I was also among the spectators at the game. That day, when I learned she was the closing act, I felt a bit worried. In Hong Kong, people generally rush to leave right after the game, and she wouldn't perform until after the awards ceremony. Such arrangements require a performer strong enough to hold the audience's attention to prevent them from leaving. As the game was drawing to a close, and soccer star Messi hadn’t yet entered the field, the crowd started booing loudly and swearing filled the air; even Beckham couldn’t escape being booed so loudly that it was impossible to hear what he was saying, and some people left in anger. With such an atmosphere, I was really worried for her performance. Finally, when it was announced that it was her turn to perform, there initially wasn’t much applause. However, as she made her way to midfield, the applause grew. Most importantly, her singing truly captivated the audience, calming everyone down to listen to her song. Midway through, everyone cheered and applauded her singing. Listening to her perform live was truly a treat. The only slight disappointment was that I initially thought she would sing the Spanish version of 'The Sky,' but now I'll just have to look forward to another time.

I didn't know about this artist before so thanks for the introduction! Not sure if you're already familiar with Mary Chapin Carpenter but since you've mentioned your interest in TaySway's storytelling, you might enjoy it...definitely more of a country/folk vibe than Taylor, but she's one of my favorites.

I think it is you who first introduced John to G.E.M. and I'm really glad you did so because that first reaction of The Sky is how I found John. 😆 As for G.E.M., I mean I did listened to her music before but knew nothing about her. Just starting to actually get to know more since last year end and I realize there is so much more about her that is beyond music. She always spread hope and positivity, even after all the downs and darkness she been through.

Gloria is an insanely talented artist and an equally incredible human being. She's not the best at anything she does, although one could argue her vocal talents could rank right up with the greatest, but she is one of the most talented people as a whole that I can think of right now..

2024-05-25 23:59:50 +0000 UTCThe I AM GLORIA world tour concert is her first after leaving the company, and no, at least for those until now, the concerts are of songs from before leaving the company and also some more newer from her albums City Zoo and Revelation. And yes, that would be David Beckham, I think he is the president of the football club. I feel like G.E.M. is genuine but also fun to be around. It is very fun to see her interacting with her fans on TikTok live stream after the concerts. I can translate some and send to you and you'll see what I mean ;)
