#311: Phrase The Roof 3

Wuh-oh! I say this is the 2nd ever 'Phrase The Roof' but it turns out it's the 3rd?! I really dropped the ball. I put the cart before the horse. I'm a day late and a dollar short.....

The perfect play option for all of you would be "The Play That Goes Wrong". It's a brilliant mix of comedy, physical theatre and a sprinkle of moments for improv.

Mr Minky

The skit at minute 46 is the plot of a one act play, "the actor's nightmare," in which a person who doesn't think he's an actor gets thrust into different plays which he doesn't know the lines for - and there is a Shakespeare part. It's written by the author of "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead," and has a similar sense of humor.

The “Goodbye/God be (with you)” thing reminds me of a professor who made the class read Chaucer Middle English aloud. There’s a lot of words and phrases that just turn alien if you adjust the spelling or inflection even a little bit.

I mean, most of the Odyssey happened bc of Poseidon, and if anyone is a water type…Then again, Odysseus had to use SOMETHING to heat up that big stick he stabbed into the cyclops’ eye. And a Charmander using Ember on some of those crew members who Circe turned into pigs? Can you say luau?

For a moment I thought Chris Tucker was no longer with us, I had to look it up...

Maggie R.

Well that's crazy timing... I *just* finished reading Circe by Madeline Miller. It's a fictional mythology book that includes Odysseus and Scylla. I recommend!

Brittany

How do you get rock and a hard place from two monsters? You ask them nicely.

Erin’s old time radio announcer voice in that filter is music to the ears, I tells ya

Sunny K

I've been saving this as a treat for my shitty workweek and yum yum yum

Ian McMahan

"Yikes biketh!" Is improv magic.

goobercheese

Listening as a former classics student XD fire type Pokémon would def have livened up bits of the odyssey

Kate

"Perchance a towel, my Queen!" is truly a thing of beauty

Samantha Jo Hall

I haven't been in a play since 7th grade, but i have the play dream all the time

Cory!

He did! I thought they were playing an old clip for a sec

Greet the world with open arms, greet the world with open arms

I know for a fact I heard that I heard JPC say something about his dad and Menard’s ranch before

Is there still a Chili’s at the Braintree mall

Whatever we face, we'll be fine if we're leading from the heart 🎶🎶

"This life is amAAzing, when you greet it with open arms" :,)

Wp

Instead of saying stuck between a rock and a hard place my friends and I say stuck between a rock and hard cock. It doesn’t make any more sense but it is a lot more fun to say

Jules

You three should listen to Epic the musical. It’s a concept album telling the story of Homers The Odyssey! It’s incredible!

Jenrushesin

Yeeessss finally it's back!!
