Jimin's Face Album - Full Album Reaction

Comments

also i can relate so much to every song on the album especially the first 3 tracks because i have been scared of facing alot of people after the pandemic and i have been feeling lonely and depressed and i used food as a way of comfort. my good friend turned to alcohol like jimin did i think many people went through something. but like crazy has one line that really stuck with me and make me change. and it was the bathroom scene where he looks at the mirror and says " i´m feeling so alive, wasting time" and that´s how i feel. when i am in my own little world all is good but deep down i know that it´s not good for me. so that made me wake up and starting do something about it. when i realized that the whole album face made sense to me. it´s about facing yourself not talking of a mask even if it could mean both.

i think he tried to be transparent without actually confirming it.

i think without knowing anything. i think he might have had a boyfriend. because we have never seen Jimin with a girl he always talk about his friends. so one might have been more than that. and i think gay because of the MV and how he is portrait. he has a net shirt on, and eye shadow on the left eye at some point. plus his clothes is ALL unisex items and we know they never do things without a reason. and the mullet too. so he could also be Bisexual. it´s not only from this mv alone, but in his Photo folio he has a very clear bisexual picture in very pink and purple color. with a shirt from LTBQ+ and remember this shoot took place right after the concert in LA so it was about that time he also began writing his album. and also if it bothered him that people thought he was gay he could have just asked Big hit not to dress him like that. it´s beautiful clothes and i don´t mind it a bit hehe. but he already knew fans was having this thoughts about him and then he makes that Photo folio.. and he has a fake tattoo in the picture saying FREE. so i think he can´t be fully honest about this side of him. this is just a theory because kpop and korea in general are not very welcoming of people who are different. and gay idols that have come forward have been bullied. so if he is, than it must be very lonely for him and hard to understand. he might also be scared if the person would tell people about their relationship. Jimin only mentioned this person as friend or friends. he talked about it on suchwita

There is one more song on the album - Letter

Cat

I was so sad you didn't listen to letter XD! Can you review it separately pretty please? haha also Interlude Dive was in the wrong place :( in the album it is actually the second song after Face Off. Other than that loved your review and how much you liked it and appreciate Jimin ^_^

Thanks for reviewing the album I really wanted you to hear Jimin's lower register since you had said that's what you wanted to hear more. I love all of the songs, but I loved the amazing vocal performance of Alone the most (I think)🤭. He harmonized with himself as if he was 2 people. Crazy! Crazy! Jimin's voice is insanely good and versatile. What an incredible instrument he has.

Oh, and Dive is between Face-off and Like Crazy, he said he thought he needed something to connect Face-off to Like Crazy. I feel like he wanted us to understand his state of mind and what he was going through then. Alone seems like a song portraying how he was trying to act like everything was fine, but he couldn't help but admit he wasn't okay. He needed help and he wanted to get out of the cycle he was in. He says "Mae day, Mae day, get me out". He's conscious of his situation now, whether he wants to face it or not. He said, in the "A Day With BTS’s Jimin in NYC | Vogue" video "Wait what am I doing". When the alarm clock goes off in the morning is when these feelings well up and he was upset with himself for repeating the "Like Crazy" cycle. Somewhere between Alone and Set me free pt.2 is when he was able to pull himself out of it. To me, Jimin was incredibly strong and determined to face his situation head-on. Read the "Rollingstone" interview, Vogue Interview, and Weverse Interview. Watch Suchwita w/Suga and Jimin, and his Behind-the-scenes filming for the MV's. Watch the "A Day With BTS’s Jimin in NYC | Vogue" video as he prepares for the Jimmy Fallon show. At every turn, Jimin opened up and honestly explains what happened (as much as he could) and how he was feeling, and how he broke through. Set Me Free pt.2 is the true end of the album. Then there's the bonus love letter he wrote to Army on the physical album.

Go on a very easy search and find mission. Jimin explains a number of times what this album is about. I really appreciate that he did that. This album is really for him, but he shared it with us. He said he felt lighter when finished. My take on this album, Face-off is as was already said a song about betrayal. He said that's what it was. He was betrayed by some of his friends. Like Crazy despite the light upbeat tempo, is really the saddest song on the album to me. Because that's when he was in a cycle that was really not good, and (his words) he thought he was having a good time and enjoying himself so wanted to stay that way.

I love the versatility of the lyrics because it could be about a relationship or how he dealt with the pandemic. I don't want to speculate on a relationship because I honestly don't know but he has said he wrote about his emotions during the pandemic. 'Letter' may be to ARMY but I initially thought it was to his other band members. Again, amazing versatility. This album is criminally short. I WANT MORE! But I love that he was able to tell his story.

The arc of this album is stunning and heartbreaking and finally joyous. I took it as Face -Off is trust betrayed by significant person in his life whether friend or romantic. Like Crazy is when you’re trying so hard not to feel the pain after (and during Covid) by doing anything to avoid it. Alone then happens once that wears off, you’re alone again and feeling the pain. That you’ve been putting up a happy front for anyone while you’re seriously hurting, Trying to tell yourself it’s going to be ok eventually and the depression telling you that’s a lie (because that’s what depression does - lie). Finally, Set Me Free where you finally come out the other side and heal and decide to live your life in a true way. To me, there is a direct line from Lie to Filter to Promise to this album. One thing in Face Off stuck with me (I mean, the whole thing did, but ykim). He said in an interview once that he felt like he had to pay people to be his friend (paraphrasing). He desperately needs people around him and is a people pleaser by nature. He’s mentioned hating when they stopped sharing rooms on tour. It’s why he continued to have a roommate when they moved to a bigger place. Hobi has said he shared because it’s what Jimin needed. I’m proud of him for the work he did on this album, but I’m even more proud of the work he did on himself emotionally. It’s not easy to get to the Set Me Free place, but he came out of everything and got there. I wish I could give him a hug and tell him that.

Jimin said his father cried when he listened to the album for the first time.

The acoustic version is hauntingly beautiful. Half way through it Jimin takes a huge breathe of relief and smiles as if he was really feeling every word he was singing. It makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck every time I watch it. He is truly a pure artist always remaining faithful to his innermost passions and ghosts.

this was a no-skip album for me. Jimin's emotions come through his voice & his delivery. I love ea track for difft reasons. As others have mentioned he asked if you can listen to it in chronological order bec it tells the story of how he felt, that dark time during the pandemic and how we overcame it. In both Jimin & Yoongi's lyrics, it pains me to think what they were going through that time. Jimin talked about this in Suchwita and in his Vogue vlog, interviews he talked about how he felt lost, empty and his brothers advised he write his emotions down and hence this album was born. He feels lighter having released the accumulated emotions through this album. So proud of him for his artistic choices and for trusting ARMY to understand what he wanted to convey. And yes, please give 'LETTER' a listen bec it is a gift to ARMY and my take is after all that heartache he gifts us with this beautiful letter. Thank you! 💜

OHHH I HAVE TO HEAR IT!

John Reaves

Jimin told suga on switchita( sorry I know I probably didn't spell it right) that this album is all of what he felt chronologically during the pandemic. You should react to jimin being on switchita if you haven't yet.😀💜

Ashleigh Mako

You need to react to his song, LETTER, the hidden track on FACE (with JK doing BG vocals)...it's a song to ARMY and it's stunning! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WbnnptdtsTQ He also did an accoustic version of Like Crazy you HAVE to hear as well (on LeeMujin Service, a TV show)-this is the link to it....worth watching the whole thing honestly! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wvz8Rs7dgc

There is a hidden track that was only released on the physical CD called Letter that tied the whole album together 💜😊
