So much fun to see you listen to this and talk about it! I like it when you “ramble” haha. My favorite is Et cetera for nostalgic reasons but Yokubou ni michita seinendan is such a treasure too. Yononaka Shredder is what you should watch next, it’s a concert compilation DVD from 2008 featuring songs from this album and earlier ones. A lot of fun to watch! Ryota looks terrified, it’s precious. I also wanted to mention that I think you should check out the B-side tracks from their singles as you go, hidden treasures there. They put a lot of B-sides for their older singles. One that is a fan favorite is Karasu from the Et cetera single. They performed it in concerts back in the day, also brought it back for the Orchestra Tour. Also, remember how they performed the first rap verse and chorus of Yume Yume in the Luxury Disease 2023 Tour concert? Such a throwback! They also did Naihi Shinsho acoustic in the Ambitions Dome Tour. They started bringing in external songwriters from the 35xxxv album and onwards. After that it’s mostly Taka in collab with other songwriters and producers. The OOR fandom is divided on this matter but I personally appreciate both their new and old style of music.

I really enjoyed listening through their debut album with you! My favorite songs from this album are Kemuri and Yokubo Ni Michita Seinendan. Yokubo Ni Michita Seinendan is about Taka's past when he was in a boy group before joining One Ok Rock. Because Taka was still very young and had a special/unique background (having famous parents) he had some bad experiences back then and had to eventually quit the group. This part of the lyrics is referring to that time, "I once tried opening the curtains but they were too heavy. With pressure, unpleasantness, and wanting success, I was just a lowlife. And then when I came to myself I was all alone in a pitch dark room, thinking it's over, I cant go back, I stopped even moving forward" But then he found true friends in One Ok Rock and goes "But I'm not alone, I'm not alone. We're not, we're not, we're not alone. We have in our hands something money can't buy" The whole lyrics of this song make me feel his tough times when he was down and how strong he has become because he now has what he needed, best friends with the same goal and determination. I get emotional listening to this song every time. Also, thank you for doing a reaction on the Naihishinsho MV and sharing it on Youtube! Seeing you smiling for the whole time watching young One Ok Rock was really fun. It is a different experience from watching reactions on recent videos. Btw, besides Naihishinsho, Yume Yume, Et Cetera and Keep It Real (pre-debut album) have music videos as well, and you can find them on Facebook. As for concert videos for the 1st album, Yononaka Shredder covers 9 songs from the album and some others from B side songs of CD Singles. So, maybe you can react to some or all of the three MVs on Youtube and Yononaka Shredder DVD on Patreon? I'd love to see that :) For the 2nd album "Beam Of Light", there is a short concert video (total of 7 songs for 32mins) and 4 songs in the video are from the Beam Of Light album. It was a bonus DVD for the 3rd album, and you can search it on Facebook by "BEAM OF LIGHT Live Tour Shibuya-Ax". I can't wait to see more One Ok Rock contents :)

Forgot to mention that there is a DVD connected to this album and it was called Yononaka Shredder live at Shibuya Quattro. There are some different songs from the album but I really love Keep It Real from the album.

I loved hearing what you thought about the songs in Zeitakubyo. I especially wanted to know what you thought of Lujo because I think it is the song that most people don't like. I personally like it because it is so different. it is neat that you are looking at the lyrics because I think Taka writes the most beautiful lyrics but when they are all in Japanese most people would not know the meaning of the song, me included. They have performed some of these songs in different arrangements like Naihi Shinsho in an acoustic version. Can't wait to see what you think of Beam of Light. They did have a concert but I have only seen one song performed and the quality was not very good.

Love your journey with this dude. Excited for you to see it all the way through! Niche Syndrome will change your life.

It was awesome to hear your thoughts on their musical development! Also you have heard track 1, the acoustic version, from the 2018 ambitions concert! If we are moving chronologically, the next album Beam of Light likely won't any lives of it available. It's a shorter album and Taka is kinda known for hating it haha. One thing to note is that beginning with the album after that (Kanjou Effect), there are hidden tracks at the end of their albums. These are not on Spotify but folks have uploaded them to YouTube. They're just a fun lil bonus I'd recommend checking out!
