I Plan to have All these album reactions recorded before I go to Hong Kong if possible!

Comments

Happy Holidays❣️Thanks for all your suggestions — my husband & i are headed out-of-town until 2nd week in January to visit my Mom at her retirement home & other assorted family & friends. I probably won’t get to Dimash until end of Jan. or more likely February.😊

Ayda Lucero Fleck

Thank you. I'll check those out. I'll have to learn about how to do a digital download. Still have a CD player in my car I wanted to play it on.

Rose Lipscomb

You can buy it (digital version) on iTunes and Amazon. You can listen to it on Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, Qobuz, Deezer and more.

TuttaSB

I've never seen any mentions of the Igor album being released as a physical album, but it's available on iTunes, Amazon and most music streaming platforms (I listen to it on Spotify every day). ID is Dimash's only solo studio album, relesed both digital and as a CD. Before ID a Bastau Live album was released, it's not available on Spotify unfortunately but is available on Apple Music. Some of the early releases on Dimash's music profiles are pretty bad quality (it's super frustrating!) like the EP released early 2019 with SOS, Mahabbat Ber Magan and more, it's basically rip offs of his Singer and New Wave performances. But I'm optimistic that we'll get a new album from him soon, in 2021 he promised us a Kazakh album in about 6 months time, and in China not so long ago he told the Dears new album soon so I'm hopeful.

TuttaSB

I forgot to mention that he recorded both a Chinese and a Japanese version of this song. This one is the Japanese version. The name of the Chinese version is Autumn Strong, and it has an introduction that tells the story behind the song. You will see from that why it is recorded in both languages. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FXQ58U-Eddg&t=69s

Rose Lipscomb

Almost all of Dimash's songs have a message. He sings folk songs of Kazakhstan to expose fans to the history and culture of his country. Most of those are stories that have meaning. His other songs are uplifting messages of be yourself, do your best, and believe in yourself. Some tell touching stories of real people and events. He is very anti-war and he encourages peace for all mankind. Because he has fans around the world, he has recorded in 15 different languages, so try to find versions that have captions. My favorite is Ikanaide, the Tokyo Jazz Festival. It doesn't portray his range, but I just melt at some of the transitions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mM-bp5PB34 I just watched John's last reaction to BTS, and I loved it. I'll definitely be paying more attention to them. I hope we can continue to chat.

Rose Lipscomb

My take for BTS : the first studio album is Dark and Wild (2014). But you should start with their first ever projects from 2013 : 2 Cool 4 Skool (official debut) and O!RUL8,2? (first mini album)

Ly ID

Does anyone know where to get Dimash's album ID or his album made with Igor? I know the US government has made it impossible to buy from Russia, but it seems some enterprising distributor in some other country would buy a bunch of them and sell them.

Rose Lipscomb

I have an album named S.O.S D'un Terrien. Is this not an official album?

Rose Lipscomb

He mentioned that he was working on recording an album while he was in China in September this year (I think it was at airport meeting). But we all know that his “soon” means an undefined period... But I still have hope for at least his album of Kazakh songs, or any other..

Iryna Savenkova

so we're going to do each artist independent from one another on their own separate journeys, just like where did they all start and how did they all get to where they are now :) not connected just the journey of each.

John Reaves

Maybe I don’t quite get it but would do it in chronological order. Start with the artist that charted first and as you explore them pull the others in along the way, Kind of a time line comparison of all the artists?

Jamie M

Dimash's first album is ID and produced in 2019. But I agree with Rose Lipscomb, his appearance on Singer in 2017 truly marked the start of his career. Before that, Dimash mainly did competitions and some appearances on television programs in his country.

Lizou007

I’ve heard about Dimash & his incredible voice for a couple of years—definitely on my list to check out, esp. if he has songs with a message!

Ayda Lucero Fleck

Hi Ayda, Same here for me except in my case, it was Dimash. I've expanded a bit lately to include BTS. For a while after discovering Dimash, I didn't want to listen to anyone else. If you haven't tried him, and you like songs with a message, I think you'll like him, as most of his have one. Additionally, he has an amazing voice and is a wonderful human being.

Rose Lipscomb

That's a really nice thought DEAR since he doesn't really do albums. No reason to since he isn't on contract to a record label.

Dena Currie

I think starting with BTS first official album & go thru all the official korean albums then do Japanese. You can always check out their unofficial songs from soundcloud later on or sprinkle them around when ever you feel like reacting to them. Boracity also has a great album guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEM5rRjq7kc&t=1712s she does a great job & I think it's really cool she made it cuz I've been seeing a lot of new army including reactors that feel a little overwhelmed finding out how huge their discography is so having something that lists them helps. I'm new here but I just wanted to say thank you for being so genuine, you've dived so much into their music already. I'm always cautious and hesitant to watch new reactors to BTS on youtube cuz my trust has been broken a lot but I'm glad I came across your channel. I've recently been a bit disappointed in a reactor that I've been following for almost 5yrs now, when I started watching them they had an ult group but BTS was their second fav group. I had never felt any type of way before to people that stan multiple groups I just personally haven't had that deep connection to anyone but BTS even if I like other's songs here & there. But I started noticing changes some time around Festa 2022. They went from their 2nd fav group to their 3rd then 4th and now I don't even think they consider them in their top 5. And after years of following them on soical media it's around that time I noticed they stopped mentioning them in posts or liking bts posts when previously they would very regularly & always made happy bday posts for the members but that stopped completely. On the rare occasion they do mention them it's to talk about controversy, scandal, rumor stuff even if they are defending bts it doesn't sit right with me and that their info usually comes from people from other fandoms private messaging them about it, many times it's been misleading info so their sources seem pretty sketch. I won't name any names cuz I keep hoping I'm wrong and I'm just being paranoid or something. So for now I'm just watching & waiting to see if I want to continue following them or not. Anyways, thank you for being real. I'm really enjoying watching your Bon Voyage reactions can't wait for 4th season & In the Soop. I've also really enjoyed watching your Breaking The Stereotype podcasts it's been really cool seeing the discussions and topics that need to be talked about more. We army know how diverse we are but I still think it's important to give a voice to male army, older army, & different walks of life in our fandom. Also the prejudice & discrimination our guys face along with our own preconceived notions before falling down the rabbit hole.

roguechevelle

PLEASE start with BTS. I think there are some pre-debut performances. I’m not an expert on their discography (incl Soundplay releases), but now that they’re all in the military I want to learn & explore their musical/other development over the yrs instead of my scatter-shot approach. I just turned 71yo & learned of BTS in Nov.2017. I was attracted 1st to their messages/subjects in their lyrics, their super-underdog experiences, then the dances & live performances. BTS revived my interest in music (I used to listen 24/7 in the 1970s - 2000s) and expanded my exposure to new genres.

Ayda Lucero Fleck

Babymetal first solo concert was at Rockmaykan, Meguro-Tokio, 2012-7-21, with 150 people. I find this NHK Music Special on 2016-4-4. They perform live and every few song they speak about the early year with footage of they first and early show. If you wont to check out, this is the link https://www.bilibili.tv/en/video/2044248547?bstar_from=bstar-web.homepage.recommend.all. After 3 month they permorm at Shibuya O-East with 1000 people - there's a DVD of this concert called Legend I, considered they very first complete concert https://www.bilibili.tv/en/video/2044479807?bstar_from=bstar-web.homepage.recommend.all.

Giulio Colzani

I think that in Dimash's case, his appearances on Singer should be considered as an album.

Rose Lipscomb

2 cool 4 skool is a mini album before dark and wild. There is another as well, I’ll have to look that up!

Kalleen

1000% agree!! Great place to start!!

Kalleen

Dimash’s first, and only, solo album is called “ID.” He did release an album after that with Igor Krutoy, but I don’t think it’s widely available because of Russia’s attack on Ukraine. At least I haven’t been able to buy it. I believe his first concert was “Bastau.” I’m sure other Dears will correct me on all of this if I’m wrong!

Elizabeth Coughlin

Mcflys first Album “Room on the 3rd floor” came out 2004! i was 14! my buddy had the cd and i listened to it was hooked! you’ve heard quite a few of the songs already from the album but they sound a lot different these days because naturally the boys are better musicians and vocalists

lee reynolds

Besides ID, he has a live album: BASTAU Live 2018 And an album with Igor Krutoy, simply titled:Dimash Qudaibergen & Igor Krutoy

Akiko-choypella

This! I would definitely go with this John- their first 3 albums were all mini albums but have some big hits in them (excuse the pun) I don't think you should start eith dark &wild just bc it's longer - just like I'd still class face or layover as albums even though they're technically ep's

Katie

McFly order is: Room on the 3rd Floor (2004) Wonderland (2005) Motion in the Ocean (2006) Radio:ACTIVE (2008) Above The Noise (2010) Memory Lane [This is a best of album but has a few demos and a couple unreleased tracks] (2012) Anthology [Live album from a tour where they done every song in their catalogue over 3 nights] (2015) The Lost Songs [Full album of unreleased unfinished tracks- RED is on this album] (2019) Young Dumb Thrills (2020) Power to Play (2023)

Ellie Renwick

For ONE OK ROCK, starting with their first debut album Zeitakubyo is a good idea but I personally would love to see you react to a pre-debut song called Keep It Real, so I like the idea of reacting to the two pre-debut EPs as well :) Either way, it's gonna be fun! Let me know if you need help with finding English lyric videos.

Green

He does have his first music video. He was a teen. It is interesting to see how different it is from his when he became established My Beauty https://youtu.be/fBCGLdNkLNM?si=lG5V5hIx8yl96YYY Dimash has a wonderful documentary series on his channel. If you decide to do those.

Maykacha

For Babymetal - 4 studio albums in chronological order: 1). BABYMETAL (2014) 2). Metal Resistance (2016) 3). Metal Galaxy (2019) 4). The Other One (2023) They have earlier stuff, but as part of the idol group Sakura Gakuin. That’s worth a look if you choose to dive deeper into the fox hole. Also, after you do the guide, their beginnings and SG will make more sense as well. Doki Doki morning was the first song by Su, Yui, and Moa as the “Heavy Music Club”, part of SG, originally recorded and live debuted in 2010. iine! was there 2nd song, both part of the first album. ———— **Notes on songs not included in their albums. Covers: Kimi to Anime ga Mitai (2012 - joint single with original artist, Kiba of Akiba) Covers (Live Only): White Love (2012 - Legend “D” Concert): Su-metal solo special for her 15th birthday. Chokotto Love (2013 - Legend 1999 Concert): Yuimetal solo special for her 14th birthday. Love Machine (2013 - Legend 1999 Concert): Moametal solo special for her 14th birthday. Tamashii No Rufrain (2013 - Legend 1997 Concert): Su-metal solo special for her 16th birthday. Painkiller & Breaking the Law abridged (by Judas Priest): -2016: With Rob Halford at the APMAs. -2017: With Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers on drums. ———— For 3rd Album, Metal Galaxy, the following songs were omitted from international release version (aka, one you will find on Spotify outside of Japan). 1). ↑↓←→BBAB (only song Babymetal has never performed live). 2). BxMxC ———— Metali ft. Tom Morello: Newest single released, not part of any album (yet). ———— Other artist’s songs featuring Babymetal: BMTH - Kingslayer Lil Uzi Vert - The End ———— I’m sure fellow kitsunes will fill in on anything I missed! 🤘🦊

Ganimal

I tried to DM you on discord but said I couldn't. ): However, I tagged you in the One OK Rock section. (:

Neon Moonlight

I really think you should start with the indie EPs from ONE OK ROCK, like I mentioned before. That’s where you hear their rough sound. By the time they released Zeitakubyo they had already polished things up a bit, removed most of the rapping that was a thing in their initial sound. Even if you would decide against starting with them I hope you’d consider listening to them anyway at some point! Would love to hear your thoughts.

Emma

As some have already commented One Ok Rock's first album is Zeitakubyo, but they released 2 demos/EPs with 4 songs each. Both were released in 2006. Sadly there are no english sub videos for most of these songs. I created a playlist with both EPs. As they are both only 4 songs long it might be a good idea to react to both in one go. Here's the playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMFs6LWdh2MmgKtOusqQSKQ73EWsJXmOG&si=SPXav6lzv-AUlbGP

Annika

BTS released quite a few songs, covers, etc. before debut but only unofficially on SoundCloud so for them I'd say that the official debut album 2 Cool 4 School should be counted as "the first". It's a mini album but so is the follow up O!RUL82! It wasn't until Dark And Wild that they released a full studio album but that would be discrediting the mini albums and what they achieved with those. Just my opinion... 💜

Imajin All The Purple

mcfly story of the song: five colours in her hair https://youtu.be/YrFYC8mXePk?si=qERhBVL512PYSVXz mcfly story of the song: obviously https://youtu.be/BmCXkMqQDMo?si=O9EwTi_L3z0mFi6v

Katie Abbott

lol I LOVE THAT! and holy crap idk how I didnt realize they've had 10 ALBUMS!?!?!

John Reaves

Charlie for the WIN!!! Heck yes! Thank you!

John Reaves

i'll send the playlist to u later, gonna create the playlist now!

Tzu2

For Band-Maid, Maid in Japan is the first mini album. Was rereleased with a couple extra songs, but those are from the time period and are worth including (total of 10 songs). The oldest professionally shot concert you are going to find is Akasaka Blitz, though we only have 7 songs (January 2017). There is also an acoustic set from November 2014, Engadget Fes.

Charlie Lucas

we can find it on youtube, its for u also to understand the lyrics, to know whats on taka's mind around 2005-2007 hahaha coz i think the lyrics on that album must be recognized too

Tzu2

i think u will love it! if u want as there's not much footage of the time i can send u links to a few "story of the songs" for songs from this album?

Katie Abbott

ohhhhh I cant wait to hear this first album! I grew up listening to music in that era!!

John Reaves

If it’s “available”, then I guess demos do count.

Akiko-choypella

So I've got a playlist sent to me to use for that album and im REALLY stoked to get to it! :) but wait there's an English translation one!?!?!?

John Reaves

Oh You know they are at the top of the list! Is there any first album besides Dark and Wild I should know about?

John Reaves

mcflys first album is called Room on the Third Floor, it came out in 2004 and debuted at no1, making them the youngest ever band to debut no1 since the beatles, they still hold the record for this almost 20 years on! sadly there isn't any footage of their first tour, or a documentary of it, but the nearest is a home video mini documentary they did which was slightly earlier than when the album came out but it shows them finding out the first single was no1 etc https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLANOIIl9ArTtJVCPVGJYBqYk6XiYRzsOy&si=CCtGXP7g28MvXkMo

Katie Abbott

THE CHOICES ARE ENDLESS!!!!! lol, so we'll do that one then! and after that we'll just do concerts and any Docs he has that go with those concerts! :)

John Reaves

Just my opinion for One ok Rock - I'd say start with their first album available on Spotify (Zeitakubyo) because 1) it's easy to access and 2) it's kinda fitting as the "first" album since it translates to Luxury Disease, their 10th album!

purrindopril

Dimash has only done one album ID,

Debs Morgan

for One Ok Rock their first ful studio album and released on 2007 is called "Zeitakubyo". its a great debut album, if u want i'll make a playlist on youtube combining all the songs that has a english translation each song.

Tzu2

BTS sir!
