Not only do their vocals kill it, but they also do this really cool body hitting / clapping / snapping thing while they are singing - which is so cool to watch because the coordination it takes to do it is insane!!

2022-12-08 10:09:42 +0000 UTCHey John, I see that most others have already said that for Kevin in PTX the beatboxing is more important, I also heard that when he first joined them he wasn't confident or comfortable with his singing voice, he was taken under Avi's wing and given 'lessons/coaching' by Avi and as his confidence grew so did his singing within some of the songs. Amazing Grace is another that he sings in, and also for Christmas 'White Winter Hymnal' as well as 'Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy' and 'Carol of the Bells' enjoy the concert, I am hoping to get to see them in March 2023 when they are here in Australia.

He was also in a gospel Quartet. He is hilarious. I grew up listening to him and watching his comedy shows that used to come on the faith based network that my mom had on all the time. Anyhow I love,Love,Love this version of the song.

I hope they do Oh Come All Ye Faithful, Kevin arranged it and it is lit! Thank you for this reaction! Kevin has his own site at KO Kevin Olusola. He plays multiple instruments including piano, cello and saxophone. He was invited to play the sax at Carnegie Hall when he was around 15. His cover of Marion Hillβs Down is a good place to start - electric cello, loopers etc and he sings.Oh, he also speaks fluent Mandarin and had dropped out of med school to join PTX. I would say he is special!

2022-12-03 22:14:14 +0000 UTCI don't know what's on their set list for the concert, but some of my fave Christmas carols of theirs are older songs that they did, like Little Drummer Boy and Carol of the Bells. Kirsten kills it in Little Drummer Boy but Mitch is the star of Carol of the Bells. You will seriously wonder how he breathes if you watch that one.

Besides beatboxing and his fantastic vocals he is also a classical cellist. He invented the art of "celloboxing". Check out PTX Radioactive with Lindsey Stirling or Say Something and Shallow to watch him beatbox and play the cello at the same time. As to why Kevin does not sing more with the group, I believe it come down to it is more important for his beatboxing skills to carry the rhythms of a cappella for the group. He does sing in the songs Imagine, Amazing Grace and 12 days of Christmas to name a few. As for Christmas, you'll be exploring a whole new rabbit hole. O Come all Ye Faithful is my fav... It will get you dancing! They definitely put their PTX spin on Christmas carols. Thanks for your reactions.
