I love this band SO much!! Like you said, his songs are incredibly relatable. I got to see him perform this live, and I choked up. Of all his songs this is one that means the most to me. I was HEAVILY bullied in high school after my family moved and I had to transfer. I have always been a black sheep too, and was really academic. I refused to be someone fake just to fit in, but it was rough. It got so bad I actually tried taking my own life at just 15. I’m 36 now, and I’m truly happy I always stayed true to myself. I have amazing friends now who love me for me. This song really hit home in such a profound way. Their music makes you feel heard and understood and I love that. To top it off I got to meet them and they’re genuinely the kindest people!

I'm never gonna be good enough for her and I'm tired of talking her and having her put everything I say down like my entire life is insignificant cause I don't have kids or a high paying job. It was not a good day, but im fine now. That's how I relate to this song on a deep personal level. I literally don't care what people say about me, but don't ever tell me to be more like someone else cause that aint happening. It's taken me 35 years and a lot of crap to get to where I am now, and I honestly couldn't be more content with my life. I've never fit in and I never want to stand out. I just wanna be me and everyone leave me alone about it lol. Sorry for kinda ranting lol but I love this song so much and everything it stands for! I still cant believe I saw them live! He made us all go down on our knees and jump up for this song, nearly killed me lol but it was so worth it!! Im never getting over that concert.
