when she first started doing choreo (2012-13).
