Dimash - ARNAU - NYC CONCERT

WHAT AN AMAZING CONCERT!!!!!

Dimash - ARNAU - NYC CONCERT

Comments

I think you were asking about the promo pic that comes up every once in a while during the video. This was on Kazakh TV and Wolfrock copied it, downloaded this video somehow. He's a big Dimash Dear although his reactions have slowed down. Also, i agree with your assessment about SOS, he was WAY too happy to really show the very sad/emotional sentiment across, although it was a stellar performance. And the prompter was controlled by Dimash's little sister Raushan and I think the reason why it was backpedaling is because she moved it forward to the next song, but then Dimash went backwards and started singing the verse again. Lol. And I don't know if I you noticed the very young kid playing the dombra with the guys but thats the little brother who wasn't so little in the Stranger concert.

#wherearethefreakingwlowers Thank you!!

I love this concert, it was amazing, it was #Dimash's dream, which came true and still comes true!

loved it! Finally I watched it! I had a very busy week .. Is amazing how Dimash came to NY to a sold out Barkleys center! He is an independent artist, not to much marketing, only YouTube and social media! And he still make his dream come true! I love the crowd! I would be screaming all the time! Hopefully next year we have a concert again in the US and we all have to go and but tickets together and go crazy! Hahaha cause I will if I see him live😂 sadly I found him a year after this concert and I live in NY🥲

Ahh, finally had time to finish watching this last night. Need to have peace and quiet and not just any odd moment, lol! #wherearetheflowers oh they are there, i think people had to give them to the security guards in this concert, haha. Yes, this is the most rock, most swag Dimash, he was just high on love, music, and dreams come true that night. There are some more subdued ones, where he is channeling a little more of his classical side, but also some with quite a bit of that rock energy and playfulness. Unfortunately very few of his concerts have been professionally filmed and released, so we rely on fan cams for the most part... My personal favourites beside NY are Yekaterinburg (2020) and Antalya (2023) (both only fancams.) I was lucky enough to attend the latter and i think it is his happiest one beside New York. It was like there was no barrier between him and the audience, he was just so incredibly authentically present, and just joyous. (Unfortunately he has had to reduce the literal going into the audience a lot because people have gone a bit too crazy in some shows. I was front row in Prague last year and towards the end of Screaming people just started pushing in, literally jumping over chairs, it was out of control. I swear, though, that the moment he realised the crowd was coming for him like maniacs he actually looked amused... I guess it's pretty flattering, lol.) Anyway, yes, there are lots of different sides to Dimash, you are very right about that. Btw, he has referred to himself as "an introvert who loves the audience", which is quite an interesting description and perhaps not one that many would expect.

#wherearetheflowers 🥰. This was an amazing concert and I loved your reaction to it all. We dears admire Dimash’s vocals but are in love with his soul and humanity which definitely shines through in this concert! We hope to see you at the next concert 🎶. We’re all praying for another US concert sometime soon 🙏🏼😊.

#wherearetheflowers😂 My friends & I bought flowers but unfortunately we weren’t allowed to bring them in so we gave them to the people that worked in Barclays. Dimash’s NYC concert will always be my favorite. It was so unreal & satisfying. You have to join us for Dimash’s next USA concert. Thank you so much for another great reaction. ❤️

Verna

Thank you! It was amazing concert! Loveyouloveyouloveyou #wherearetheflowers

Actually John I would suggest you also react to the concert behind the scenes in New York. It's great. Here is a link with English subtitles : https://youtu.be/oDdQUY3sYxU?si=jsI5G-HvjUHczLoE

#thankyoudimash #wherearetheflowers Freaking amazing concert and freaking great reaction! Freaking thank you. You have to see him in concert! Saw him last year in Europe and he was phenomenal!

A bit sentimental here today. #wherearetheflowers It's Sept. 18th and exactly one year ago I was in Oslo, Norway (310 miles from home) having a resting day between running 10K at Oslo Marathon the day before and leaving for Kazakhstan the day after. My first visit to KZ which would include so many memorable events. The Dears Pre Party was a blast, at a beautiful golf club and both Dimash's mother and brother came to say hi. The Stranger concert itself was epic (as you know). The day after we went to the legendary Muzcafe in Almaty for a concert with percussionist Ilya where also Dimash's mother attended, my favourite part being guest artist Yerlan Baybazarov. Ended that evening with a 4h Dimash fan meeting before getting up way too early the next day to run the 10K at Almaty Marathon. Thank you so much for this reaction, I needed it! My whole body is itching, craving a new visit to KZ but it won't happen this year but re-watching this concert helped me believe I'm going to see Dimash live again sooner or later. The Stranger concert in Almaty I felt was very much a "Welcome to KZ"-concert. It was grandiose, epic, legendary and emotional because we came to KZ to be there and being there with the KZ audience. His other concerts are often more intimate being in smaller venues and therefore easier to connect with the audience. So I hope I can see him again in a smaller venue but I also wish he can have enough listeners to fill those big stadiums because both his voice and stage presence can pull it off.

Ahhh something to watch on my train ride.

Thanks John, yes this concert was amazing, the lucky man, who was there.... Dimash is honest in everything he does, modest and simply human, like all of us, that's why we love him so much . I dream to be at his concert, wherever he will be in Europe.... #wherearetheflowers

Thank you for taking this up, so nice watching it with you. About Daididau - No, Dimash did not compose the song when he was 15, or at all, it's a traditional Kazakh song, lyrics after poetry by a famed Kazakh poet, intellectual and independence activist who got falsely accused of treason by Stalin's regime. Dimash, his father, and his father's friend made this more modern and striking arrangement for it when Dimash was 15. They would have made it specifically with his voice in mind. The shared dream was for him to one day perform it to big international audiences. The song itself is very sad, based on what happened to the poet. He was taken prisoner in Soviet Russia, and lied to about his wife having abandoned him. This poem is his reaction to these news, it's a letter of love and heartbreak to her (her nickname was Daididau). This is a very important song for Dimash not only because it was the one he dreamed of singing for big international crowds, but because it is bringing Kazakh art, culture and painful history of oppression, and final victory in national and cultural independence, out into the world.

I did not discover Dimash until some months after this concert so unfortunately missed it. I do now know several of the DEARs in this audience now though and they talk so enthusiastically about this concert. It is a shame they cut out some of the songs and conversations and such. I wouldn’t mind seeing an unedited version of the whole concert. #wherearetheflowers

Had a day and a half, I will explain tomorrow ❤️

It is on request for next month

#wherearetheflowers 🤣 I'm so glad you listened to us, you would have been so disappointed with the butchered version on Dimash's channel. Even with this they cut out some audience interaction, like after Give Me Your Love when he said "Don't be jealous, it's just my work" 🤣 yes, he sings SOS differently in every concert and it very much depends on his mood to how he sings it, it's extremely sad when he sang it in Astana in tribute to his friend Denis Ten and sadder still in Malaysia after the death of his grandfather.

"Olympico" was written for Dimash to sing at the opening of the European Games (prelude to the Olympics). It is sung in Italian. (his Italian is perfect - I'm Italian!)

Margaret

I was at that concert. I have been to tons of concerts over my long life - but NOTHING like this one. I am waiting for concert announcements for next year; I will be at the next one in the US or western Europe. Shoot, I'll probably go to both! John, I am also in Nashville. If one comes up, let's all get our tickets together!

Margaret

P.S what other singer do you know that brings people from over 50+ other countries to his concerts and they not only sing along with him but do so in Kazakh, Russian, Mandarin, English and Italian!! He takes so much pride in that aspect and that his "Dears" take the effort to learn these other languages for him!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ #where are the flowers 💐💐

Becky Nicholas

All of his concerts are special and unique but I feel in this one, his dream from childhood was to come to NY and not only did he do it but sold out Barclay Center basically not even being really "known" in the West and the US! I felt he was more even more grateful and showed it all night long!!

Becky Nicholas

Since you like “Love of Tired Swans” so much, you should check out the official MV. It’s a work of art.

Elizabeth Coughlin

I was smiling for the entire 2.5 hours, so my face hurts🙃 thank you

liebertessa

I think the concerts in his country are more serious and emotional because he’s so concerned with doing honor to his family and countrymen. In other countries, his mood is more playful. He speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, and a good amount of English. But he sings in something like 15 languages; learning the songs phonetically. This was an amazing concert; I wish I had been there.

Elizabeth Coughlin

Thank you so freaking much. Being at a DQ concert is simply just amazing. Hope you will have the experience some day ♥️♥️♥️ #wherearetheflowers 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Stine Karlsen

Hey John, can you react to Kingdom’s Dystopia, please & thank you!❤️

Verna

Ohh by the way, he dropped the jacket on stage. As I said before his smaller concerts have a more intimate feeling vs big productions in his Kazakh concerts. I prefer a smaller and more intimate, always seems he feels more relaxed, playful and in the west he tries to speak more English, because in ex USSR countries he always speaks russian or Kazakh (in Kazakhstan) and it's a bit frustrating when we're there and we can't understand a word. I can see you start to recognise a few songs as well 😊 still waiting to see you react to some of his best songs.

The incredible joyous emotion of this concert makes it so special. I am so happy that you reacted to this, so much fun! ❤️

Sos is Dimash’s calling card. You might be interested in seeing his performance of it on Singer 2017, the extended version. He was invited to the competition among established Chinese singers as a wild card and was not expected to last. His performance of SOS blew up the Chinese internet and launched him into international fame. He placed 2nd in the competition only because of politics. A foreigner couldn't take first place.

Cheryl Macbean

Lol it shall be here when you get out! Have the best of times!!

I’ll watch tomorrow night ❤️

Oh no, I am in line to see Kingdom 😢
