Early Access Jungkook 3D

Jk Released a new track! Lets talk about it!

Early Access Jungkook 3D

Comments

I had the same initial reaction as you to the featured artist's lyrics. I found an alternative version released by BigHit that actually cuts that whole part out and JK does the whole song by himself. I liked that version much better.

Nikki Reeves

Thank you for being honest. My reaction to this was very similar to yours. I'm a grown woman, I've been around the block, I don't think I'm a prude and I'm not afraid of explicit lyrics but Jack's part didn't resonate with me at all. I hope my son grows up talking to and about girls in a much more respectful way, and that my daughters don't have to listen to guys like Jack.

Please read this article https://www.puckermob.com/relationships/an-open-letter-to-the-guys-who-dont-take-no-for-an-answer/

If a woman says NO to a man and he doesn't take a no as an answer it's bad news. What does it mean when a man harasses you and does not take no for an answer in dating or relationship? Have you been in a situation where you have tried your best to convince the guy that you are not interested in having a relationship with him but still he tried to force his way into your life? Have you been with a Guy who always pressurize you into doing something you did not want to do and try to have his way with you? There are many men who do not take no for an answer. I have been there and I am sure there are several more women who have been in the same situation. Why is he not taking ‘no’ for an answer? What does it mean when a guy is not taking no for an answer in dating? What to do in such a situation? If you ask me not taking no for an answer is one of the signs of an abusive man who is self centered and having no respect for your feelings. It is better for women to keep away from such men as such relationships only bring misery and regrets.

I don't think misogyny is the right word which is why I didn't use it. Misogyny means hatred or prejudice against women. I don't think his lyrics are that. I think it objectified women as just things for sexual pleasure. For example, "ABG" is the Asian version of sl*ts, b*tches, and h*es. I think he was talking present tense when he used this language. It wasn't clear if it was past tense. That with his second verse line about "I got girls playing with themselves on camera" (also present tense) just doesn't sit well. It doesn't sound like the language around how he talks about women has changed. The part were he is counting women, I don't find offensive, like some, because I understand he was talking about his past self collecting women and he isn't like that anymore. It did feel like he was bragging about it though because he was counting. I think the balance of this is how I think of women now and this is how I used to think of them is off. He spent a lot more time talking about and using the language of how he used to think of women as opposed to what he thinks now. Does this make any sense? I love that we can have a conversation about it.

Solos are the most vicious ….I stand with you💜💜💜💜💜💜

Angie

I am from the U.S ….i really love the communities I have found…whatchagot2say, John Reaves,Shiki, Mastergo, etc, for the most part they are very supportive communities full of love except for the occasional toxic ones who practically go looking for a fight….but what I said was taken as if i attacked Jk …I loved his parts…he always does everything with class and he and BTS have unmatched talents…I don’t have a problems with songs with sexual tones but some rappers will get down and dirty as they can ….I won’t apologize for not liking JH parts just as the ones attacking would not apologize for their dislikes….but one attacker seemed to be looking for me on every reactors page almost commenting under every comment I had,. stalking basically. They don’t realize that attacking a difference of opinion is the very HATE they claim to be against.

Angie

Agree

SHA

Where are you getting such message from? We need MeToo moment of course. But in no way has either of those music videos or lyrics treated women badly in them

SHA

BTS is still signed under BigHit. They wouldn't have resigned with them if anybody was doing anything they didn't like to them or they couldn't decide for themselves what music they want.

SHA

He didn't say anything bad about women tho? He was talking about himself. He could've stepped up his game w lyrics and said something more...but there was actually no actual misogyny.

SHA

I think there is are a few problems. First, as someone else mentioned in a previous comment, some Army are having a difficult time identifying the difference between antis/haters and true Army who have concerns. Second, I saw a comment that someone felt that if we thought that Jack's part was misogynistic that means we think Army who like it are misogynistic (hence the crazy behavior). In my opinion that just isn't true. I do think that people need to be reminded of Army's core values. The behavior I have seen do not align with what I understand to be Army's core values, nor the values of BTS.

Erin

thank you, it means a lot to have this space where I don't have to worry love your attitude and channel 😊 I think some people are just immature and need to grow and and learn to respect others, I'm going to try and put this all behind me now

Katie

Katie I’m so sorry you got hate for your opinion, I think as long as we’re all respectful I don’t see why people can’t understand others opinions, like if this song and feature is someone’s favorite thing ever, I’m not going to bash them for it. That’s their opinion

John Reaves

I am sorry to report that since this morning I dared to voice my opinion in the comments section of another BTS reactor I follow on youtube and I received similar reactions to Angie 😥while I was not called a hater outright I was told I was wrong and basically that I am imagining things and my opinion does not matter. I am so glad that the reactor themselves (for transparency actually it was the WatchaGot2Say guys) they didn't like it either just like you didn't John. So I'm really glad to have this as a safe space when I can go to be among like minded people. Borahae to you all 💜UPDATE: I'm now being attacked by solos 😐

Katie

I love that you were honest John and I love that so many members here are the same, it makes me dare to say my mind as well. I'm not sensitive to lyrics that bring up sex as a subject but it's sad that Jack didn't have a better message. Yes, we BTS fans are used to getting great messages. But there is another thing I think is more problematic if you look at Seven and 3D as a feminist and that's the MV for Seven that we found so funny. It's NOT funny at all, actually, it's one reason that we need Me Too movements. Here we have a girl who is saying NO but JK does not take her NO seriously. And that is a big, big problem that leads to rape and stalking etc. We normalize that a woman's NO can mean YES even if she says NO repeatedly.

Britta Högström

You are so welcome 😊It is nice to meet new armys - where abouts are you from? I am UK army! I agree with what Maya said I think this was JK's choice I don't think we can 'pin this' on bighit or hybe- I do like that the members have all had a lot of freedom with their solo careers to explore different things. That being said I still stand by what I said and I stand with you and all armys who were made to feel wrong for expressing their opinions or dislike for this song. I agree JK already is a global pop star but I can see the direction he is taking trying to gain more popularity in the west by emulating the current western style of pop music and while I don't like it, it is his choice and we have to respect that. Also it is just one song who knows what his album with bring 🙂

Katie

🤷🏻‍♀️maybe….just don’t like JH style of rapping……

Angie

based on what Jungkook has been saying and the music he listens to, i doubt that hybe or bighit are forcing anything on him. And I just want to remind that hybe is not a label, bighit is, and they're still independent.

Maya

Thankyou so much for this!…I had quit listening to our western pop because it’s not about music and lyrics it’s about who can come out with the most vulgar performances and outfits….Then I found BTS and fell in love with them and their music….there are those telling me that this is hip hop😳 no not all hip hop has sleazy content, some yes, but not all . I still love them and will stream as much as I can cause I think they are the most amazing humans on the planet. When I first heard BTS, they were still under BIGHIT but then Hybe came into play…I got a sick feeling…like please don’t mess with this beautiful group….It’s been said that Jungkook is wanting to be a global pop star (imo he already is) but i hope that Hybe isn’t leading him down the wrong path…like if you want to appeal to the American audience your gonna have to get like the rest of them ..down and dirty. Thankyou for the support it’s so nice to meet people through this…especially the nice ones 💜💜💜

Angie

I am totally in agreement with you - so at least one person does not think you are a hater 🙂 I also thought the lyrics were at best too generic and everything I dislike about western pop music and at worst as so many people have said sleazy - as a woman it made me feel very uncomfortable. I saw a comment somewhere else online where someone stated something like just because JK is trying to show a more mature or gown up side of him doesn't mean he has to do it by talking about sex. I agree with this 100% - if anything it's the opposite - it shows immaturity as being 'an adult' or a grownup is not just about that. I think some armys get so caught up in defending the guys from haters they have forgotten to take a step back and distinguish the difference between actual anti's and armys with different opinions to their own. I think it is bound to happen when you have such a massive fanbase that crosses different age groups countries cultures etc but doesn't make it right. I'm sorry you got hated on that's not nice. I didn't really enjoy the song either so if I do listen to it I will for sure be listening to the alternate version. , I thought his voice was amazing and the performance and choreo were great. I will still support JK as that's what being an army is about and he deserves the space to experiment, figure out who he is and what kind of music he wants to make. Borahae 💜

Katie

Everywhere else I’ve been attacked for saying I didn’t like J Harlows part….Love JKs part though….so now I’m deemed a hater….which definition now means if you disagree ….. for me it was like a beautiful painting and then throwing mud on it🤷🏻‍♀️…My stalker will probably show up here to attack again…AND when I think about how they came down on “War of Harmones” as opposed to this😳…War of hormones sounds like a nursery rhyme compared to this

Angie

I didn't like the collab. I don't think it meshed well. I feel like it took away from the flow of the song. I also really disliked Jack's verse. It left me with an icky feeling and unfortunately his verse ended the song. I know he starts with "I used too" and ended with "her choice" but the entire middle (the majority of his verse) was language that objectified women. It felt like a brag wrapped in a "but it's ok because that was the past." Honestly I am disappointed and think that JK should hold some responsibility. It is his song. Luckily he has a banging alternative version which I can listen to and love. Also I love the choreography/dance of the music videos.

Erin

I loved JK’s part. He absolutely nailed it. With the regards to the feature, I liked his voice (tone) and delivery with the beat, it matched well. What I did not like were the lyrics. I understand he was referring to himself during his part but it was just too cringy for me. They might be lyrics his base likes but I am seeing ARMYs both men and women alike saying the lyrics don’t belong in the song. I am with others and also prefer the alternate version with only JK. Also want to add the Choreography was fire and female dancer killed it.

Raynstor.m

I loved JK on this-could have done without Jack's part, but that's just my take on it. The alternate version (w/o Jack) was the better of the two for ME-but it's a great song (took me back to Justin Timberlake)!!!
