WHAT A FREAKING SHOW!!!!! The Production... The Music... The Everything!

BabyMetal Returns - The Other One

Comments

the guitar you trying to know about the pickups in the Gimme Choco min 30ish in the video is ESP 7 Snapper Fujioka Custom, you can actually watch about all about that He use in that video here : https://youtu.be/4ZhZUBG6SGM?si=T_3XX_DBILIYAn_s he explain all about his guitar include it that guitar, actually that guitar originally used by Kami band member who passed away and he took it and play it. Becuase Mikio is Takayoshi Guitar Master.

Starlight

He's trying to first and foremost hear all the songs that could possibly be in the setlist at the concert he's going to. Black Night is the next in line.

vocal

I'd suggest Begins Clear Night as it has the new costumes and Momoko as a full member. But Black Night would be great too. Do both!

Jim Nusbaum

The next concert I recommend is the second in The Other One set of concerts: Babymetal Begins Black Night.

vocal

Someone will correct me but I think the guitar you talk about during Gimme Choco is being played by Takayoshi Ohmura and I think that is Mikio's ESP. Takayoshi usually plays his pink sparkly signature ESP. But after Mikio died he has played Mikios reddish ESP, which I think is what we see here. Or maybe I am completely wrong.

Thanks for the reaction, I really enjoyed it! The shows here in the US won't quite be like this, but there will be some short lore to open the show most likely. All the big Japan shows have this level of production and storytelling though, so you can look forward to that in future reactions. They've been using a setlist similar to this at most recent performances, so there's a good chance we could expect something similar for the US Tour: 1. Death 2. Gimme Chocolate!! 3. PA PA YA!! 4. Distortion 5. BxMxC 6. MAYA 7. Monochrome 8. METALI!! (with a Kami intro) 9. Megitsune 10. Headbangerrr!!! 11. Road of Resistance 12. Metal Kingdom 13. Ijime, Dame, Zettai Can't wait to be seeing them here in Phoenix!

Jimmy Pullano

Sorry for the misinformation. They started performing it well before Metal Galaxy came out so I assumed wrong without checking.

Jim Nusbaum

Distortion is from "Metal Galaxy". The third album. 😊 🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻

There are a number of guides. The best is a little out of date but worth watching https://youtu.be/gDne0xwniTg. There is also a new, shorter, less detailed one by Ohmajination that is good https://youtu.be/Wg2czdgQclA

Jim Nusbaum

Distortion (can't stop the power) is from their second album and is also a fan favorite.

Jim Nusbaum

Please remember the show you will see won't be like this. You have to go to Japan to see one of these shows. When on tour outside Japan they are pretty much a normal band as far as production goes. The upside is you get to be 3 feet from Su, Moa and Momoko if you get on the rail and if Moa smiles at you will ascend to heaven. Also the band will be 5 feet away.

Jim Nusbaum

During Headbanger the worship section is for Su, as the Queen of metal. It is very significant for Japanese to bow all the way to the floor like many fans do.

Jim Nusbaum

The anti bullying song is IDZ - Ijame Dame Zetai. It is a classic and well loved by the fans.

Jim Nusbaum

Doki Doki Morning was performed with a new group, a Babymetal spinoff if you will, called Metalverse. This group also performed Karate with them at the PIA show. They now have their own songs and just opened as an independent act at Summer Sonic in Japan.

Jim Nusbaum

This concert was before the album release so they did not play all the new songs. The new songs were Metal Kingdom, Divine Attack, Light and Darkness and Legend. The rest were classics and crowd favorites.

Jim Nusbaum

So a bunch of stuff about this concert. So this was their first concert after 2 years off during which there was big speculation about whether they were even coming back. So this was a triumphant return but also the end of an era when they were a duo after losing one of the original members. So the end of this concert presaged the addition of Momoko as an official third member and the end of the era of Babymetal as a duo.

Jim Nusbaum

I see that Andreas made the exact same recommendations at the same time I was typing my comment ... great brains think alike :)

Omajination recently made short and entertaining introduction video to Babymetal that doesn't go into great detail about the origins, but is very well made and is pretty much up to date (i.e., includes the introduction of Momoko as a new member). I would actually recommend all the Babymetal videos on her channel, she is fantastic. Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wg2czdgQclA However, if you really want to know about their origins, I would recommend this video by CrypticMisery. It is long, but well made and entertaining. Their origins are really fascinating, so it's worth it, in my opinion. Keep in mind that this video is not up to date, it ends before their hiatus. Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDne0xwniTg It would be great if you could do a reaction to one or both of these! Great reaction to the show, btw!

Hi John, first of all: Thank you for your content. I am really enjoying it :) Here a link to the nost popular Guide for BabyMetal, but t covers only the time up to 2021, to the BUDOKAN-Concerts. After these concerts, BM was "sealed" and the most of us (THE ONE) didn´t know, if this was only a temporary thing or not ... But 2022 they announced THE OTHER ONE ... and we still diidn´t know, where this would end ... But finally ..2023 they came back and with a bang. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDne0xwniTg&ab_channel=CrypticMisery Here's another guide that's a little more up to date, but that's aimed more at people who've never heard of BM before. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wg2czdgQclA&pp=ygULb21hamluYXRpb24%3D Have fun Greetings from Germany Kitsune up :)
