2024-09-27 13:50:28 +0000 UTCAnyways, I’m 3 days late to this because my Patreon subscription ended… but it’s back :) So as I was expecting, Marcus’s backstory was gonna have some sort of supernatural ghost stuff going on… his daughter looks so much like Nina, it’s almost scary. At that one timestamp, where we saw that one investigator interrogate Marcus… I saw a picture of him, his daughter, and his wife. His wife still remains a mystery, did you see that tear in the picture of her face? Interesting indeed. I’m hyped for episode 4, keep up the great work!!

No clue why Jared’s new recent Twitter post stated Marcus’ age is “unknown”. Maybe a retcon, but until there’s a confirmation, I’m sticking to the notion that Marcus is 56 as of DCAS. I’d also like to know why the dolls were abandoned. Maybe someone caught wind that they were supernatural homicidal killers. Notice that Nina said “sisters”, as in plural. Safe to conclude that the other two dolls in the commercial are either on the loose or disposed of. I’m starting to think that commercial in the beginning of the episode was a setup….😈💀

2024-09-24 22:43:56 +0000 UTCThoughts: I was half expecting this episode to be similar to the Scooby Doo format but I'm glad to see how ONC handled the Marcus and Nina story. I thought it would have been nice to see how the dolls became supernatural or possessed in the first place and if Nina had been the host of Marcus' daughter's soul but it didn't put too much dampener on the overall result and it keeps the mystery alive. Annika, Molly and Chet were great characters, it would be great to see one or all of them again later on because they could have really interesting story arcs outside of their web series. They could be DC's answer to TD's Gwen, Julia and Damien respectively for all we know. Overall, Staff Stories have done it again and I can't wait to see what Derek and Trevor's story offers us next week.

I can understand he had to go as he was drafted(and once drafted you cannot go unless there are special conditions) I think that goes to show he did love her and didn't quite believe she'd ever do such a thing. It’s really telling that Nina the human was too scared to remain with her mother and Marcus had to ask his daughter to be strong for him. No offense to Marcus, but he should have known better than to leave his daughter with someone that seemed too unstable.

Yes, they have filmed evidence, but she’s still a freakin doll! Who the fuck would believe them? The police would likely think they made special effects for editing purposes. Also, that investigator actually followed up on their allegations regarding the supernatural doll?! Does the supernatural commonly exist in the Disventure Camp universe? Finally, kudos to Marcus for modeling Nina the puppet after his late daughter. Very touching!

It would be nice to have an explanation for HOW/WHY they’re supernatural. According to Nina in DCAS episode 19, she’s from Hell, so that may be the closest to an origin we have from her. I’m also glad we have a timeline given to us. As a reminder, Marcus is 56 in DCAS which began filming in August 2023. That means he was 31 during the flashback with his daughter and 33 for the rest of this episode. I’m a little confused about Howard bringing up Marcus’ daughter during Kristal’s flashback in the previous episode. Kristal was 9 in that flashback, meaning it took place 2003. Marcus got the call about his daughter’s death in 2000.

2024-09-24 20:48:10 +0000 UTCAmazing episode! Finally an answer to Nina’s sentience. Apparently, she’s supernatural and named after Marcus’ late daughter. In a way, I was close. Now, I see why Nina mentioned in DCAS episode 6 that Fiore reminds her of her sister. Speaking of reminders, does anyone think one of those girls in the commercials resembles Courtney from Total DramaRama? Pretty sad to see that the face of Marcus’ wife was ripped off from the family photo. Marcus probably doesn’t have much positive feelings about her. I still wish we could see what she looked like. As hostile as Molly was, I don’t shame her too much for being realistic, though she still could use work with the attitude. Interestingly, I totally thought Molly would be the optimistic compassionate one and Annika would be the deadpan, blunt snarker. A great example that looks can be deceiving. Lol! I wouldn’t be surprised if Chet shared the same voice actor as Drew from Reality Resort, David Benton Jr. The battle between Nina and her sister was amazing as well as the epic chase Nina’s sister gave them. Straight out of a fuckin horror movie. 9.8/10
