So, that's not a flute nor a clarinet nor a brass instrument - it's a soprano saxophone. :) He played a tenor sax earlier, and then switched to the soprano. They're both woodwind instruments. Love this performance so much!!

I think it's actually a tenor sax like Kenny G (but not the same vibe, clearly) and then the actual sax is a baritone sax for the rest of the episode? I could be wrong for sure, since I haven't played a sax in many many years but judging from the size of them, that's my thought 🤔

His voice feels like melting chocolate or something, incredibly smooth, controlled but still so emotive. Amazing, I have watched it three times now!

I love tiny desk too so I was super excited when it appeared on my my youtube feed AND my patron feed 🥰 I think this is the most V performance ever it suits him so well it has such a jazz vibe and yes loved seeing him so happy. One thing though: I play the flute and I swear that was not a flute it was a clarinet wasn't it? Flutes don't have Reed and you hold them differently?

Love to see how proud he is of this project. edit: Just received Layover tonight and the liner notes list freekind as doing the vocal sample on "For Us".
