Southlands Lore: The Unseen Pyramid
Added 2017-08-25 17:26:37 +0000 UTCAn extra number on a map leads to an extra bit of Southlands lore for Warlock patrons today!
If you look over the map of Per-Bastet you will see that it has 34 numbered locations, but the legend only names 33 of them. The 34th location is a small pyramid located in the Perfume District on a peninsula.
We asked Richard Pett to explain himself, and he provided this additional location for the city of Per-Bastet. (If there are no undead mummies here and tortured souls here, something has gone horribly wrong.)

34. The Unseen Pyramid/Pyramid of Dreams. This inscrutable structure occupies a single space and yet has many secrets. From all sides but the west, it is made of glassy obsidian and known as the Pyramid of Dreams-- a mysterious place said to induce vivid prophetic dreams or terrible nightmares in all those who visit. The western-facing side of this pyramid, however, is made of traditional sandstone, and is a fully functional mortuary known as the Unseen Pyramid.
In the Unseen Pyramid's chambers, embalmers experiment on the remains of citizens who wished to be mummified but lacked the funds for the proper process. Some claim that, deep within the Unseen Pyramid's bowels, priests in the Choir of a Thousand Endless Souls collect the complete lives of embalmed corpses piece by piece and minute by minute, until every moment has been relived and absorbed by the keepers for some unknown purpose.
Other better-informed, less-ignorant folk regard this ridiculous story as simple superstition about the noble funerary arts performed within.

That's a very good question. Probably only DriveThru knows why? It's a poster, so... nothing "Electronic" about it.
2017-08-26 23:37:09 +0000 UTCHow come DriveThruRPG lists the map as a 9.93MB "Original Electronic" file, but it's actually a printed poster? I was about to buy it a second time, since I couldn't download it...
