They were sent to Earth to protect and preserve life...basically us. They each have a superpower. These powers were living within The Tree of Life on their planet. The Tree of Life and these powers are what keeps the Universe in balance, preserving life. The evils of the Universe, The Red Force (like the Dark Force) came and killed The Tree of Life which exposed the roots/powers. The Red Force want to covet these powers to destroy life....the legends/powers fled The Red Force and separated, hiding on different planets. MAMA, or the mother of the Universe, sends them to reunite on this planet Earth...seeing all the turmoil and destruction, Exo are to protect life. They come to Earth and disguise themselves as humans. When angered they can turn into wolves. They fight the Red Force constantly, as the Red Force is in charge of the destruction on Earth, and also try to influence Exo with bad temptations that humans may entertain...in hopes of losing their bearings where the Red Force can take their powers...... They've downplayed the concept tremendously in the last few years, as they've grown up.... Because Exo members are so busy, they don't focus on concept anymore. But it's still there...for those crazy people who try to theorize the lore...I gave that up in 2015. But powers - Chanyeol - fire, heat Xiumin (Shoo-min) ice, frost Baekhyun - light Chen - thunder/lightning Sehun - wind Suho - (leader) water, rain D.O. - earth, force, strength Kai - teleportation Lay - healing Seriously John, this is the best Exo concert in the TokyoDome. Their second year there.
