2023-08-13 15:01:54 +0000 UTCWhen I saw them in Brisbane, I opted to go up on the balcony, I was literally 20 feet from them, and I could see their whole show. If you have a balcony that overlooks the stage, go there. I don't regret a second of it. You can mosh anytime, but you won't see a show like Babymetal everyday. Get the best possible vantage point and protect it with your life lol. Also, if you can catch Moa's eye early in the show, when she comes over for crowd engagement sections of the songs, she seems to seek the same people out each time and I felt we made eye contact about three or four times. The first time she waved in my direction, I pointed to my chest as if to say, "are you waving to me?" And she nodded and waved harder. I know, I know, there would have been 20 people within her eyeline who pointed to themselves, but it felt like she was waving to me alone (of course she wasn't, it was just sublime stagecraft). It was amazing. Moa is definitely the best of the three girls at crowd engagement. You won't get a show in the round at a US concert, they are saved for Japan, nonetheless, you will be spellbound, and gob-smacked by how good Babymetal is live.

Yes this is one of those rare songs where Su actually does the scream live ... you should hear Moa's scream from Legend M where she took over lead vocals for her 20th birthday. Hedoban = Headbang with a Japanese accent. The "gimmick" myth was put to bed 12 or 13 years ago for anybody who listened to more than one or two songs. The only people still saying that have never heard them and are repeating the misinformation on the internet written by people who have only heard the first half of 'Gimme Chocolate' or they are the people who have only ever heard the first half of 'Gimme Chocolate'. The moving stages are only in the Japanese arena shows. You can expect a traditional stage set up on the US tour with one stage, Su, Moa and Momoko centre stage, the Kami Band right behind them and the big screen behind them.

2023-08-13 00:22:05 +0000 UTCGreat reaction! You've already seen Megitsune recently, so I agree with GratefulAmerican that Syncopation would be the best of those four. (No Rain, No Rainbow is a great song, but the Legend S version is best) I'll be seeing them in Phoenix for the first time! As Brumetal said, I would expect a pretty standard stage setup, nothing like the Japan shows. Probably a video screen and some lights, but nothing too more than that. They also announced a new song coming out next Friday called METALI, be sure to catch that one as it could be part of the shows this fall. Not sure if they'll be performing it at any of their shows next week in Japan (OTFGK). Also next week will be the official debut off the "spinoff" band known as Metalverse who are part of the BABYMETAL universe (for lack of a better term). They have some clips from their upcoming songs on their social media pages.

2023-08-13 00:06:11 +0000 UTCGreat news for the NA tour, they uncorked Headbanger again at the Rising Sun Rock festival in Japan today, so maybe it's on the setlist! Won't see you at TN, but I'll be at both TX shows and the Atlanta show. For the NA tour, they will almost certainly be in a more traditional stage setup, at one end of the hall. Barrier will be the best place if you want to watch the girls/band, anywhere standing will be great if you want to mosh. These will be my first shows of theirs in the States, so idk how the crowds here will be, but being in the pits at the Japan shows was next level fun. I hope the fans here bring the same kind of energy! edit: also, you won't see these musicians at the NA shows - these are the Japanese Kami band, we will almost certainly get the Western Kamis, but fear not they are also incredibly talented musicians.
