I think we as ARMY need to be careful we don't fall into the trap of wanting to wrap the guys in bubble wrap, we don't fully understand who the guys are, their culture and what they want, so let's not play into the victim mentality. We all learn by mistakes, and wanting to protect them from all the "bad" things just strips them of their agency. Just my 2 cents :)

I agree with SierraNicole, without cameras around, guys and gals do interact at music shows but because the korean fandom culture tends to be alarmists whenever they see guys and gals together, to avoid any rumours and impacts to their careers, when cameras are around they don't want anything to be misinterpretated so they can "play up" the "i'm uncomfortable with gals" vibe

Also believe I saw a clip of jhope saying he had a girlfriend before he joined the company. I think yeah maybe the flirting outright and being bold with women was new to them so I agree it probably was situational.

You know they went to high school with girls and a lot of their staff is girls, yeah? And they were around female idols a lot back stage at shows and such. I'm not saying they were used to hitting on them on camera with their bros but you make it sound like they haven't interacted with women ever and that's not really the case. haha. I really think the awkwardness here was situational. Having to play the part of cool guys, picking up women, in front of each other and staff and on camera. Not some paralyzing inability to interact with women.
