Augst D - Full Album Reaction (With bonus Songs / Lives )

Comments

(Apologies for the long comment.) I am one thousand percent an unwavering Suga bias, and I have been since the first song of BTS's I listened to when I first found them. Of course I am in love with how he thinks and writes his lyrics and produces his music, but I also resonate a lot with him in a sense. He seems very standoff-ish and cold or maybe even aloof when you first come across BTS. I'm the same way, and have been all my life. I also don't like being touched even by friends and family most of the time, I'm extremely empathic with others and tend to care a lot about other people's well-being, and tend to show it in a way that isn't really attention grabbing. Just small gestures, like shoving a water bottle at someone when I'm at work and walking away, haha. I could see that part of him clearly in his eyes whenever I watched any of their conversations with each other or their live performances. Also, he proves the saying true, that it's not the loud people you have to watch out for, but the quiet ones. His self-titled mixtape was also a masterpiece. There isn't a single song I would ever skip, no matter what mood I'm in, and I would be very hard pressed to label one of these songs as my favorite, because they are all so good. While So Far Away had probably the most emotional impact on me from D-1, just because it's relatable to my own situation even now, his self-titled track Agust D was also just so raw, fast and aggressive which I loved hearing from him, especially since before this, you only got to see him as 'Suga', who has his own parameters he has to abide to within BTS. Then there's The Last, and hearing how raw and honest he was being on a song that anyone could listen to had helped me get through a really tough emotional situation I was also in. Hearing at the end that he no longer cared as much about the things that would have otherwise caused so much anxiety and self-loathing in the past, and that he's now proud to be an idol in BTS, was beyond motivating and encouraging to me. I laughed so hard at your reaction to Jungkook singing "First love" in So Far Away, because that was my exact reaction when I had first heard it. Between that added bit along with that small piano piece of First Love (I'd also caught that as well my first listen) along with Jin and Jungkook harmonizing with Suga's "Dream", I was not okay. I shivered so hard, it was just so beautiful to hear. And yes, Jimin absolutely crushed Tony Montana. He was showing a side to himself that I don't think anyone had seen up until that point and he was perfect alongside Suga.

Yoongi bias - is was his lyrics and his rap. Also, from what I've seen, I feel like we have very similar personalities. :) Jimin is co-bias and it was his dancing first, then his solo BTS songs, then (starting with Promise) his lyrics as well. of the 7, I feel like I can really relate to their lyrics/songs the most. Like, a lot a lot.

I'm sorry I couldn't enjoy the stream live, but I've so enjoyed watching this playback John & co. Suga is my bias because he chose me, no doubt about it, back when I had no idea who BTS was I saw a mobile game ad of them and his face mesmerised me: not like I was thinking "hey hottie" more like I was staring at the face of someone I'd once known but forgotten and the amnesia was clearing, it was so weird. I went to watch Dynamite MV and was like "naw, I like metal and hiphop this ain't for me" but wanted to know their names and thought Tae was cute XD then I was down the rabbit hole and listening to each album one by one, watching videos on YouTube explaining their story etc and realised SUGA was for sure my bias: he's who my eye is drawn to no matter what they're doing, he's part of my soul family for sure. And I think with you listening to this mixtape John you get it. He knows how to transmute his pain into beautiful bittersweet art and my metal loving soul needs that reflection more than any pastel pop fun, tho BTS are slowly breaking me of any discomfort around that too. But Yoongi is an artist I'd have loved at any age or stage, and while I didn't get tickets for this tour in the US (man did I try for 5 hours but lets not talk about platinum pricing) imma make the even more fun trip from Scotland to Seoul and see him in his hometown in June instead. Can't wait for the D2 reaction!

I was telling my daughter that I'd die if he did Tony Montana and Jimin popped up 😆 it needs to happen!!

I loved this reaction! Made me smile. I'm so glad Meg sent you the extra versions of some of the songs. Great full experience

After listening to his mixtapes, Agust D/Suga/Yoongi firmly established himself as my ult bias (he had already, somehow, snuck in as my bias, without me realizing it, while I was telling everyone I was only OT7...go figure). Can't wait to see him in concert...curious as to what he'll do since he no longer harbors that deep anger/angst within him. During his D-2 live he talked about the songs in that mixtape and said he has moved on from the feelings he had when he wrote those songs. That was his older brother who supported him even when his parents were trying to dissuade him from going into music. Jimin said Tony Montana is his favorite in the Proof album. I think it's because it's so different than anything he did/does...and he thanked Suga for this.

Answering questions as I go: 1. No it wasn’t the first mixtape that came out of BTS, it was the second one! Namjoon was first with his mixtape RM in 2015. Agust D came out in 2016. 2. As for the explicit lyrics, nope not our first time experiencing that 😅 they had some explicit pre-debut covers and songs from their past and well namjoon had his mixtape and he was pretty explicit. They have always used curse words though, things like shit and fuck in their songs before this. But yeah it wasn’t until the mixtapes from both namjoon and yoongi where we had current BTS be so explicit minus their usual cursing. 3. This was released after their school trilogy albums and their most beautiful moment in life albums, like I said namjoon already released his in the middle of the most beautiful moment in life album releases in 2015, this was also before wings came out! Wings was October and Agust D was well…. August 😂
