Do you know why Danny calls Tom t bag?

Jennifer Clarke

They actually once had the one and only Brian May come on stag for this song

Natalie 92x

oh also, now you HAVE to watch their concert in rio from 2022 https://youtu.be/O8tYB5B4RKA the famous 'tom on his knees' scene is from that, the one you watched in a compilation of them being chaotic

evie

you talking about the 'poor drummer stuck in his seat' has reminded me that he is actually the only one out of all 4 of them to fall off a stage at one show. guess he got tired of being stuck back there :)

evie

I love them so much I have been waiting for them to return to wales so I can see them live because I want them to be the first music concert I go to and now when you see their kids come on stage it’s even better bless I have fancied them each at one point now I love love and adore them and they’re family’s

Rosey Perkins

You so need to watch the All About Us documentary now to learn why they had a break

Stuart Boyd

This was AMAZING!!! I feel like now you need to see All About Us so you can get to know them better and why they took that break!!!

AdinaStarlight

So how do I get in on helping John watch the all about us documentary?

Mel Beckerson

That bit at the start was T-bag which Danny calls Tom sometimes. The All About Us documentary shows their history and deals with the hiatus. The track called McFly The Musical is a brief overview of their history. There's also a great video of Tom's Wedding speech and the other three were his best men.

Audrey

OMG! This is happening! I'm the happiest person in the world. Thanks for giving a chance to their music. McFly concerts are something else. Their energy is always in another level!

Sonia Cury

yasss!! thank you John! :)

As for categorising them…can’t really do that. Something you rightfully picked up on is that they’re very eclectic and aren’t shy in trying out new sounds. No two albums sound similar to one another. Album 1 (Room on the 3rd Floor): Think beach boys meets softer green day. That’s the best way I can describe it Album 2 (Wonderland): Pop with a decent rock influence Album 3 (Motion in the Ocean): It’s almost like punk meets classic rock meets musical theatre. It’s a very weird sound but it works very well Album 4 (Radio:ACTIVE): Straight up punk/rock worship Album 5 (Above the Noise): Synth/pop Album 6 (Young Dumb Thrills): Mix of everything from alternative to punk to cheesy pop Album 7 (Power to Play): Back to punk/rock/classic rock There’s also another “album” of unreleased tracks which starts off with RED but the rest apart from 1/2 is very singer/songwriter sounding

John we’ll do a request soon where they explain why they had a break etc, it’ll explain their whole journey

lee reynolds

can't wait to watch this later! 🥳

They fell into an unplanned hiatus between album 5 & 6. There’s a lot to it but to summarise in the most basic format: they realised they weren’t as popular as they were in the beginning and a couple of them tried to steer their sound to be something to propel them to the massive name they were at the beginning. However the ones who didn’t were against that and it caused a lot of disagreements to the point they couldn’t agree on anything. It ended in them literally not speaking to one another for years.
